Chaos Devourer System: My Classless Ascension

Chapter 303 - 301:”This is going to be fun!”

Chapter 303: Chapter 301:”This is going to be fun!”

The entire place was silent as everyone stared in dumbfounded shock at the husk hung up on display.

"Someone, bring the elder’s body down from there, let’s not desecrate her memory." Mira’s mother ordered solemnly, her face hard.

A few men in armor stepped forward as they slowly and gently pulled the dried husk from the doors, or at least they tried to, because the moment they touched the corpse.

POOF!

It collapsed into grey dust and was blown away with the wind.

"This..." the men were stunned as they turned towards Mira’s mother, yet before the woman could say anything.

CRAAACK!!! A heavy presence descended upon the place,

"We greet the old matriarch!!" The gathered crowd immediately bowed in greeting, all except Mira, Clarissa, and Claire.

The three women stood still as they raised there heads, I followed suit, my eyes catching sight of an elderly woman, sharing the same white hair that seems to be something all main line descendants happened to share.

"Mira." The woman spoke succinctly, voice plain.

"Grandmother." Mira replied with a head nod.

"You arrived yet didn’t come to greet me."

"I was occupied, I would’ve made time sooner or later."

"Occupied, you say." The woman’s eyes trailed past Mira, checking her out from head to toe and I could feel the atmosphere thickening as she took in Mira’s current outlook.

"You approved of your daughter’s behavior?" Her words were directed at Mira’s mother, yet her gaze stayed trained on Mira herself.

"She said it was comfortable, I tried." The woman merely shrugged as she replied.

"I see." Finally, the elderly woman in the sky turned her attention towards me,

"And you must be that whelp with the devourer’s ability." Her cold words reached my ears, but they barely registered, since,

"You’re making her uncomfortable."

"Hmm?" Her brows rose as a cold smile appeared on her face,

"Boy. What are you talking about?"

"The atmosphere. She doesn’t like you, and your raggedy old ass is making her uncomfortable."

"Do you know who you’re speaking to?" Her smile slowly faded as the air around her thickened even further.

"I honestly don’t care, but we need to fix that thing you’re doing, so.."

"COME DOWN." The air she was floating on vanished.

The very concept of the atmosphere around her ceased to exist as she... plummeted!

The ground turned into a bed of blossoms as her figure landed softly on it, preventing what would’ve otherwise been a very embarrassing moment.

"You... what did you do?" The old hag finally wiped the disdain from her face as she looked at me.

"I told you. She didn’t like you, so we fixed it. She’s better now." I didn’t bother addressing her question, merely telling her why she fell.

"You..."

"Mother. What brings you here?" Clarissa’s voice finally stopped the old hag.

"One of my elders was tortured to death, within my own family grounds, and you ask why I appear?" The woma replied coldly, as she leveled an emotionless stare at Clarissa.

"Ohh! She was an elder of yours??? My bad my bad!! I thought she was an elder of the family instead, not your personal property. I didn’t know we were doing that nowadays, you know, having personal elders." Clarissa smacked her hand to head, exclaiming in exaggeration.

The old hag’s face turned grim instantly, "Clarissa. Do not put words in my mouth."

"Ehh? But, everyone heard you clearly though, you just said, one of YOUR elders died. That means you, the former matriarch, have personal elders. Man, I wish I had some too."

"Clarissa..."

"Don’t be like that mother, I have witnesses, right everyone? You guys heard what she said right?" At her question, the entire place suddenly fell deathly quiet.

The tension in the air felt tight enough that one could feel it from a distance.

It seemed like the audience was suddenly torn between which side they should be on, and that, more than anything, spoke volumes of Clarissa’s say within the family.

But then again, that had nothing to do with me, now did it?

So,

"Yup! Yup!" My voice, despite being low, echoed like thunder in the quiet, "I definitely heard it. This old hag said she’s got multiple elders, I wonder how many she got." I put my hand on my chin, mulling it over.

"Yes! Exactly! You see? I was right, hehehehe."

"Don’t worry Clarissa, I’m here for you. That old hag isn’t getting away with anything." I nodded sagely, fully invested in being an eye witness.

"That’s my Dante.." seeing this part of Clarissa, the cheerful menace I knew, I couldn’t help it, the smile that broke out on my face was something to behold.

