Chapter 2227: The Evolved Ice Worm!

  • Next Chapter

After receiving a positive response from Muu God Monarch, Ling Feng was naturally very excited as he dashed back to his bamboo house.

Since he’d been in the Evil Valley for nearly three months, he wasn’t sure what changes had occurred in the outside world. Ling Feng didn’t want to delay any longer, so he was preparing to tidy up and leave the Evil Valley early the next morning.

“What, leaving the Evil Valley?!”

Ling Feng shared his decision with Yeu Junyao, and she immediately jumped up with excitement, “Haha, finally we’re leaving!”

Yeu Junyao was inherently lively and could hardly bear being confined in the Evil Valley for so long, so she was naturally overjoyed upon hearing Ling Feng’s plan to leave.

But soon, Yeu Junyao furrowed her brows and bit her silver teeth, saying, “But… will those evil people let you leave?”

“I’ve already spoken with my Master, and he agreed!”

Ling Feng smiled slightly and added, “Besides, just because I can’t leave doesn’t mean you can’t leave, right? You chose to come along back then!”

“I!”

Yeu Junyao snorted, glared at Ling Feng fiercely, but her pretty face blushed slightly, “I wanted to, mind your own business!”

“Hehe…”

Ling Feng chuckled foolishly a few times, scratching the back of his head, “I don’t care, I’m too lazy to care…”

“Hmph!”

Yeu Junyao glared at Ling Feng again, then turned and walked into her room, slamming the door shut, ignoring Ling Feng.

She felt that if she spoke a few more words with this stubborn fellow Ling Feng, she’d die of anger.

“Looks like she’s in a good mood today!”

Ling Feng breathed a sigh of relief; at least today, she didn’t kick him out of the bamboo house.

Speaking of women, they’re just trouble!

Shaking his head, Ling Feng immediately stopped thinking too much, packed some of his frequently used items, and found a heavy black pot in the corner.

Frankly, this black pot had really “oppressed” him for quite a while!

Thinking it over, Ling Feng decided to take this black pot with him; it might come in handy someday.

Just then, Ling Feng suddenly noticed a slight disturbance on the other side of the Spirit Storage Ring.

“Hmm?”

Ling Feng squinted his eyes and swept his mind into the space within the Flower Ring.

Under his Divine Sense, he discovered that a giant cocoon had formed among the flowerbeds.

This cocoon was shockingly as big as a human head!

Ling Feng’s eyelids twitched, recalling that this cocoon had formed when the Vermilion Ice Worm spun silk after devouring a Scorpion Fruit. Back then, it was merely palm-sized, but now it had grown more than tenfold.

“Goodness!”

Ling Feng focused his Divine Thought on that enormous cocoon. The Vermilion Ice Worm itself was a rare and strange insect; after a massive toxin devouring, it had already evolved into the Vermilion-eyed Ice Silkworm King.

And this time, the Vermilion Ice Worm had devoured a Scorpion Fruit, once again acquiring an opportunity for evolution.

Ling Feng initially tried refining a Forbidden-breaking Pill using the cocoon just on a whim, and unexpectedly, it was successful.

Afterward, Ling Feng dedicated himself to diligent cultivation daily, eventually leaving the Vermilion Ice Worm behind.

No one had anticipated that after two months, the Vermilion Ice Worm seemed to be fully evolved.

Cracks began appearing on the cocoon.

Crack!

Crack!

The cracks increased, growing larger and larger, until finally, the human-head-sized spherical cocoon split into two with a “crack!”

A green light burst forth from within the cocoon.

Ling Feng’s eyelid twitched slightly, wondering what form the Vermilion Ice Worm would take after evolving!

The saying went, breaking free of a cocoon and becoming a butterfly. Would the Vermilion Ice Worm transform into a butterfly?

Gradually, the green light faded, and from the cocoon, Ling Feng saw first a pair of colorful wings displaying various hues and finally fading into pure, immaculate white.

The wings flapped gently, and finally, a little girl looking carved from jade and incredibly cute emerged from the cocoon.

She appeared four to five years old, with rosy cheeks and big sapphire-like eyes blinking with curiosity as she surveyed the world around her.

Two long antennae extended from her forehead, but apart from that, she looked much like an ordinary human.

“Evolved from a common worm to the Demon Clan?”

Ling Feng narrowed his eyes slightly. Across the entire Xuanling Continent, insects were relatively low-level life forms. Even if some insects possessed considerable talent, they ultimately struggled to transform and evolve into the Demon Clan.

Furthermore, insects typically have low intelligence, and despite their brute strength, most are enslaved and controlled by the Demon or Human Clans, with very few completing their evolution.

Zi Feng was once in insect form, though it wasn’t part of the Insect Clan but an Elemental Life form, unrestricted by its shape.

This little girl evolved from the Vermilion Ice Worm might be the first insect to have successfully evolved into the Demon Clan in a millennium.

The little girl awkwardly flapped her wings, tumbling back into the cocoon after several attempts. But soon she adapted to flying and started inspecting the surrounding flowers and foliage.

Then…

“Nom—”

The little girl began grabbing at the spirit flowers and herbs Ling Feng had planted, devouring them in large mouthfuls.

“Oh no!”

With a thought, Ling Feng hastily summoned the little girl out of the Flower Ring. This little girl, evolved from the Vermilion Ice Worm, might enjoy eating poisonous flowers and herbs, but that didn’t mean she wouldn’t eat spirit flowers and herbs.

If he allowed her to eat freely, she might consume him into poverty.

“Huh?”

Coming out of the Flower Ring, the little girl locked eyes with Ling Feng, blinked her big sapphire eyes, feeling a familiar bond with his aura, and snuggled up to him, rubbing her cheek against his chest.

“Do you remember me?”

Ling Feng lifted the little girl, the Vermilion Ice Worm originally appeared meat-like with no defined gender, and unexpectedly, after evolving, she turned into a little girl.

The little girl blinked at Ling Feng, nodded slightly, then babbled as she tried to mimic speech.

She had just awoken and was like a blank slate, acting solely on instinct.

While in her worm state, she retained little memory, merely sensing Ling Feng’s aura as familiar.

Seeing the little girl’s vacant expression, Ling Feng couldn’t help but smile wryly. It seemed that it would take quite a long time for her to reach an adult level of intelligence.

Luckily, there was plenty of space in the Five Elements Heavenly Palace where she could run wild.
