Chapter 14: Joining The EIA
Chapter 14: Joining The EIA
Zeras sat down there numb, the tea he was about to take a sip from slowing down just an inch from his lips. He was shocked by the two choices as his mind went haywire deciding which was the best choice.
If he chose the first choice, then he could live his life peacefully from henceforth without needing to do anything to survive. He would be able to live a comfortable and relaxed life.
But with the second choice of joining the EIA. Compared to the first, it wasn’t that much appealing.
Looking at the good sides, if he joined the EIA, then he got to follow through with his major goal. The goal of his revenge. But even besides that, there lay a deeper goal within Zeras, a goal that was like a drifting wind behind his mind.
And that was finding his origin. Just who was he? Sure he was an orphan, but who were his parents? If he needed any answers, then simply living a comfortable life wouldn’t do any good.
Then there was the system. It was a source of great power. A once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to achieve his goals. Is he willing to forego all this just to live a peaceful life?
The world is not safe. Even the EIA who he considered heroes of Earth couldn’t take care of everything. More than a thousand people were turned into experimental subjects and brutally killed. Who knows how many of these bases are there in the entire universe?
There are worlds and aliens besides humanity. The universe is limitless with someplace out there that has not even been discovered yet. Is he willing to leave all that and be comfortable living his remaining life within the comfort of a house?
The two choices were greater than they appeared, it was a decision of either forfeiting his goal and living a peaceful and safe life or embracing his goals and living a life of always threading between the line of life and death.
Commander Shiron who sat opposite Zeras looked at him with amusement as he sipped his tea without saying a word giving Zeras time to think of his decision.
Zeras slowly exhaled as he made his decision staring into Commander Shiron’s green eyes.
“I choose to join the EIA.”
A smile that almost widened in Commander Shiron’s ears appeared as he let out a small chuckle.
“I have allowed you to live a peaceful life or to follow your goals. And you chose to forfeit a peaceful life to accomplish your goals instead. You have earned my approval, son.” Commander Shiron said staring into his blue eyes with a glint in his eyes.
Zeras looked at him with a strange expression as he saw the man was strangely genuinely happy for his decision. Something he didn’t know the reason for.
“You’re lucky son. I’m also taking my granddaughter to the EIA trial grounds. Since you chose to join the EIA, then we’re on point l. I’ll simply drop you there too.
You can use this one week to familiarize yourself with the world before we arrive there.” Commander Shiron said as two gigantic books appeared in his hands before .
throwing it towards Zeras who caught it.
Zeras was surprised hearing the man was the grandfather of that girl he saw as he was incredibly young looking like a 45-year-old man, but his real age could as well be over 70.
He looked at the book in his hands as he smiled happily. This was just what he needed right now.
“You can take any room you want in the place. Just stay far away from the Northern side of the spaceship if you want to avoid trouble. And if there’s something you don’t understand in the book, you can always find me here.” The man said with a chuckle as Zeras bowed towards him deeply before moving outside.
The door slammed shut as the smile on Commander Shiron’s face disappeared before appearing once again.
“O Celestria family, it seems you have another enemy right on your back again and I can tell he’s determined to take you down. I wonder how this would play out…” Commander Shiron said taking a sip as he closed his eyes relishing the taste.
Zeras appeared outside the long corridor again as he moved towards the South direction of the place. He didn’t know why he was told to avoid the North, but he didn’t care much.
Arriving in the North direction, he could already see the rooms as he opened one of them and entered the place.
The book he was holding immediately fell from his hands as his mouth opened to form an ‘O’ sound.
This… is this only a spaceship?
