Chapter 305 - 303:Yes or No?
Chapter 305: Chapter 303:Yes or No?
"So, Dante, mind telling me now why exactly you’re dressed like that?" Mira asked as we waited within a grand reception hall, a slew of guards and elders of the Elowyn family gathered together.
The sheer amount of power radiating from the people gathered here would be enough to drown the entire eastern continent within seconds, and that’s with them just releasing it passively.
At Mira’s words, the attention of the crowd finally turned towards me.
"What do you mean?" I asked, standing at the very forefront in pure excitement, almost as if waiting for a long lost family member.
"I mean, why are you wearing your academy uniform?"
"Why can’t I wear my academy uniform? You’re wearing my clothes, did I ever ask you why?"
"Like I said, they’re more comfortable than those annoying dresses, now why are you wearing those?"
"I need it to troll properly."
"What do you mean troll properly?"
"Don’t worry, you’ll see." I smiled, finally turning my attention to the scathing look I’d been receiving since coming here.
"Old hag. I know I have very flexible preferences when it comes to women, but I assure you, you’re not my type."
"Pfftt..." Clarissa held herself just in the Knick of Time.
"Disrespectful whelp!!! You dare?" The old hag suddenly flared.
"Easy, granny. Don’t get worked up, you might die of a heart attack, I don’t want people going around saying I’m a bad person."
"Pfft... hahahahahahahahahahaha!!!" Unable to hold it in anymore, Clarissa burst out laughing,
"Damn it! Dante! I’m trying to act serious here, will you stop that?" She scolded through laughter.
"And I’m loving that serious look on your face, really, it’s just, your mother wants me to be your step dad but I’m not really sure how I feel about that..."
"Pfftt..." now it was Claire and Mira that had to hold themselves together.
"I mean, could you imagine it? Mira calling me step-grandfather? After everything we’ve done together?" The very thought made me shiver in cringe, but the women,
"PFFFT... HAHAHAHAHAHAHHA!!!" Finally lost it.
"Damn.. damn you Dante! Don’t go wording things in such a confusing manner!" Mira exclaimed, trying to compose herself.
"But I’m not wrong though. I mean, after seeing that birthmark on your...hmpphhh.."
"Not. Another. Word."
I looked into Mira’s red tomato face, my eyes crinkling as,
SLURRP!!
I licked the hand covering my mouth.
"Gross!!! What the hell?"
"That’ll teach you to cover my mouth next time."
"I’m really starting to understand why khali hates your guts."
"Meh. As I was saying, after seeing Mira in all her glory, having her call me grandfather seems a bit weird." My hand went to my chin as I ignored the dead quiet that had fell on the place, with only Clarissa laughing like a woman possessed, uncaring for any form of decorum.
"AHA! I got it!" I exclaimed, catching all three women’s and every other person’s attention.
"I’m not interested in that old hag, but I don’t mind if Mira calls me daddy." I shot a sneaky wink at her mother.
"Flirtatious bastard." The women merely laughed.
"You.... You.... You...." It seems the old hag really was about to have a heart attack, but luckily enough for her,
"Lord Zebediah Von Draken has arrived." The voice of the attendant at the door sounded out, accompanied by the creaking of the doors as a heavy aura washed through the entire room.
Thump!
Thump!
Thump!
The sounds of heavy footsteps echoed through the quiet room as all eyes turned to the new arrivals.
There, at the very front, was a man in gleaming crimson armor, the motifs of dragons carved in lifelike resemblance on the pauldrons.
A cape depicting the image of a dragon’s head, impaled by a massive blade fluttered behind him in the windless room.
His eyes, twin black orbs of indifference swept through the room as he took in the appearance of everyone, his eyes pausing briefly when they landed on me.
"I greet the matriarch of the Elowyn Family." Moving his gaze away, the man finally paid his respects to the matriarch, Mira’s mother, Claire.
"Zebediah. To think they would send you on such a thankless errand. Damien must be very agitated about this arrangement." Mira’s mother, true to her status as matriarch of an ancient family was unruffled by any of the display the man had put on.
"My lord simply wishes for the best of coordinations." The man replied.
"Heh! That snake? Wishing for anything but his own selfish desires? Oh, please, Zebediah, make up something better." Clarissa scoffed as she finally made her way to her seat, clearly tired of having to wait for these people.
"Lady Clarissa.." the man attempted to greet, but,
"Spare me the sophistry, let’s get on with this charade, I need to show Dante here a proper good time before he escapes from me."
"Ehh!?" I turned, my attention finally leaving the man, "a proper good time? You mean???"
"I would love to do just that, but raven will kill both of us if she found out, fufufufu.." she laughed seductively.
Taking a single step, I crossed the distance between us as I came face to face with her, our breaths mingling.
"I’m very durable, don’t worry."
"Fufufufu.. I thought you came here for my niece? What’s this now?"
"Whoever said I can’t have both?"
"Ohohoho... you’ve gotten quite greedy haven’t you?"
"Meh. You offered."
".... Ahem." A cough broke up our conversation as we finally acknowledged our surroundings.
"Oh.. you guys are still here, bummer." Clarissa sighed, shaking her head.
Step!
"Today my eyes have truly been opened to the hospitality of the Elowyns,"
Step!
"To think this would be how you received a potential alliance,"
Step!
"Should I take it as you guys don’t place my Draken family in your eyes? Or is it just me that you feel you can disrespect?"
The owner of the voice finally stopped as he stood shoulder to shoulder with the earlier arriving man.
"The Dragon Son of the Draken family has arrived." The attendant’s voice announced fervently.
"I greet the Dragon Son." The crimson armored man bowed in greeting before retreating behind the young man that had just appeared with the rest of the Drakens.
My brow rose as I spotted the haughty figure, a wide and feral grin breaking out on my face as I spotted the figure behind him as well.
"Mira." The young man’s eyes had been steadily focused on Mira and Mira alone, hardly bothering to acknowledge anyone else.
"Darius." Mira.
"It’s been quite some time since I last saw you in the academy. You no longer bother attending faction meetings, may I know why?"
"I was occupied. I don’t believe I owe you an explanation for what I do, right?"
"Occupied, huh?" His eyes focused on the way she was dressed, and I could already feel the rage bubbling within him.
"I have come here for only one thing."
"And what might that be, Darius?"
"Your answer."
"Will you marry me.
Yes.
Or.
No."
