Chaos Devourer System: My Classless Ascension
Chapter 451 - 449:Heading Back
Chapter 451: Chapter 449:Heading Back
Silence was all that remained within nothingness as the middle-aged-looking manifestation of the realm looked on at the spot Dante and Shaia had just disappeared from.
"It amuses me what you believe you can achieve with what you just did." A sudden voice shattered the silence around as the realm fluctuated and a being slowly appeared.
With hair that looked like it was made from every color to ever exist, both real and imaginary, and eyes a pool of swirling colors that pulled one in without any hope of releasing them once they were trapped.
He stood at the same height that the middle-aged-looking being did. A plain and expressionless look on his face.
"Heh! If it isn’t my dear brother." Nothingness laughed.
"I am not your brother. I never was. You merely coined that term to push away the loneliness you felt during your days of nothing." The being replied with a voice that was neither cold nor warm.
"Ahh... but it cannot be so. You were born alongside me. We are both just different sides of the same coin, so you are indeed my brother, and trying to say otherwise just looks petty on you." Nothingness shook his head with a small smile.
"You have not answered my question."
"Hmm? Did you ask a question? My memory must be failing me. Old age, you know what they say."
"I am the totality of all there was, all there is, and all there ever will be. That little fledgling cannot do anything to me. Your attempts will only end in failure." The being that had appeared, Allness, spoke out in certainty.
"That is what you said about Devouring, that little girl, yet you never dared to make a move against her." Nothingness replied with a small smile.
Allness fell silent at his words.
"All you could do was wait and scheme with the others, all in an attempt to take out one weakened existence." Shaking his head in disappointment, Nothingness continued, "I am truly disappointed in you, brother."
Another heavy silence fell between the two beings as neither seemed in a hurry to speak.
"The others, they shall eventually know. Your attempts at hindering me will end up in futility, because when they do, they shall spare no effort to hunt him down." Allness broke the silence once more.
"Hindering you? Such falsehood. I am merely making sure we both make up for lost time; after all, we haven’t seen each other since then, so why not catch up a bit?" Nothingness shrugged casually.
"I shall be watching, and the moment you slip up, I shall nip that bud in its infancy, take what should’ve been mine, then break out of this cage. And once I do, the first thing I devour in totality shall be you, dear brother." Allness slowly vanished from the realm as his words trailed behind him, "Watch yourself, O Nothingness, for I shall be watching you." And then, gone.
Silence returned to the realm once more as Nothingness stood within his domain, eyes looking at nothing yet everything all the same.
"You’re getting rusty, old friend." A voice, calm and wizened, echoed through the realm.
"Ahh.. Sam, you were here?" Nothingness smiled.
"After you invited me personally, I really couldn’t decline, could I?" The voice chuckled.
"Hehehe.. so, what do you think? Is it possible?" Nothingness asked.
"The child... I have no records of him predating his conception. And even after that, I see nothing. Fated sees nothing. Causality, she sees nothing. Even Destiny, all she sees is darkness ahead. The vision hasn’t changed. It never did." The one called Sam spoke out in cryptic words only understandable to Nothingness itself.
The being fell silent once again as he brought a finger to his chin. "The end, huh?" Nothingness muttered quietly. "Alright then. Time is meaningless to us, so we shall wait. Let us see if truly there exists an end to even infinity, and maybe, just maybe, we’ll finally understand just what and why we are." Saying so, his form dissolved as the realm returned to what it was meant to be. Nothing.
...
...
It didn’t even feel like we had moved, because one moment we were receiving a jarring revelation from my eccentric father-in-law, and the next, we were back where we left.
"Ahh... the bastard is back!" I wasn’t even given time to adjust properly before the annoying voice of the monkey reached my ears.
A smile couldn’t help but curl up the edges of my lips once I registered his words, my attention turning toward them.
"So, you motherfuckers. How long was that? Did anybody keep count?" The budding smile on my face was instantly wiped away at Paku’s words.
"Nah.. I dozed off. Got bored waiting." Leo yawned, covering his beak with a wing.
"These motherfuckers... again?" Were these bastards really betting on whether I was going to come out again?
"Oyy! Lackey Number One, care to tell us how long it took your oh-so-precious master to return?" Malachi turned toward the silent Sulvan, voice clearly mocking, but—
"I do not expect a primitive simian to understand Master’s greatness, so your mockery means nothing, you glorified baboon. You should be grateful Master doesn’t have prejudices against overgrown apes."
