Chapter 537: Chapter 535:Make it Painful..

"...that’s how it all happened."

I kept quiet, my eyes locked onto her trembling ones.

"I awoke in Big Brother’s arms. He hadn’t moved from his position since he’d brought me down there, said he was waiting... waiting for me to see what had become of my misery."

"It was horrific, what Big Brother did. It was perhaps the most violent thing I’d ever witnessed in my life, but at that moment, only gratitude and relief were what I could feel. For finally, truly, I knew I was safe, because with Big Brother and Valen there, nothing—not even heaven or hell—would ever hurt me again." She tried to act strong, but—

"And Father spared the Drakens." My voice was low, but she seemed to have felt the seething rage beneath it.

"He did it... for my sake. I hadn’t wanted to leave the family for good with the stain of being an eternal sinner."

I held back the words threatening to escape my mouth.

Family? Bullshit! My thoughts spiraled. If only I could pull myself into the afterlife and bring back those bastards! Their deaths had been too simple. It truly had been. For the pain and trauma they’d forced my Aunt V to go through...

"Dante..." her voice cut through my violent thoughts as her hands came over mine.

"You promised... you promised you wouldn’t look at me differently." She pleaded, her eyes misting over.

"Aunt V... their deaths... my carnage... it had been too easy." I let her know my thoughts.

"But you can rest easy... you’ve paid them back unknowingly. Both for me and for Big Brother. Their ends have come by their own doings, so please..."

I remained silent for a few more moments before finally opening my mouth.

"When did you find out... about Mel’s conception?"

She went quiet, an arm reaching toward her stomach as her eyes lost focus.

"It wasn’t until a few weeks later that I realized what had happened, and I was devastated." Her body shook subtly. "To think that animal had dared leave a seed within me. I couldn’t bear it, couldn’t take the painful reminder of what the child was going to become. A reminder of my moment of shame. Of weakness. So I decided to take it out, but..."

"But you couldn’t..."

"I couldn’t." She sighed. "At the end of the day, the child was more mine than it was that animal’s, so I determined to raise her myself—raise her into a self-sufficient and powerful woman who would never in her lifetime encounter the same fate I’d had. And luckily, I had a close-knit group to help me through my difficult times. Dakota, Clarissa, and Seraphina being some of the reasons I was ever able to get back on my feet after those traumatic events."

A small, fragile smile ghosted her face as she looked into my eyes. "They saved me from myself, and I’m glad they did. For had they not, then I would’ve missed out on the amazing daughter I brought into this world. My pride and joy, Melissa."

Her smile this time was one of motherly warmth as she seemed to, for that brief instant, forget her traumatic experiences and just bask in the pleasure of being a mother.

"Did you... did you tell her?"

Her expression broke at my question as she nodded.

"I did. I never hide anything from my daughter. She knows all that there is to know about me."

"And her reaction?"

"Haa... she said I should’ve gone through with it. That I shouldn’t have birthed her. That I shouldn’t have to go through all that horror over and over again just by looking at her."

"Haa... just like I thought." I wasn’t surprised by Aunt V’s response. Melissa was just like that. She’d be thinking of her mother’s well-being while ignoring the fact that she was condemning her own birth in the process.

"I made sure she knows that she is a constant source of healing and joy, but I am sure, till today, it must still bother her. I am just glad she... she can’t see me like this."

Aunt V trembled once more, but—

"Never." I pulled her into a deep hug.

"Dante..."

"Never again, Aunt V." My voice was as warming as it could be as I shoved my rage deep down.

"Shaia... can it be done?"

"As easily as you breathe, my love."

"Will it affect both of them? Aunt V and Melissa?"

"All parties still aware of that event shall be affected, my love."

"Then I am assured, but first..."

"You’ve felt it already, haven’t you?"

Aunt V remained silent.

"This body of yours. The bloodline endowment changed you completely. Your body has been remade from the purest essence of the Absolute bloodline. The marks of that filth mar you no more."

Her shoulders shook softly.

"Dante..."

"This is just the beginning, Aunt V. I have made it so your body doesn’t remember the touch of that filth, and now, I need you to sleep—sleep knowing that when you wake up, it will have all been like nothing ever happened."

"Dante? What are you...?"

Her eyes slowly closed as I denied the concept of consciousness from her, putting her to sleep.

"Sleep well, Aunt V. I promise you, it’ll all be fine once you wake up."

I placed a gentle kiss on her forehead as I adjusted her body on the bed, making sure she was comfortable.

"Da..n..te.."

Her eyes finally closed in blissful slumber as the warmth on my face faded the moment I confirmed her unconsciousness.

I stood up. The murderous intent I’d been holding back was finally let go as the environment around us turned dark.

"Master..." Elira called out.

"My love..." came Shaia’s voice.

"Bastard..." came Sana’s voice.

They’d heard it all. They’d seen Aunt V’s plight, and they knew clearly what I was about to do. To that, all they had to say was:

"Make it painful."

I nodded, my body vanishing from the spot as I reappeared within the outer region of space.

The carnage had already concluded, and all around me, there was nothing but darkness. The entirety of the Omni-Galaxy had been reduced to pure darkness as the guys had finally completed their cleanup.

I turned, surveying the gathered lineup of Calderan family members, their numbers reaching the high hundreds of thousands. These were all people who bore even a trace of the true Omni-beast suppression bloodline.

I ignored them, turning toward Leo and the still-silent Aaron, whose jaw had been prevented from recovering.

I waved, and the man was restored to full health, yet before he could speak, I wrapped my hand around his face, cutting his words short.

"Leo," I called out.

"Hmm." The chicken-cat nodded.

"Make it hurt. Make their agony something that will make them wish for a death you shall never grant. Slow and painful." I ordered.

"Consider it done." He answered.

Nodding in satisfaction, I finally made my move, disappearing from the spot and taking the animal with me. It was finally time for a proper punishment.

A/N: oh you thought I was done? That was just a fucking clone!!! The real bastard still needs his own comeuppance, and Dante is about to deliver one arguably nastier than regulus’s, so brace yourselves, and as always,
