"No matter how you do it, as long as you thank him, I'm sure Uncle Lu will be very happy~" Wen Wan encouraged.

Jiang Sifan was silent for a long time before replying, "Okay, I understand."

After hanging up, Jiang Sifan stood on the balcony, gazing at the night scene in the distance.

The night wind blew past, carrying a hint of a chill.

He suddenly remembered Wen Wan had said she wanted to see Lu Fan's villa.

To be honest, he wanted to see it too.

'What is it like? That place I've never been, the room that was specially prepared for me?'

He just couldn't let go of his so-called stubbornness and was unwilling to bring it up himself.

'Now that I think about it, what's the use of being so stubborn?'

He remembered when he was little, whenever he saw other kids being picked up by their fathers, he would tell himself, 'It's okay, having Mom is enough.'

He remembered in middle school, when someone called him a fatherless kid, he rushed over and fought them, getting beaten black and blue.

When his mom asked him what happened after he got home, he said he fell.

He remembered in high school, how he vowed to get into a good university, to make a name for himself, and to give his mom a good life.

He had always thought he was strong and fearless.

But now he realized he wasn't all that strong after all.

Growing up, he had simply put on a tough facade because he was a boy and felt he had to protect his mother and sister.

In reality, he longed for affection too.

That was why he had fallen for Huang Hui back then, just because she gave him breakfast once.

He thought it was love at the time, but looking back now, it was only because it had been so long since anyone had been that kind to him.

Jiang Sifan suddenly found it all a bit laughable.

He took out his phone, found Jiang Silu's number, and sent a message.

Jiang Sifan: [Silu, where is our dad's villa?]

Jiang Silu replied quickly with a string of question marks: [??? Bro, you're going to the villa?]

Jiang Sifan: [To thank him in person.]

Jiang Silu replied excitedly: [That's great! I'll contact Dad and have him send someone to pick us up!]

Jiang Sifan hesitated for a moment, then replied: [Don't bother him. I can go by myself. Just send me the address.]

Jiang Silu quickly sent the address over.

Afterward, Jiang Sifan opened his navigation app and typed in "Zijin Mountain Villa."

A large, green area appeared on the map, taking up nearly half the screen.

Jiang Sifan froze for a second.

'So the villa is that huge?'

He stared at the screen for a long time, a mix of nervousness and anticipation bubbling up inside him.

...

The next afternoon, after his classes ended, Jiang Sifan found Wen Wan.

"Wen Wan, come with me somewhere," Jiang Sifan said.

Wen Wan looked at him and asked, "Where are we going?"

"To my dad's villa, to thank him in person."

Wen Wan paused, then her eyes slowly lit up. "Really?"

Jiang Sifan nodded. "Mhm."

Then, he deliberately changed the subject. "Didn't you say you wanted to see a huge indoor swimming pool? This is a good chance to check it out."

Wen Wan blushed and smiled. "Okay, I'll go with you."

The two of them left the campus, and Jiang Sifan took out his phone to call a Didi.

The car drove for over half an hour, gradually leaving the city behind and entering a forested mountain area.

The scenery on both sides of the road grew more beautiful, with lush trees and fresh air.

Occasionally, they could see a few villas hidden among the trees, partially obscured from view.

After another ten minutes or so, the car stopped in front of a massive iron gate.

Jiang Sifan and Wen Wan got out of the car, stunned by the sight before them.

The gate was an archaic bronze color, carved with exquisite patterns.

Flanking the gate were tall stone pillars, each topped with a stone lion, exuding an air of majesty and solemnity.

Looking through the iron gate, they saw a wide road lined with French plane trees, their leaves shimmering with a golden light in the sun.

At the end of the road, a building with white walls and gray tiles could be faintly seen, nestled among the trees.

A man in a uniform walked out of the guardhouse, sized them up, and asked, "Hello, who are you looking for?"

Jiang Sifan stepped forward, trying his best to keep his voice calm. "Hello, I'm here to see Mr. Lu Fan."

The guard paused, then took a closer look at Jiang Sifan.

His eyes suddenly widened, and his tone became respectful. "Are... are you Young Master Jiang Sifan?"

Jiang Sifan was taken aback, feeling a bit awkward. "You know me?"

