Chapter 294: Chapter 196: The Father and Son’s Respective Liaisons in Progress
Wen Wan hummed in agreement and replied, "Good night."
Jiang Sifan replied as well, "Good night."
After a while, Jiang Sifan heard Wen Wan’s breathing even out. She must have fallen asleep.
He opened his eyes and stared at the ceiling, his mind still replaying their earlier conversation.
Lost in thought, he eventually drifted off to sleep without realizing it.
...
「Meanwhile, in Yangcheng.」
The early morning sun shone through a gap in the curtains, casting a golden streak of light on the floor.
Jiang Yixia opened her eyes.
She paused, stunned for a moment. Then, remembering what had happened last night, she turned her head to look at the floor.
Lu Fan was still asleep, lying on his side. The blanket had slipped down to his waist, revealing his bare torso.
’That guy must have taken his shirt off at some point.’
The morning light fell on his body, outlining the lines of his muscles.
His chest was firm, his abs were well-defined, and his shoulders and back were broad. He looked like a sculpture.
Jiang Yixia’s face instantly turned red.
She hadn’t expected a forty-year-old man to still have such a well-maintained physique.
His muscles weren’t the bulky, exaggerated kind you’d get from a gym, but lean, smooth lines that radiated a sense of power.
Her gaze drifted down involuntarily, landing on his midsection.
His abs were perfectly aligned, and his V-lines extended down, faint yet distinct, before disappearing under the blanket.
His male vitality, in particular, seemed exceptionally abundant.
Jiang Yixia’s face turned as red as a cooked shrimp, and she quickly averted her gaze.
But the image was already seared into her mind, impossible to shake off.
She remembered the past, back when they had just gotten together. They were renting a small apartment, and there had been mornings just like this, with the same kind of sunlight...
Back then, he would want it several times a night, leaving her so worn out she couldn’t get out of bed the next day.
She remembered those mornings when he would wake up just like this, roll over, pull her into his arms, and let his mischievous hands roam...
Jiang Yixia felt her face flush so hotly it was practically on fire.
She took a deep breath and quietly got out of bed, hoping to rush to the bathroom before he woke up.
Just as she reached the bathroom door, Lu Fan’s voice came from behind her. It was husky and lazy from sleep, and a little sexy. "Yixia, morning."
Jiang Yixia’s body went stiff.
Without turning around, she forced her voice to sound calm. "Morning."
With that, she hurried into the bathroom and shut the door with a SLAM.
Lu Fan sat up. Seeing her flustered state, the corners of his mouth couldn’t help but curl up.
He glanced down at himself, then remembered her crimson face from a moment ago and grinned even more broadly.
’This woman... still so shy.’
After a good while, Jiang Yixia came out of the bathroom.
She had already washed up and fixed her hair. Her face had returned to its usual cool indifference, but a faint blush remained on her ears.
Lu Fan looked at her and asked with a grin, "Did you sleep well last night?"
Jiang Yixia said nonchalantly, "It was fine."
"I slept great," Lu Fan replied. "The floor was hard, but smelling your scent put my mind at ease."
Jiang Yixia’s face reddened again. She shot him a glare. "Saying things like that first thing in the morning."
Lu Fan laughed, stood up, and stretched lazily.
Now that he was standing, his physique was even more prominent.
Broad shoulders, a narrow waist, and smooth, muscular lines.
He rolled his shoulders, the muscles rippling with the movement, full of power.
Jiang Yixia’s eyes fell on him involuntarily, and she quickly looked away again.
Lu Fan saw her and deliberately walked over, leaning in close. "What’s wrong? Admiring my physique?"
Jiang Yixia shrank back, her face blushing as she said stubbornly, "Who’s looking at you? Don’t flatter yourself."
Lu Fan’s grin widened. "Then why were you blushing by the bathroom door just now?"
Jiang Yixia glared at him. "Can’t I just be hot?"
"Hot? It’s only seven in the morning. What’s there to be hot about?"
Cornered by his words, Jiang Yixia was left speechless. She decided to ignore him and turned to walk away.
Lu Fan followed her, saying from behind, "Yixia, were you just thinking about the past?"
"What about the past?"
Lu Fan replied with a smile, "About our time in the rented apartment. About those mornings."
"I still remember how you used to lie in my arms. You always woke up before me and would secretly watch me sleep. When you looked at me like that, I couldn’t help but want to go another round. Don’t you remember any of that?"
Jiang Yixia’s face turned completely red.
"If you keep spouting nonsense, you can get out right now!" she snapped, spinning around to face Lu Fan and glaring at him through gritted teeth.
Lu Fan held up his hands and said with a laugh, "Alright, alright. I’ll stop, I’ll stop."
Jiang Yixia took a deep breath and turned to go into the kitchen.
Lu Fan watched her retreating back, the smile on his lips deepening.
He glanced down at himself, and the memory of her instantly blushing face made him feel incredibly pleased.
’Still so shy.’
’Still so cute.’
He slowly put on his clothes and headed for the kitchen.
In the kitchen, Jiang Yixia was busy at work.
She wore an apron and stood before the stove, where something was steaming in a pot.
Lu Fan leaned against the kitchen doorway, a warm feeling spreading through his chest as he watched her busy figure.
He said softly, "Yixia."
Jiang Yixia didn’t turn around, but she answered, "What?"
"Thank you."
"For what?"
"Thank you for letting me stay last night. And thank you for making me breakfast this morning."
Jiang Yixia’s hands paused for a moment before she resumed stirring the porridge in the pot. She remained stubborn. "Don’t read too much into it. I just... did it out of convenience."
Lu Fan chuckled. "Convenience is fine by me. I was just afraid it wouldn’t be convenient for you."
Jiang Yixia didn’t reply, simply continuing with her task.
But at that moment, the corners of her mouth secretly curved into a small smile.
’I was just doing it out of convenience, hmph!’
