Chapter 1931: Additional Variables
Chapter 1931: Additional Variables
……
While the world was currently in turmoil, Shin and the rest of the team were doing their final preparations for the concert.
They had just finished their final dress rehearsal at the venue of the concert, finalizing everything for tomorrow.
…
Arthur slumped on the sofa right after taking a quick shower. “Tsk! Tsk! I never expected that having a concert would be this tiring.”
Shin took a seat beside him and shook his head. “Don’t you want the spotlight? This is your perfect time to show off in front of thousands of people.”
Arthur rolled his eyes at his brother and refuted. “If I am the main act of the concert, then I will not complain even for a bit.”
He then started ’crying’ and complained. “But I am just a drummer!”
Leonard also entered the room and chuckled. “Who chose that instrument in the first place? I seem to remember that you truly loved being a drummer.”
“Because drummers are cool!” refuted Arthur in his defense. He then swiftly sat up and asked. “Can’t we just be a bit more instrumental to showcase our skills?”
The two rolled their eyes at him before Shin said. “We already have that segment at the early stages of the concert.”
“It is not even just a few moments either. We have arranged it to have everyone enough time to showcase our musical skills,” he added while throwing a square pillow at Arthur.
Arthur caught the pillow and continued to complain. “But that is not enough! How can it compare to what you guys have!”
“You and Cloe even have a piano and violin duet!” he added while pointing at Shin.
“Sonata. It is called Sonata. A violin sonata,” said Shin, correcting Arthur.
“We have a violin and piano ready; it will be a waste not to use them,” explained Shin with a sigh.
“Jilian has a solo with her harp! And another with Alice singing!” continued Arthur while pointing at Leonard. “Even this guy has an instrumental solo with his saxophone!”
Shin just shrugged his shoulders and said helplessly. “Well, you can only blame your choice of instrument.”
“What do you mean!? You bastard, also have quite a lot of song numbers throughout!” shouted Arthur.
“That’s my talent as well,” said Shin casually before adding. “Moreover, those songs are what I personally composed.”
“Then what about the dance number with Cloe!?” shouted Arthur, refusing to let go.
“It is a necessary number for that famous song of Alice,” Shin countered.
“You can just leave it to the backup dancers!” Arthur snarled back.
Shin looked at him while shrugging his shoulders once again. “Cloe wants to perform it, and she just dragged me into it.”
“You could take my place if you wanted, though,” he added.
Arthur was about to agree when Cloe suddenly barged in. “I refuse! Dancing with that idiot is a hellish experience!”
“How can you say that! I am quite a good dancer too!” defended Arthur.
“Not in classical one, though,” Cloe harrumphed and refused to back down.
It was at this moment that the others also arrived and entered one after another.
“Look! Look! They are at it again!” said Lorraine excitedly, seemingly wanting to enjoy a show.
Given her action, it was clear that this was not the first time that these guys had such a scene. It looked like they were regularly doing this every free time they had.
Alice and Jilian did not have much of a reaction and just found a spot to sit. They both did not like talking too much and did not appreciate a rowdy atmosphere, but they somehow did not mind this atmosphere within the group.
Molton, on the other hand, swiftly ran towards the boys right after entering, while also distributing the drinks that he was carrying for everyone.
Outside, Elijah and Benedict were standing professionally to guard the door, acting in their roles for this operation.
“Tsk! It is good to be young,” commented Benedict after hearing the liveliness inside the room.
Eljiah, who was standing on the other side of the door, could not help but give him a weird look. “You are talking as if you are an old person. You’re only eighteen, brother.”
“Ahem! Ahem!” Benedict cleared his throat before saying. “Come on, Big Brother Elijah. Just read the atmosphere. It is something that you are supposed to say on such occasions.”
Elijah shook his head. “I always think that you are the most disciplined and most serious among your group. But I guess I am wrong about it.”
Benedict just shrugged his shoulders before adding. “This is what you call being influenced by your circle of friends.”
While they were chatting, both the communication devices that they had suddenly rang at the same time, making them silent in an instant.
Listening to the person talking on the other side of the line, the expression on the two had suddenly turned solemn, especially as they listened.
After a while, they finished listening before exchanging glances with each other.
