Chapter 314: Chapter 203: Jiang Yixia and Lu Fan’s Blind Date?! It’s Settled?
"Sister Jiali, I’ve run into a bit of trouble and was hoping you could help me." Jiang Sifan’s voice came through the phone, tinged with suppressed anger.
Jiali was in her office organizing documents. When she heard this, her hands paused mid-motion.
She put down her pen, her tone turning serious. "What kind of trouble? Tell me."
Jiang Sifan quickly explained the situation.
How Xu Junjie had undercut prices to steal his clients, spread rumors in the business owners’ group chat, and slandered Starry Studio’s reputation.
The more he spoke, the angrier he became, his voice starting to tremble. "Sister Jiali, what he’s doing isn’t normal competition anymore. It’s completely underhanded. If I just let this go, the studio’s reputation will be ruined."
After listening, Jiali was silent for a few seconds before comforting him in a gentle tone, "Sifan, don’t worry. I understand the situation. I’ll help you figure something out."
Jiang Sifan quickly thanked her. "Thank you, Sister Jiali. I’m sorry to trouble you."
"You’re welcome. First, send me the screenshots of the chat logs." With that, Jiali hung up.
She leaned back in her chair and sighed softly.
’This kid... The fact that he thought to ask me for help when he’s in trouble means he truly trusts me.’
But she knew perfectly well that this trust was built on the fact that Jiang Sifan didn’t know she was Lu Fan’s assistant.
She stood up and walked toward Lu Fan’s bedroom.
After knocking, Jiali pushed the door open and entered, saying in a serious tone, "Boss, something’s happened with Sifan."
Lu Fan looked up, his brow furrowed slightly. "What is it?"
Jiali explained in detail what Xu Junjie had been doing.
Undercutting prices to poach clients, spreading slanderous rumors, and maliciously defaming him in the business owners’ group chat—she laid it all out, point by point.
After listening, Lu Fan actually seemed amused.
He set down the cup in his hand, leaned back in his chair, and was silent for a few seconds before asking, "What was Sifan’s reaction?"
Jiali answered, "He’s very angry, but he’s staying rational. He wants to resolve this through proper channels. That’s why he just called me for help."
Lu Fan nodded, the corners of his mouth lifting slightly. His tone held a hint of gratification. "The kid’s got a level head. He knows to ask for help instead of trying to handle it all himself."
He thought for a moment, then continued, "You handle this for him, but don’t let him know I sent you. Go talk to those bosses Xu Junjie is targeting. You can hint that some of our group’s subsidiaries have business relationships with them and can offer them some discounts on supply prices. Businessmen are all about profit. You can’t rely on goodwill alone; you need to offer tangible benefits."
Jiali nodded. "I understand. I’ll get right on it."
"Also, have someone keep an eye on Xu Junjie. If that kid tries to pull any more stunts, tell me immediately."
"Understood." Jiali replied, then turned and left the office.
...
At two in the afternoon, Jiali arranged to meet with several of the business owners.
She chose a quiet teahouse and booked a private room.
Three people came. All were old clients of Jiang Sifan’s and also the recent targets of Xu Junjie.
After some pleasantries, Jiali got straight to the point, her tone gentle yet serious. "Gentlemen, I’ve invited you all here today to talk about Xu Junjie."
A man named Boss Liu sighed, his voice full of helplessness. "That Xiaoxu... He’s been calling me every day lately, saying he can go even lower on the price and asking me to switch to his service. I haven’t agreed yet."
Another man, Boss Zhang, chimed in, "Me too. The price he quoted is a lot lower than Xiaojiang’s. To be honest, it’s very tempting."
Jiali nodded, took a sip of her tea, and then spoke slowly. "Gentlemen, in business, price is certainly important. But have you ever considered why he can quote a price that low?"
Boss Liu paused, confused. "Why?"
Jiali set down her teacup, her gaze sweeping over their faces as she spoke with conviction. "Because he has no intention of doing this long-term. He just wants to snatch up the clients first and drive Jiang Sifan out of business. Once that happens, who do you think will be setting the prices? It’ll be whatever he says."
Boss Zhang frowned. "You mean..."
"You are all smart men. You should know that with something like accounting, the biggest fear is having someone quit halfway through the job. When the tax bureau comes knocking, your losses will be far greater than that small price difference," Jiali said with a smile.
Boss Liu and Boss Zhang exchanged a look but said nothing.
The other owner, a man named Boss Wang, spoke up, his tone laced with suspicion. "Jiali, what’s your relationship with Xiaojiang? Why are you saying all this for him?"
Jiali answered frankly, "I’m his friend, and I’m also the legal consultant for his studio. But that doesn’t change the fact that I’m telling the truth. You can ask around about the accounting work Xu Junjie has done in the past, how many problems there were. Some of those bosses are still chasing him for compensation."
The men fell silent.
Seeing that the time was right, Jiali changed her tack, her voice filled with sincerity. "Gentlemen, I actually came here today with a sincere offer of my own. Our group’s subsidiaries have some overlap with your businesses. For example, Boss Liu, the supplier for your supermarket is one of our subsidiaries. And Boss Zhang, your restaurant’s food ingredient supply chain also comes from us."
Boss Liu’s eyes lit up in surprise. "Really?"
"If you are all willing to continue working with Xiaojiang, I can have a word with my people and arrange for some discounts on your supply prices. As for the specific amount, that’s something we can discuss further," Jiali said with a nod and a smile.
Hearing this, a smile spread across Boss Zhang’s face. "Jiali, now that you’ve said that, I feel much more at ease. To be honest, I’ve always approved of that kid, Xiaojiang. He’s a steady worker and a down-to-earth person. It’s just that Xu Junjie, calling every day like a fly buzzing in my ear... it’s just so annoying."