The guard nodded eagerly, his face wreathed in smiles. "Yes, of course. Everyone in the villa has seen your photo. You're the young master, we have to remember you."

Hearing this, Jiang Sifan felt his face flush slightly.

'Young Master?'

He had never imagined he would be addressed like that.

The guard then looked at Wen Wan and asked with a smile, "And this is..."

Jiang Sifan quickly introduced her, "This is my good partner, Wen Wan."

The guard nodded and smiled respectfully at Wen Wan as well. "Hello, Miss Wen."

He turned, walked back into the guardhouse, picked up the phone, and dialed a number.

"Hello, Steward Luo, the young master is here! Yes, right at the gate."

After hanging up, he hurried back out and said to Jiang Sifan, "Young Master, please wait a moment. Steward Luo is coming to greet you now."

Jiang Sifan wanted to say there was no need for such trouble, but he swallowed the words before they could escape.

A few minutes later, a middle-aged man walked out hurriedly.

He was wearing a dark Zhongshan suit, his hair was combed meticulously, and he had a gentle smile on his face.

He walked quickly up to Jiang Sifan, looked him up and down, and then said cheerfully, "You must be Sifan, I presume?"

Jiang Sifan nodded. "Yes, I'm Jiang Sifan. And you are..."

The middle-aged man replied with a smile, "My name is Old Luo. I'm the steward of the villa. I've been serving President Lu for over ten years now. I've always heard him talk about you, and today I finally get to meet you in person."

A strange feeling surged through Jiang Sifan's heart when he heard this.

'Serving President Lu for over ten years?'

'Doesn't that mean this man knows Lu Fan very well?'

He asked cautiously, "Um... is my dad... er, is Mr. Lu here?"

He still couldn't bring himself to say the word "Dad".

Old Luo shook his head and explained, "The boss went to Yangcheng; he's not here today. Why don't you come in and rest for a bit? I'll call him right away."

Hearing this, Jiang Sifan quickly shook his head. "No, no, that's fine if he's not here. I'll come back another day. It's nothing important, really."

As he spoke, he turned to leave.

How could Old Luo let this opportunity slip away?

He quickly grabbed Jiang Sifan's arm, his tone earnest. "Young Master, what are you doing? This is your home! Even if the boss isn't here, you should still come in and take a look."

Jiang Sifan froze.

'His home?'

He had never imagined that this luxurious villa could be his home.

He glanced back at the grounds inside.

That wide road, those tall plane trees, the building barely visible in the distance...

This was a place he never thought he would live in his entire life.

He thought of his cramped dormitory, of the small room partitioned off from the living room, of his mother living alone in that old apartment complex.

And now, someone was telling him that this was his home.

A complex wave of emotions suddenly washed over Jiang Sifan.

He looked at Wen Wan, who was watching him with encouragement in her eyes.

He took a deep breath and said to Old Luo, "Well... sorry for the intrusion then."

Old Luo broke into a smile, his face filled with relief. "No intrusion at all, no intrusion at all. Please, come in."

He led Jiang Sifan and Wen Wan inside.

They passed through the iron gate and stepped onto the wide road.

On both sides of the road were neatly trimmed lawns planted with all sorts of flowers and plants. A few butterflies fluttered leisurely among the blossoms.

Wen Wan exclaimed in a low voice, "It's so beautiful..."

Jiang Sifan didn't speak, simply taking in everything around him.

The road was even longer than he had imagined.

After walking for several minutes, they finally saw the full view of the building.

It was a three-story main building with gray tiles, white walls, and large floor-to-ceiling windows.

In front of the entrance was a small plaza with a fountain in the middle, its jets of water sparkling in the sunlight.

The fountain was surrounded by several pots of flowers, all in vibrant bloom.

Old Luo led them inside, pushing open a heavy wooden door.

Behind the door was a huge living room, with floor-to-ceiling windows facing the back lawn and the distant mountains.

The sofa was a comfortable-looking cream color, and the coffee table was adorned with fresh flowers and fruit.

Several paintings hung on the walls, looking like original works.

In a corner stood a grand piano, its black body gleaming.

Jiang Sifan was utterly stunned.

This kind of place, something he had never even dreamed of, was supposedly his home...