“Looks like this is going to be a bit trickier to deal with,” started Benedict.
Elijah did not immediately respond, seemingly thinking about something. He only answered after a while. “You can inform the kids. I’ll deal with the necessary preparations.”
After that, he quickly tapped his earpiece and started giving orders to his group.
Benedict, on the other hand, clicked his tongue repeatedly. “What a time for those guys to make trouble. We have just finished our final dress rehearsal along with our security assignments.”
He then turned to the team inside and heaved a sigh of relief. “Fortunately, these guys have already broken through and could at least hold their respective grounds better than before.”
After that, he entered to tell everyone the news.
“This is not going to be good,” he mumbled.
…
Inside the room, the group was still bickering with one another when they saw Benedict entered.
Given the expression that this senior was making, they could tell that there was some development with their mission, and it seemed not to be that good.
Seeing that everyone seemed to have already gotten some idea about the news that he was about to disclose, Benedict did not bother to beat around the bush and immediately went straight to the point. “There are some problems on our side.”
“We have yet to find any clues about the whereabouts of those people from the Black Serpent Mafia. The same for the exact location of the trade.”
“But we have just gotten some news that there are some troublemakers creating problems for us. One of them is a familiar group for some of you, while the other is a major powerhouse within this continent.”
Seeing that Benedict did not immediately name the troublemakers, the group seemed to have become a bit impatient, making Arthur unable to keep up with the suspense and ask curiously. “Who are they?”
Benedict smiled in satisfaction before answering. “One of them is the Hextech Laboratory. Those guys seemed to be eyeing your group, particularly your talents.”
“They have also created some trouble in the Soaring Continent recently, which is why our forces are eyeing them. We have caught up with their tracks here. They seemed to be plotting something in the air, taking advantage of the current situation.”
Hearing that, Jilian could not help but comment. “Fishing in troubled waters?”
“Precisely!” nodded Benedict before continuing. “But this group is a criminal organization, which is why quite a lot of forces were eyeing them. Moreover, they had also dealt with a blow to the Sun-Moon Continent before, so the Sun-Moon House will most likely help us deal with them.”
He paused for a moment before continuing. “The real trouble comes from another group, the Lufus Weapon Arms Group.”
Hearing that, Arthur and Cloe could not help frowning deeply before blurting out at the same time. “Lufus Family?”
The group turned at them with an inquiring gaze, which Arthur explained. “It is Justin’s family.”
“Oh~!” Shin and Leonard realized something and understood what was going on.
Alice and Lorraine, who were also somewhat involved during that incident, also nodded their head in understanding, leaving Jilian and Molton quite confused.
“But the Cilvana Family should be keeping them in check,” said Arthur.
Even if the Sun-Moon House had a close relationship with the Lufus Weapon Arms Group, those guys shouldn’t have had the guts to cause them trouble, especially when the forces that came with them here were not just the Springfield Family.
Moreover, he also heard that the relationship between the two was strained due to the deal that the Sun-Moon House had with the Springfield Family.
There was also the incident when Shiella had demanded that the Lufus Family hand over Justin to her.
He did not know exactly what had happened to that guy, since Shiella had not told them about him, but Arthur could guess that it was not something very pleasant.
He could guess that those people were most likely itching for revenge, which was why they were here.
Benedict nodded before answering. “If it is just the Lufus Family, then they can’t cause us much trouble. The problem is they have suddenly gained some support from a mysterious backer that even the Sun-Moon House dares not to offend.”
“The Lufus Family has also shifted their main base to another continent, the Silver Wing Continent, along with their Weapon Arms Group. This is why we are suspecting that this backer of theirs may be the World Government itself.”
“This is also the reason why the situation is quite tricky to deal with,” he emphasized, telling everyone the gravity of the situation.
“So, are we canceling the concert?” asked Arthur.
Benedict then shook his head. “The situation is not that bad yet. Everything is still in our control, so you guys don’t have to worry that much.”
“But we also have to be careful since more variables may arise during the operation tomorrow or even in the upcoming days.”
“We have to ask you to be more careful. After all, we still don’t know how many people are plotting against us right now,” he added.
He then turned to Shin and added. “Another thing. You must come with me for a moment, Junior Shin. We need to make some adjustments to several things.
