Chapter 426: Chapter 424:I’m listening.

"Shaia... how do I look?" I asked out loud as I looked at the impossibly dashing figure staring back at me through the mirror.

"You know, people often ask this in need of honest feedback, but you, you just want me to feed your ego, don’t you?"

"What do you expect from a man too stuck up in his own vanity?" Sana.

"You know? I’m honestly not sure I like the fact that I’ve got two people speaking in my head now." I shook my head, already tired before even getting out the door.

Here I was, getting ready for a date, and these two ladies had decided to make me their target of aggression.

"Not aggression, my love, call it a reality check instead." Shaia.

"Nope. Mine is definitely purely aggression. The bastard deserves it." Sana.

"You two should stop being rude to Husband." Finally, a reasonable voice. "You look dashing, Husband, just like always."

"Why, thank you, Terra. At least SOMEONE is sensible here," I replied without an ounce of exaggeration.

"Heh! Of course you’ll be appreciative of the simp." Sana.

"At least I’m not a glorified refugee." Terra.

"Oof... that was a hard one. Aiya... Sana, dear, are you alright?" Shaia.

I couldn’t even begin to bring myself to care about the fight that was about to burst out, especially not with the amount of aggression I could feel from Sana, so I did the only wise thing to do at this point.

"WHY YOU FUCKING—"

I muted the three women. Whatever happened next had nothing to do with me.

"Alright then, let’s go meet a pretty lady." I smiled to myself in the mirror one last time, my eyes being something I just couldn’t get enough of.

Finally done admiring myself, I finally got going, spatial displacement taking me straight to the front door of a very beautiful building.

Liz, apparently, wanted everything to feel exactly like an actual date, so she had requested I set up a building she’d use as her house for this outing.

Who am I to argue with woman logic? If she said she needed it, then she did.

Ring~~

Pushing the doorbell, a soft chime sounded through the building, followed by the soft sounds of approaching footsteps.

Creak~

Giving off a soft creaking noise, the door finally opened and my breath was stolen away by the view.

Radiant.

She truly was.

With an immaculate white dress draped elegantly around her bountiful figure, every curve was accentuated in a way that was both graceful and impossible to ignore. Her beautiful hair flowed around her like calm waves, framing a face that seemed almost too perfect to be real.

But it was her eyes that stole everything.

Pure, pristine white. Beautiful beyond reason. They held an almost ethereal innocence that made it impossible to look away.

She was simply... breathtaking.

"Dante... you’re here." Her voice finally broke me from my trance as I gave a heartfelt smile.

"You look... stunning."

"Hehehe... I do? Thank you. I put in a lot of work, I’m glad you like it. Hehehe..."

"Well, your work paid off, because I’m truly stunned by your beauty."

"Hehehe... he likes it. He likes it. Hehehehe... Dante likes me. Dante likes me...."

Ahh, there was that familiar crazy muttering Liz I’d missed.

I shook my head, amused.

"So, ready to begin our date?"

She snapped out of her daze. "Of course. But where are we going?"

"Where, huh?" I hadn’t even thought about it this far. In my head, we’d just do whatever came to mind, but then again, on second thought: "I’ve never quite seen all Terra has to offer. I mean, I’ve only been to a very few significant locations, so why don’t we make this a tour date and see the world?" I asked.

"Of course. That sounds lovely."

"Alright then." I stretched forth my arm. "My lady, shall we?"

"Hehehe..." Laughing gently, she took my arm and then: "Let’s shall."

With a thought, spatial displacement took us away, and so began a date of sightseeing and playful banter.

From Bright Sun City in the eastern domain of the human continent, all the way to the dwarven chambers of the northern continent, we made sure we visited each and every single place we could.

It was a very hearty moment. I’d never thought of Liz as someone who would be this cheerful and hearty, but time with her was never a dull moment.

From her naive, childlike curiosity to her surprisingly deeply caring personality, the way she handled all the annoying kids we came across, you’d think she was made for taking care of children. All I could do throughout the entire time was watch an amazing woman be free. Be herself. Have fun. And before you knew it, time had flown by like the ebbing of the waves.

....

....

"Hahahahahaha... that was fun. I’ve not had that much fun in a while. Dante, thank you!" Liz jumped me the moment we arrived at the lakeside view we’d heard about from a local in a supreme city of the northern continent, successfully plunging the both of us deep inside the waters.

"Hehehehehe..." Her joyful laughter rang out like the tingling of bells.

I honestly couldn’t even be mad if I wanted to. I was having too much fun myself.

When was the last time I’d let go like this? Just be me? Just be human? With all that’s been happening with me and around me, were it not for the fact that I’ve got a very persistent itinerary of people around me, I’d have lost my mind, because no matter how much I’d like to act like it didn’t bother me, it was impossible for it not to.

But right now, seeing the peaceful and innocent expression on Liz’s face, recalling all the wild antics and adventures we’d had during these short few hours, those worries lessened even further.

"Heh!" I chuckled, unable to fight the urge any longer, before: "Hahahahahahahahahhaha!!!" I burst out laughing as well, our voices echoing deep into the sky as the day finally wore on and night fell upon us.

...

...

"Dante?" Liz called out from on top of me.

"Mmhmm..." I answered.

We had made the lake into a sort of water bed, as the both of us were too lazy to bother getting out of it.

"Can I tell you something?"

I paused. Her voice, it was low, worried.

"Haa..." I sighed. I knew this conversation was coming. Even if only fragments, some things from during my rampage at the Draken family grounds were slowly returning to me, and of those, the most prominent, aside from the fools that dared touch my Mel, was undoubtedly...

"You know I don’t really care, right? To me, you’re Liz. My fun, crazy, and somewhat delirious Liz. So you don’t have to if you don’t want to, nothing will change," I assured her.

I could feel her body tremble softly as she snuggled even deeper into my embrace.

"I know..." Her voice had stabilized, the worry gone. "I know, Dante. But I still need to get it off my chest, for only then will I feel like I’m allowed to be yours truly."

I remained silent for a moment before I finally sat up.

We adjusted our positions on the water bed as we faced each other. Her face was downcast, whatever it was she was about to tell me, clearly it had its own burden weighing heavily on her heart.

I wanted to tell her no. It wasn’t necessary. But one look in her eyes, and I couldn’t speak those words.

The conviction to lay it all down, that’s all I saw. And so, I swallowed back down my earlier words, before,

"Alright, Liz. I’m listening," urging her on.

It was time to finally get some clear answers on what was going on with my beautiful companion.

A/N: YASSSSSSSS!!!! Finally!!! A way to move this relationship forward! Bless the stars. Ahahahahahaha... now all that remains is hope. I’ll get there, soon. Anyways...
