Chapter 524: Chapter 522:She’s back!

I waited until Sana drifted into a deep sleep, the exhaustion overwhelming her as I finally moved, gently so as not to wake up the sleeping beauty.

"Sleep well, my stubborn beauty." Giving her a kiss on the forehead, a pair of pants materialized around my lower body as I got ready to return to the battlefield.

The fight should’ve ended ages ago, but I trusted Shulvan enough to make sure the entire place was on lockdown before I returned.

Was I going to get chewed out by the others for going off to have a nice little intimate moment with Sana while they were in the middle of carrying out the order I’d given to heal her?

Probably.

Would I still do it anyway if the things were reversed?

Absolutely.

"You know you’re just asking to be sexually assaulted at this point, right?" Shaia’s amused voice cut through my thoughts as I paused.

"Assaulted? By who?"

"Oh, I don’t know. Maybe Clarissa, who has been clamoring about having you fuck her since forever? Or Dakota, that unhinged vampire who is probably going to go feral the moment she realizes someone else beat her to the punch. Let’s not forget that sneaky little dark elf—she might finally lose her patience after seeing someone else jump the queue."

"You say all this like I’m some obtainable piece of meat to be shared around by you ladies." I laughed.

"In a sense, you probably are, because even your weapon spirit is most likely to jump you if you don’t satisfy her soon."

"All in due time, my love. The more they wait, the more exciting it’s going to be."

"Even if you’re inevitably assaulted?"

"Especially if that’s what happens. Just imagine the ferocity they’ll bring to the bed. Ahhh... I’m already getting excited thinking about it."

"Damn... I forgot who I was talking to for a moment. Never mind all I just said." She sighed, her voice wry.

"Hahahaha... Don’t worry, I won’t forget about you. I’ll be leaving everyone satisfied; there’s enough Dante to go around."

Laughing loudly, I willed it, and spatial displacement took me away.

.....

"Hello every—"

WOOOOOSHHHHH!

The wind hit me first before the staff even landed as Malachi attacked before I could even get the words out.

"Oi!!!" I had to move back instantly to avoid the space-cracking strike, but I wasn’t safe yet.

"MOTHERFUCKER!" A raging Paku had already thrown a punch that caved in the surrounding space.

I tried to move, but—

"Time loop."

The reality around me fractured and connected into one looping sequence—a sequence where—

Bang! Bang! Bang!

Paku’s attack connected without stopping.

"Look, guys, I can—" I tried to explain as I appeared outside the loop, leaving the time echo of my past there to continue getting pummeled, but I still wasn’t given the chance to speak.

"Return to despair."

Leo’s creepy voice resounded right next to my ears like the bastard had already somehow crept up on me.

"Fuck!" I countered at once, despair clashing against despair as the attacks canceled each other out.

"Alright, enough!"

It wasn’t a request, but an order spoken to reality itself, intent on forcing the guys to a halt. But I had forgotten—

"AAAAAAAABSSSSSOOOOOLLLLLUUUTTTTEEEEE!"

ROOOOOOOOOOOARRRRRRRRRRR!

There was a raging beast that didn’t do too well with being told what to do.

"Not this time, you prick."

A golden monkey too prideful to listen to shit.

"Dissonant Existence."

A time-obsessed Chronari who kept finding more creative ways to mess with time. And—

"Fear’s banquet."

A golden, despair-inducing griffon.

Four figures that didn’t do too well with orders, trying to enforce one’s will.

Now, I could go the easy route—using my authority as the master of the apostles to force their hands, explain myself, and hopefully make them understand, or—

"Heh! Bring it, you motherfuckers. I needed a good stretch after all that work."

The hard way it is, then.

ROOOOOOOOOARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!

BOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!

The structural integrity Salazar had been trying to maintain all this while shattered the moment we collided as reality blinked and everything went white...

....

"Ugh... fuck."

Malachi groaned as the Apostle of Pride lay flat on his face, unable to move even a finger.

"Da... damn it!!"

Paku roared, still angry, but now firmly grounded in a spatial lock that increased its weight the angrier he got, forcing the raging behemoth to his knees as well, unable to move under the sheer weight of his own fury.

