Chaos Warlord: Reincarnated in Eldrich with the Devil System!

Chapter 277 274: An important lesson!

Chapter 277 274: An important lesson!

Val immediately used his Detect skill on it to find out more about it.

It was a scroll that contained the strongest technique of the Lumisoul Tribe that could only be learned by the chief of their tribe. In other words, studying this scroll can grant the unique skill exclusive to the chief of the Lumisoul Goblins!

Val set it aside for now, as he decided to learn it later.

Then, with the help of his undead, he quickly collected dozens of cores from the corpses of the Lumisoul goblins.

These cores were called Constitution Improving Lumisoul cores!

They were packed with a type of energy that could improve one’s strength, agility, reflexes, stamina and even HP stat upon consumption.

But there was a catch.

If the energy inside the core wasn’t properly circulated throughout the body, it would lead to an inevitable explosion.

But for Val, these cores were nothing short of treats, akin to candies.

He tossed them in his mouth one after another, performing a feat that would’ve left anyone else in smithereens.

The pain associated with the act of consuming the cores would have been agonizing for most, but it was literally non-existent for him because of his Unfeeling Trait.

This allowed him to maintain a lucid mindset, perform wizardry without a single mistake, and use his soul power to guide and channel the energy of the cores he consumed throughout his body.

As the energies of the cores circulated throughout his body, his strength increased rapidly.

[System Notification: Congratulations, Host! You have successfully absorbed several dozen Constitution Improving Lumisoul cores. As a result, you experienced major improvement in your constitution.]

It wasn’t mentioned how much he improved. He had to find it out for himself. And what better way than to look at the system interface?

“Status,” Val uttered.

Within his field of vision, a semi-transparent screen containing details about himself appeared. He skipped the unchanged part, only focusing on the areas where he has improved.

Elation welled up within Val. To see such a significant jump in his stats just from consuming the cores of the Lumisoul goblins was not something he had anticipated.

The idea that Lumisoul goblins were extremely precious resources for humans immediately solidified in his mind. After all, their cores had the ability to dramatically boost one’s stats, even up to a staggering 80 points. If he knew how beneficial their cores were to a human before he fought them, he would’ve left some of them alive and subdued and domesticated them with his Void Force skill to raise them like cattle in his shrine of evil.

He wouldn’t have slaughtered all of them.

Alas, in the heat of the moment and without this vital piece of information, he had made an oversight and eradicated them all. 𝑢𝑣π₯xt.π“’π“žπ•ž

‘Instead of crying over spilled milk, I should take it as a valuable lesson.’ Val reflected on his recent actions but didn’t chastise himself as it was meaningless to scold oneself over something that have already been done. Instead, he admitted his mistake and decided to do better in the future like a mature gentleman. ‘In the future, I will be more thoughtful.’

As he had recently acquired the Void Force skill, he hadn’t centered his plans around it, but he was beginning to notice the various ways it could be put to use and the potential benefits it held. From now on, he might start occasionally centering his plans around it.

Val took a moment to survey the corpses strewn around the clearing. Their blood, fortunately, wasn’t of a poisonous nature. As the blood was safe for consumption, he absorbed their blood using the Blood Absorption skill. This act resulted in a massive increase in his blood bar, bringing it above 10k points.

Now he could use attacks like Red Death without any hesitation.

The corpses in the clearing were completely dried out of their value. No one else could milk out any benefits from such corpses, but Val still had a use for them.

He cast the Corpse Sacrifice skill on them, and it resulted in him gaining enough energy to create a few more level 3 undead. He could also create a level 4 undead if he used all the undead-creating energy in his possession.

However, Val had always been a pragmatist.

Engaging in actions without meaningful outcomes was not in his nature.

Even though the energy at his disposal was sufficient to create a level 4 undead, the risks associated with the endeavor deterred him.

His Void Control Skill, while formidable, had its limitations, after all. It promised a 100% success rate only when subduing beings that matched his own level. Any disparity, even by a single level, could introduce uncertainties.

His skill could certainly dominate those who gave in, but he was certain the level 4 undead would rather die than give in as it was bound to be more stubborn entities than its level 3 counterpart.

‘Undead creatures are neither bound by reason nor emotion. They are driven by their primordial instincts, which are to cause chaos and destruction. Even if I manage to beat a level 4 undead in combat, demonstrating my clear superiority, it would continue to resist the effect of my void control skill until it dies. The only way to bring this class of undead under my control is to reach level 4. Then, even if they resist, as long as I subdue them, my will will overwrite their instincts once I use the Void Force skill.’

Thus, Val decided against the creation of a level 4 undead. Instead, he allocated the amassed energy to produce 3 level 3 undead and promptly employed the Void Force skill to bring them under his command.
