Chapter 287: Chapter 194: Jiang Yixia Jumps into Lu Fan’s Arms for the First Time! Relationship Progress
Jiang Yixia’s hands paused. She glanced up at him, then lowered her head again and said flatly, "No."
Lu Fan smiled, unfazed. He continued, "By the way, I saw Jiang Ming today."
Jiang Yixia froze for a moment and looked up at him. "Jiang Ming? What about him?"
Lu Fan briefly explained what had happened that evening.
After he finished, Jiang Yixia looked nervous. "She didn’t do anything to Jiang Ming, did she?"
Lu Fan shook his head. "Don’t worry, it’s all taken care of. She won’t dare to come back again."
Jiang Yixia was silent for a few seconds before lowering her head and resuming her tidying. A moment later, she said softly, "Thank you."
Lu Fan’s eyes lit up. He leaned in closer and asked, "What was that? I didn’t quite hear you."
Jiang Yixia looked up and glared at him, saying nothing.
Lu Fan chuckled and decided not to tease her any further.
He looked at Jiang Yixia and said suddenly, "Yixia, I want to eat your noodles."
Jiang Yixia’s hands paused again. She glanced at him but didn’t respond, simply continuing to clean up.
Lu Fan wasn’t in a hurry. He just leaned against the counter and waited.
A short while later, Jiang Yixia finished cleaning up and closed the shop.
She glanced at Lu Fan without a word and started walking straight ahead.
Lu Fan was taken aback for a second, then smiled and followed her.
The two of them walked through the night, one in front of the other.
When they reached Jiang Yixia’s front door, she took out her key, unlocked it, and stepped aside to let Lu Fan in.
Lu Fan changed into a pair of slippers and sat down on the sofa.
Jiang Yixia went into the kitchen, tied on an apron, and got to work.
Lu Fan leaned back on the sofa, watching her busy figure in the kitchen.
Her knife skills were practiced and sure. When the water in the pot boiled, she added the noodles, then chopped some green onions and cracked two eggs.
As he watched her, he was suddenly struck by how familiar the scene was.
Many years ago, he had sat on this very sofa, watching her cook just like this.
Before long, Jiang Yixia came out with a bowl of noodles and set it on the coffee table.
The broth was clear, and a fried egg rested atop the noodles, garnished with a sprinkle of verdant green onions.
"Go on, eat," she said, sitting down in the armchair nearby.
Lu Fan picked up the bowl and took a bite.
The noodles were perfectly chewy, the broth was savory—it was the exact flavor he remembered.
As he was eating, he suddenly said, "Yixia, I’m getting a little sleepy. How about I just sleep here tonight?"
Jiang Yixia shot him a look, her tone cold. "No."
Lu Fan didn’t seem disappointed and continued eating his noodles.
When he was finished, he put the bowl down, leaned back on the sofa, and just looked at her.
His gaze made Jiang Yixia feel a bit uncomfortable. She stood up and said, "If you’re done eating, you should go."
Lu Fan didn’t move. He just looked at her, putting on a pitiful expression.
Jiang Yixia frowned. Just as she was about to speak, Lu Fan suddenly cut in, "Yixia, how about we watch a movie?"
Jiang Yixia paused, then shook her head. "No."
’She knew this guy’s tricks all too well.’
But the thick-skinned Lu Fan didn’t budge, just sat there staring at her with pleading eyes.
His stare started to soften her resolve, but she didn’t want to let it show.
She stood there silently for two seconds before finally sighing. "Just one movie."
Lu Fan beamed. "Okay."
Jiang Yixia turned on the TV and handed him the remote.
Lu Fan took the remote and started browsing. "What should we watch? How about a horror movie?"
He glanced at Jiang Yixia and said provocatively, "Actually, never mind. You probably can’t handle horror movies. Let’s watch a comedy."
Hearing this, Jiang Yixia’s brows furrowed. "Who says I can’t?"
"Weren’t you the one who used to be terrified of horror movies? You’d always burrow into my arms whenever we watched one," Lu Fan said, feigning innocence.
A faint blush crept onto Jiang Yixia’s face, but she wouldn’t back down. "That was then. I’m not afraid anymore."
Lu Fan watched her trying to act tough and chuckled to himself.
He said intentionally, "Really? Then I’m picking a horror movie."
Jiang Yixia didn’t say anything, just let out a soft "Hmph."
Lu Fan scrolled through the options, picked the movie *It*, and pressed play.
...
「Meanwhile, at Jinling Institute of Technology.」
Jiang Sifan had just left his workshop and was heading back to his dorm.
He’d been busy all day and was completely exhausted. All he wanted was to go back, take a shower, and sleep.
Just as he reached the campus gate, he suddenly heard someone call out to him, "Brother Sifan!"
He turned his head and froze for a second.
It was Lu Yao.
Lu Yao was wearing a loose white T-shirt, its hem tied in a casual knot that exposed a sliver of her slender waist.
She wore a denim miniskirt so short it was almost daring. Beneath the hem, her long, straight legs seemed to glow with a healthy sheen under the streetlight.
Wearing a pair of white sneakers, she ran toward him with a wide smile. Her ponytail swayed back and forth, and the curve of her chest bounced lightly with each step.
"What are you doing here?" Jiang Sifan asked, a little surprised.
Lu Yao stopped in front of him, tilting her head up to look at him with a grin. "Our dance club had an exchange event at your school today. We just finished, and since I was already here, I figured I’d come find you."
As she spoke, her chest rose and fell gently. Fine beads of sweat glistened on her forehead under the lights.
The warmth radiating from her post-dance body, mixed with a faint, sweet perfume, drifted into Jiang Sifan’s nostrils.
Jiang Sifan’s gaze unconsciously drifted downward for a moment before he quickly averted his eyes.
He nodded and asked, "Have you had dinner yet?"
Lu Yao shook her head. "Not yet, I’m starving. Is there anything good to eat around campus?"
Jiang Sifan thought for a moment. "There’s a pretty good noodle shop by the back gate, if you want..."
"Yes, perfect! Let’s go there!" Lu Yao cut him off, grabbing his sleeve. "Come on, let’s go, I’m about to pass out from hunger."
