The Scarlet Fire Immortal Exalt shuddered inside as his wariness rocketed. Immediately, he looked back and saw an elderly figure standing silently in the mist.

She was an old woman, standing there with a cane. Her presence was perfectly contained, so even the Scarlet Fire Immortal Exalt failed to sense her presence.

“You’re… vice cult leader Lan of the Ghost Immortal cult!” The Scarlet Fire Immortal Exalt quickly recognised her, and his eyes narrowed. Lan Caidie said nothing as if she refused to talk with the Scarlet Fire Immortal Exalt.

The Scarlet Fire Immortal Exalt was not angered. He could tell that Lan Caidie did not want to converse with him, so he stood to one side quietly.

Lan Caidie glanced at Tian Changji’s corpse that lay at the foot of the stone tablet one last time and sighed silently inside before turning around and following Jian Chen.

“I will tell them about what happened here truthfully. The Immortal Feather sect is one of the twelve courts of heaven. They will be reasonable,” the Immortal Emperor who collected Tian Changji’s corpse said sternly.

“G-great elder, y-you better stop saying that. W-what if that senior returns…” an early Immortal Monarch said in a trembling manner. He was extremely fearful, afraid that words might lead to disaster.

When he heard that, the Immortal Emperor who collected Tian Changji’s corpse subconsciously quieted down. He glanced in the direction that Jian Chen left in as his expression changed several times. He was also afraid of retribution.

In the end, he made up his mind and left without hesitation, immediately swallowed by the thick mist in the distance.

“When I encounter Xing Caijian again, I’ll discuss this with her and see if the Heavenly Star Palace can help your Ghost Immortal cult handle this misunderstanding. After all, I was the one who killed the people from the Immortal Feather sect, not your Ghost Immortal cult,” said Jian Chen.

“If it were any other organisation, the Heavenly Star Palace could obviously resolve it with ease, but it’s different this time. Great elders from the Immortal Feather sect have died, and it’s three all at once.” Lan Caidie looked at Jian Chen and said with worry, “Actually, there’s something else I’m worried about apart from the Ghost Immortal cult, which is how the Heavenly Star Palace and the Immortal Feather sect will handle this matter.