Salazar I had trapped in a fractured timeline. He wanted to play with time, so I showed him how to do so properly.

As for the Apostle of Despair—

"No... please. No more kids’ shows. I’ll do anything, please put me out of my misery!"

Lucien had already shown me what worked best on the griffon—what made the Apostle of Despair itself fall into absolute despair.

"The emperor rushed onward on his flying sword as he got ready to vanquish the evil dragon!"

The voice of the showman rang through the screen as both Lucien and Leo sat down in utter fascination. At least, one of them was.

"Heh! You bastards willing to listen now?"

"Fu... fuck you!" Malachi managed.

"Ab... absolute... grrrr." Paku.

"...." Salazar remained silent not like he could speak even if he wanted too.

Well, not like I was expecting the hardheads to agree either way.

"Yes! Yes! Anything, just please free me from this torture."

"Eyy? Brother cat? You don’t like spending time with Lucien?"

The little man immediately pulled the puppy-dog eyes as tears began gathering at the edges of his vision—an obvious threat. If Leo said one more wrong word, the child was bound to cry, and he would have to deal with a fairly angry group of women.

"Ughh... little Lucien, it’s not that, it’s just..." the chicken-cat tried defending himself, but—

Sniffle... sniffle...

"Bro... brother cat... brother cat doesn’t like... hic... brother hates Lucien."

The little one was an instant away from bursting into tears when—

"No! No! I’ll stay, I’ll stay! Let’s watch the stupid show together."

Leo folded like wet laundry.

"YAAAYYY!!!! Brother cat loves Lucien!!!"

The excited little one jumped up, landing hard atop the griffon’s head, shrinking down to size as he focused back on the show with newfound enthusiasm. Meanwhile, I could see Leo’s soul leaving his body as the poor fella was in for a turbulent few hours.

"Heh! That’ll teach you bastards to bite off more than you can chew." I laughed, pleased with how I handled the issue before turning to the silent Shulvan.

"Yo—"

I had barely completed my greeting before the dude fell to his knee in his usual dramatic fashion.

"Master. Your servant has completely carried out your will."

"Haa, of course." I sighed, shaking my head at his antics. "You’ve done well, Shulvan. You can stand."

"As you will, Master." He bowed before standing back up.

"So, what’s up with him?" I asked, addressing the Harbinger, who was busy slamming his head into the solidified spatial floor, not caring that he was only a few more hits away from cracking open his skull.

"I sentenced the insect to eternal worship of your benevolence, Master."

"Uhhh... okay?"

Not sure I wanted to even know how that scenario came about, I turned to Xuan, who wore a brilliant and satisfied smile as he held the lifeless body of the Calderan youth steady. His body was battered and beaten, but the man didn’t care as he glowed with visible delight.

"Heh! Looks like you’re one step away from truly purging the filth from your high planar galaxies." I smiled, addressing him.

"Indeed. And after this, I intend to go full force."

"There’ll be no need for that." I shook my head gently.

"Huh? Why?"

"Because I’m done playing around."

The experience had been fun, but the appearance of the apostle and these Harbingers just reminded me that I still had moving pieces out there that needed removing, so it was time I got moving myself.

"Hey, Xuan," I called out to the still-confused emperor.

"Yeah?"

"Hope you don’t mind if I collect your high planar galaxies."

"Collect my what?"

"Don’t worry, you’ll still be emperor. I just need this entire cluster to return to its original place, which is me."

"Dante, what are you talking about?"

"I’m talking about," I placed my hand onto reality itself, "this."

I willed it, and my origins stirred, Devour burning through me as I finally got ready to acquire these galaxies. But—

"Hmm... to think I’m finally getting out, but you’re about to become busy."

A beautiful voice stopped me cold as my brows rose and my eyes widened.

Craaack!!

A soft crack echoed through my soul, followed by the blinding flash of a brilliant dark light.

"Hello, little D. Did you miss me?"

My shock gave way to a genuine smile as warmth overflowed through my being.

"Heh! Of course I did..."