"Damn!! Yo, that hurt even me, and I wasn’t even the target."
"Fuck!! Malachi! Malachi!! Are you still alive?? Speak to me!!" Leo and Paku didn’t miss a beat, they were right on the monkey’s ass the moment Sulvan had finished chewing him out.
"Fuck!! This bastard!!!" The monkey gritted his teeth so hard I could hear them creaking.
My smile only widened even further as I watched the group interact, and then,
"Hahahahahahahahahahaha!!!" I laughed, a sudden sense of relief washing over me. This was it. These were my people. Even though it hadn’t been that long, it still felt refreshing being back within this group of crazy people.
"Why’s the bastard laughing?" Paku.
"Must have thought of something funny." Malachi.
"Like your face?" Leo.
"Fuck you, you goddamn chicken-cat." And so began another fight between the three. Shulvan, the instigator, somehow disengaged himself from the tangle as he appeared before me, falling onto one knee.
"My master.." he called out, pulling me from my laughter.
"Hmm. Shulvan, you’ve done well." I complimented. It wasn’t until now that I was feeling all they’d done, the abilities they used. And I was impressed, especially with this guy, he truly hadn’t disappointed me.
"Your praise is worth a million lifetimes, my master. If I have to obliterate a million more delusional fools for one more such compliment, then I shall wholly comply. Point me to my next massacre, O master of mine."
BANG!!
A kick to the face was the only reply he received as I sent his body flying through space.
Give a guy a compliment and he turns the whole thing into a weird ass-kissing scenario.
"Like you don’t like it when people suck up to you." Sana’s voice reverberated through my head as I finally came to.
"Sana.. are you..."
"I am... fine. I am fine.. thank—"
"What’s that? I couldn’t hear you."
"If you would let me finish, I was saying thank—"
"What? Can you speak a bit louder? You sound like you’re constipated. Is it your time of the month?"
"Hooo... hooo... as.. as I was saying, I just wanted to thank—"
"What was—"
"YOU FUCKING BASTARD!!!! CAN YOU JUST SHUT UP AND LET ME TALK??? WHY ARE YOU SO INSUFFERABLE?? DO YOU GET HARD ON FRUSTRATING MY LIFE? FUCKING BASTARD!!!"
"And she takes the bait so easily." Terra.
"Honestly, she’s just too cute to bully; I can’t really blame Dante for this one." Shaia.
"You guys... you.. all of you... AHHHHHH!! FUCK THIS SHIT!! I’M GOING BACK TO READING!" And with that, her connection was swiftly cut off, but I could still feel it, her emotions, they had finally stabilized. Whatever it was that caused her to freeze upon seeing those beings, it had finally been taken care of.
"You’re welcome, my cute Sana. And whenever you’re ready, we can talk about how we’re going to get back at those fuckers for ever daring to cause you such trauma." I didn’t know if she was listening, but I just had to say it.
"Alright fellas, I need to—"
"Humph! You won’t get to me that easily..." I guess that was her way of saying yes.
"Hahahaha..." I couldn’t help but laugh at the cute antics of the tower spirit, finally focusing on the boys and what I wanted to do before we head back.
"Alright fellas, I’ve got something for Leo here." I called out to Leo as I held my palm out.
"Me? What’s that?"
"Something to make you even more terrifying." A spark of dull, sickening yellow lit up on my palm as horrible wails began filling this region of space.
The other two, Malachi and Paku, distanced themselves the moment the yellow spark appeared, but Leo—
"Fascinating." The golden griffon was entranced.
"Heh! Just like I guessed." It would seem my very own Apostle of Despair had a very strong affinity with the essence of the Apostle of Fear.
Yes. The spark on my palm was the condensed essence of the Apostle of Fear, and I was about to bestow it upon my own Apostle of Despair.
"Time for another upgrade, you chicken-cat." I smiled as I tossed the ball at the griffon, his form being covered by a sickly yellow cocoon as his aura slowly grew.
"Alright, since that’s done, I guess it’s time we finally go back. Salazar must be bored sick by now." I smiled softly as spatial displacement was invoked and our figures were swiftly taken away from the cold reach of space, back to the beautiful oceanic planet behind us.
It was time to finally get the show moving again.