"Now, mother, while I would love to help you investigate who was audacious enough to do such a thing to one of your elders, I can’t.." she suddenly sighed, expression downcast,

"After all, Kids like us should stay out of the affairs of adults, isn’t that right?" The way her tone switched to absolute zero was quite honestly scary, and with it came that muted spike of killing intent.

Yet just as fast as it appeared it vanished.

"Alrighty then! That’s too much sadness for everyone, let’s not ruin our old matriarch’s dear old elder’s memory by being sad, let’s celebrate her life instead!!" She suddenly clapped cheerfully, voice excited.

"Everyone!! Let’s party!!!!!!!" At the sound of her words, the gathered audience stayed silent for a few moments, before, reluctantly, they stood, greeting the old hag cautiously, as they all made their way out.

"Clarissa...." The old hag leveled an expressionless look at Clarissa, then she turned towards me,

"Don’t look at me like that old hag, I was merely being an eye witness." I shrugged.

"Good. Very good." Giving out those classic xianxia evil elder words, she waved her large sleeves, her figure disappearing from the spot.

...

...

Silence finally returned as me and Clarissa shared a subtle look, before,

""Pft... hahahahahahahaha..." we burst out laughing, holding onto each other for dear life.

"Damn.. you still got it huh? You can troll people to death!" I said through laughter.

"You’re telling me this, when you were just as guilty."

"Hey, I learned from the best." I shrugged.

"Humph! You’ve finally become a proper troll, I’m proud." She huffed, puffing out her chest as the rainbow dress she had on emphasized her generous chests.

"I’ll tell raven if you keep staring." She snickered.

"Meh. The most she’ll do is rip my out heart. Been there, done that." I shrugged her off.

"Haaa..." a tired sigh broke up our conversation as we turned.

Both Mira and her mother were shaking their heads in exhaustion.

"I can’t believe there’s two of them now." Claire.

"You haven’t seen the last of it. He’s multiple times worse." Mira.

"No.."

"Better prepare yourself mother."

"Haaaa...."

.......

.......

"Damn! You guys know how to party!!" I exclaimed, hands holding the thigh of what was probably a very massive chicken.

The entire Elowyn family grounds had been decorated with banners of celebration as a massive party was Currently on the way.

What? You thought Clarissa was joking when she said let’s party?

Clarissa never jokes about a party. Ever!

"Fufufufu... I’m glad you like it! They put alot of thought into it." Clarissa laughed cheekily.

"They just organized this a few hours ago." Mira

"Doesn’t mean they didn’t put thoughts into it."

"Haaa... you know what, aunt? Just forget I said anything."

"Fufufufufu.. that’s my cute niece."

A comfortable silence followed as they ladies just watched the lively atmosphere through the massive floor to ceiling windows of the hall we were in, while I just focused on making the mountain of dishes before me disappear.

"So... mother, why did you call me back." Mira’s voice finally broke the silence as she asked the question everyone seemed to have unanimously left aside.

.....

.....

"Haaa... well, how do I say this." Her mother hesitated.

"It’s what I thought isn’t it?" Mira.

"Unfortunately. Yes. They’ll be arriving in two days time, with their entourage, and they’ll be expecting an answer then."

...

...

"Haaa... fucking Drakens." Hearing Mira’s mention of that name, my Bull shit radar immediately went off the rails.

"Hold up... Mira, what’d you just say?" My eating fiesta came to an abrupt halt, as I turned towards her.

"I’m.. sorry Dante.. I.. I just can’t with them.. sorry." She avoided my gaze as best she could.

I just stared at her.

The mood turning heavy, and then,

"Ha... Haha... HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!" I burst out laughing.

"You fucking cliche loving bastard!"

Here I was, thinking this bastard author had finally given up his old ways, yet I get shoved right into another one after such a long while? Was he really that itchy after going so long without pulling out a cliche from his ass?

"FUCKING BASTARD! HAHAHAHAAHAHA!!!" I laughed harder at the thought, because this time, I wasn’t upset.

I had been fighting, having conviction crisis, comprehending laws, and meeting entities i still couldn’t begin to understand.

A break was what I needed.

A proper de-stressing was in order, and this fucking bastard just brought one to my doorstep.

For the first time, and probably what would be the last time ever, I was actually glad the author was a piece of lazy shit.

"Two days.."

"Young masters."

"Face-slapping."

"Public humiliation."

"Bring it on you bastard author. Hahaha!!"

"Oh! This is going to be fun!"
