Chaos Heir

Chapter 1534: Distraction

Chapter 1534: Distraction

The ice that had invaded the four evolved warriors was only a consequence of the actual technique, and the same went for what had happened to the area.

Liiza’s ice had never been superficial, and her evolution had only deepened those more profound and existential traits, turning her element into something that even Khan had to fear.

Liiza’s element wasn’t actual ice anymore, either. It was something deeply connected to time and life itself. Her mere existence could make the world slow down, flowing differently from her reality.

As for the black evolved warriors, despite being part of the True Chaos, they were also individual existences. Liiza also outclassed them, which was why their very being succumbed to her power.

Just like the punishment Liiza had inflicted on the last Nak, the evolved warriors saw their existence come to a halt, unable to oppose Liiza’s influence, falling prey to complete stillness that expanded to their physical bodies.

Those frozen figures couldn’t think, breathe, or live. They couldn’t even summon their power, losing their entire momentum and falling, shattering into ice shards upon crashing to the ground.

Four evolved warriors, beings at the highest level in the regulated universe, died without needing anything more than Liiza’s influence. She wielded chilling and insidious deadliness, capable of administering it without requiring any visible spell.

Needless to say, the evolved warriors’ charge had attracted the army’s attention, distracting it from the clouds that had encircled the ship and battle formation.

That attention ultimately moved to Liiza, earning her wide and shocked looks. What Khan had done had been incredible and life-saving, but Liiza was several times more terrifying. The lower temperatures Liiza caused were synonymous with death, risking causing permanent trauma on the spot.

Of course, Khan was among those who had ended up staring at Liiza. Still, he experienced very opposite reactions, which the situation didn’t allow him to indulge in.

Liiza didn’t spare the evolved warriors’ crumbled corpses a single look. She also ignored her idiot husband’s glowing gaze, diverting her own as if to search for something.

Khan followed suit, knowing why Liiza had reacted like that. She noticed the same problem he had spotted when he left the ship. True Chaos was everywhere, but neither of them could sense the God.

The problems didn’t end there. The appearance of those four evolved warriors confirmed how Khan and Liiza couldn’t sense anyone else at that level, which was impossible.

The True Chaos’ warriors, Kings, and God had to be there. It was only a matter of finding them, which, apparently, couldn’t be done through heightened senses.

The heavy presence that joined the married couple experienced a similar reaction. Loud steps resounded in the area, pushing away the expanding clouds, blowing them back due to the sheer might wielded by that simple walk.

The Emperor exited the ship, descending one of the metal ramps to stop at the very center of the clouds’ encirclement. He looked around searching for his appointed target, only to find nothing worthwhile.

The other evolved warriors jumped off the ship at that point. The Royal Court, Ilman, Major General Arngan, the four humans, Mazatl, and the others who didn’t belong to the elite team either flew or landed on the black surface, immediately inspecting their surroundings.

The arrival of the allied front’s evolved warriors brought a change to the ship. More of its hull opened, abandoning the protection of the mana barrier to reveal additional heavy weaponry.

Ships could take many forms and purposes, but that Leviathan-class vessel was headed for war. Obviously, the scientific division had arranged with that in mind.

That arrangement didn’t stop at mere weapons. The Kros’ mainframe managed the machines on the ground, while Fuveall were behind, and even connected to some of the new ones peeking out of the hull.

Those Fuveall were also at the evolved level, which the heavy weaponry they were attached to conveyed.

The silver barrels managed by the evolved Fuveall fired without needing direct orders, releasing massive beams that crashed onto the walls of smoke.

Giant discharges of mana pierced the gaseous True Chaos and the environment itself, carving deep grooves on the battlefield, destroying the encirclement.

Anything hit by the beams instantly evaporated, burned down to dust. That terrifying display of power from the pocket universe seemed nothing compared to the allied front’s technological might, but that was merely the beginning.

More smoke oozed out of the destroyed ground, refilling the encirclement. The clouds expanded even further, releasing figures at that time.

Bloated-backed monsters crossed the clouds, releasing more smoke from their horrid protuberances. Horned humanoid figures also accompanied them, seemingly leading respective squads.

However, all the black warriors soon noticed that something was off. They had instinctively disregarded the weapons, focusing on the spot where the enemy evolved warriors had gathered, only to discover that most of them had disappeared.

The surprise was short-lived. After all, that was a world of True Chaos, and the True Chaos was one. Things couldn’t just go unnoticed to those on the side of that glowing smoke.

Nevertheless, blue light shone on the warriors’ faces before they could do anything about that realization, leading to explosions that pierced the layer of clouds once again.

Both the weapons on the ground and from the ship fired a series of volleys before switching to more precision tools.

At the same time, battle cries resounded from the troops on the ground, who charged at chunks of smoke, bloated-backed creatures, and horned warriors that had escaped the fire barrage.

The evolved warriors from the allied front also joined the charging troops, knowing they had to take care of the opponents at the same level on the enemy’s side.

More than that, the allied front’s evolved warriors had to win or create a big enough ruckus to keep the True Chaos’ attention on them and force it to send more reinforcements.

After all, the army’s job wasn’t victory. It couldn’t achieve that when its opponent was a God. However, it could buy time, distracting the annoying hurdles so that its elite team could go after the True Chaos’ real leaders.
