Chapter 530: Chapter 528:Say your prayers.

"Big brother!!! Big brother!!!" Lucien’s cry resounded through the room as he shook Dante’s immobile body.

"Is... is someone there?" The man muttered, unable to even register his surroundings.

"Umm... should we be concerned?" Elira asked, looking at the slumped figures littered all around them.

"Nope. Let that bastard reap the fruits of his labors." Sana smirked, clearly enjoying the moment.

"Mo... Mommy Raven... Big brother isn’t moving. He’s speaking weird words; Lucien can’t understand anything." Lucien turned toward Raven, the woman’s form having long since changed.

Her hair had transformed into a curtain of pure darkness. Behind her rotated a halo of impossible darkness that destabilized the integrity of the reality around them with every churn. Her skin had taken on a paler hue, her fingers elongated into darkened claws, while multiple dark purple lines—not too different from Dante’s marks of oblivion—ran along the sides of her body, specifically her left thigh and right arm. Her eyes had become pure spiral darkness as her cold gaze locked onto the sprawled-out figures of Dante and the others.

They hadn’t even been able to register what hit them.

Dante had suddenly found himself split into an impossible number of tiny pieces, denial being more of a bane than a blessing as, whenever he recovered, he was subjected right back to the same pain. But even then, he was the lucky one.

Salazar had tried escaping into an alternate reality, but one pull from Raven, and the apostle was locked into this reality with no escape and a very angry mother facing him. Begging was obviously useless, and the Chronari was now only a few inches from giving up the ghost.

Paku, the raging behemoth, was calmed down faster than Lucien could blink as the furball was reduced to, well, exactly that: a furball.

Leo—poor Leo, the apostle of despair—had somehow finally encountered something more dreadful than children’s entertainment: an angry mother.

"No more... no more... no more..." The origin of despair itself was currently crouched on all fours, eyes wide in horror as he kept muttering the same words over and over again.

Shulvan had already been turned into a very interesting crimson stain on the walls; his exact condition no one really could tell.

As for Xuan, the man had luckily been able to plead his case, but on account of being Dante’s friend, was still considered guilty. His punishment was considerably lighter, as he was only forced into a separate dimension to fight an angry space monster—as a mortal, of course. How benevolent of Raven.

"I... I think I like her." Su Yin couldn’t help but comment lightly, a strange sense of satisfaction welling up within her as she saw the shameless group finally suffer some repercussions.

"Heh! Don’t worry, this is just the first phase. Let the other crazies wake up and hear what happened. These guys are definitely about to have the worst days of their lives." Sana laughed, not caring one bit for the misery of her lover and his friends.

"Lucien," Raven called out, catching the little kid who was still trying to shake his brother awake from entering the great beyond.

"Yes?" The child turned, his head tilted in confusion.

"Don’t say those bad words again, you hear me?"

"Which words, Mommy?"

"Those ones."

"You mean f—"

"I said don’t!"

"Yes!!!" The kid complied instantly as his memory wiped the words from his head as a protective mechanism.

"Good. Now come, let’s go watch something together and let these fools get their act together."

"Okay!!!" Like the greatest turncoat ever, the child immediately abandoned his big brother at the thought of watching fun shows with his Mommy Raven and big sisters.

"Are... are they finally gone?" Leo’s voice rang in my head as the chicken-cat asked subtly.

"Please... please tell me they’re gone," Paku begged, unwilling to go through the horror of being in Aunt V’s presence again.

"She’s gone... but I say we give it a few more moments just to be sure."

I hadn’t even finished speaking when an eerie black eye ripped open within the space above us, our bodies going stiff at once.

"Damn... Aunt V, can’t you let me breathe?"

I had to force my body to be still, unwilling to attract any attention to myself. The woman seemed hellbent on making sure we suffered for our sins, and now here we were, playing hooky to avoid any more punishment.

The eye in the sky stayed for a few moments before finally fading away.

"Can we move now?" Malachi asked.

"Are you dumb? You think she’ll give up after one sweep? We wait," I ordered as we remained in our positions.

And just like I thought, the eye returned three times more before I felt her gaze truly withdraw from the room.

"Ahhhh!! Finally." I slumped, stretching my body to get the numbness out.

"Fuck! That was scary!" Paku cursed, but—

BANG!!!

"Owww!!! Motherfu—"

BANG! BANG! BANG!

"Bastard!! Still dare to curse? What if the kid somehow hears? Do you want to get us killed for real?" I couldn’t help berating the clueless idiot.

"But they’re not even here. How the hell is the kid going to hear us? Think he’s got the ears for it?"

"I don’t give a damn how he can hear us, but I’d rather be safe than sorry. No more cussing from anyone so long as the kid is even on the same planet as us," I ordered.

"Says the guy most likely to cuss out someone first," Malachi sneered.

"Monkey, I’m about to shove my foot up your hairy behind, you bastard."

"See?"

"Ughh... Dante, I didn’t think becoming your friend involved getting hurt this much," Xuan groaned, finally being let out from the separate dimension by Salazar.

The emperor was in tatters. His body was bloodied and badly battered.

"Haa... Xuan, old buddy, you look terrible."

"And whose fault is that?!"

"Haa... stop yelling. We all paid the price together, so stop being dramatic."

"This bastard..."

"Master..." Shulvan knelt on one knee, the man finally unstaining himself from the wall Aunt V had made him intimate with.

"Shulvan, finally met your match, eyy?" I laughed.

"I have no comments, Master. I dare not raise my hands against your partners," he replied, still not standing up.

"Alright, alright, you can stop now. Stand."

"By your grace."

I looked around at the faces surrounding me. They looked exhausted to death—tired and scarred, Leo especially, as the chicken-cat was still muttering weird things.

"Alright, fellas! Snap out of your trauma. We’ve got a lot of business to deal with now."

At my words, the mood within the room shifted. The exhaustion and tiredness vanished from their faces like a mirage as solemn and excited expressions appeared all over them.

"Is it finally that time of the day?" Malachi asked, excitement clear in his voice.

"Yes." I stood up, folding my hands behind my back.

"It’s time to eradicate the Calderan family."
