Chapter 900: Chapter 898: Venerable Lord of the Yi Division
These elixirs didn’t cost Xu Yang much mental effort, and the refinement speed was extremely fast.
In just two short days, he had already refined over a hundred poison elixirs for Luo Yao, as well as a pile of poison powder. This included many Grade Three Low-Tier and Grade Three Mid-Tier items. In particular, several of the poison formulas were complete sets. When seven or eight pills detonated together, the resulting power was terrifying—even a weaker cultivator at the Late Stage of Golden Immortal would suffer greatly if hit.
Finally, Xu Yang melted down a pile of Immortal Artifacts. He had absolutely no use for these items; they had all been seized from his enemies, so he felt no heartache in destroying them.
What ultimately laid before Luo Yao were piles of colorful little beads and spheres. Their surfaces were as thin as a cicada’s wings, allowing him to faintly see the poison elixirs and powder sealed inside.
Xu Yang had left simple restrictions within them. When Luo Yao needed to use them, he only had to wrap them in his immortal essence or the power of his Primordial Spirit, toss them out, and trigger them with a mere thought. The restriction would burst open, unleashing the elixir’s might. It was incredibly easy and posed no threat to the user.
"Senior Brother, this is all for now.
"I’ve placed some of the weaker poisonous herbs in here. You can study them later when your strength improves," Xu Yang said as he handed over a Storage Ring.
"Thank you, Junior Brother," Luo Yao solemnly said, cupping his fists in a salute.
"There’s no need to be polite, Senior Brother. If it weren’t for the help of the elixirs you gave me back then, I wouldn’t have had such an easy time," Xu Yang said with a wave of his hand and a light chuckle.
"Hahaha." Luo Yao burst into hearty laughter; his little Junior Brother was truly to his liking.
Xu Yang took a deep breath. After restoring his condition to its peak, he began preparing to refine the Grade Three High-Tier poison elixirs he needed for himself.
Suddenly...
RUMBLE!
The underground cave trembled violently.
Xu Yang and Luo Yao’s expressions changed simultaneously. They stared warily at the entrance, as if facing a formidable enemy.
SWISH!
Accompanied by a flickering of light and shadow, a middle-aged man in black darted in through the entrance.
"Late Stage of Golden Immortal." Xu Yang’s pupils constricted.
The man before him gave off a feeling of power even greater than that of Zhou Xiong, Du Ling, and Ghost Eagle. As the man’s gaze swept over him, an invisible threat wrapped around Xu Yang’s neck like a chain, causing a wave of suffocation.
"Xu Yang.
"It’s actually you." Dao He raised an eyebrow, greatly shocked.
Seeing Xu Yang here truly took him by immense surprise. Why would he be here?
A surge of killing intent instantly welled up within him. If he killed Xu Yang here...
"Who are you?" Xu Yang remained extremely vigilant.
Dao He smiled faintly. "Sovereign of the Blood Marsh’s Beta Division, Dao He!"
"Beta Division!" Xu Yang’s pupils shrank.
The Blood Marsh was divided into five divisions: Alpha, Beta, Gamma, Delta, and Epsilon. Ghost Eagle, Sovereign of the Epsilon Division, was the weakest. As for the Beta Division, its strength could easily be imagined.
"What dense poison.
"Could this place... be the cave dwelling of that old poison monger, Jia Xiu?" Dao He’s eyes flashed as he suddenly flicked his sleeve, dispersing the surrounding poisonous gas. Although the poison didn’t pose much of a threat to him, it still made him uncomfortable.
He had hurried over after receiving a report from his subordinates earlier. Seeing Xu Yang, he knew he had arrived a step too late.
"That’s right.
"However, you’re too late," Xu Yang replied.
Dao He stared thoughtfully at the Black and White Meteor Tower looming above them. He naturally didn’t believe Xu Yang could resist Jia Xiu’s poison on his own, assuming he was relying on this top-tier supreme treasure.
"What did Jia Xiu leave behind?" he asked curiously. After all, that old poison monger had been fiercely notorious back in the day, and his mastery over the Dao of Poison was far too terrifying.
"Do you think a poison fiend like Jia Xiu would be kind enough to leave good things behind for anyone?" Xu Yang gnashed his teeth, feigning resentment.
Dao He slightly raised his eyebrows. It seemed Xu Yang had suffered a huge loss, though he didn’t quite look the part.
"Playing with these poisons makes it easy to burn oneself," Dao He sneered sinisterly.
"There’s no need for you to worry about that. My Senior Brother happens to have some expertise in the Dao of Poison."
Senior Brother? Dao He only glanced at Luo Yao before losing interest. He was too weak. At the Early Stage of Golden Immortal with merely an average foundation, his strength naturally wouldn’t be anything remarkable. With such strength, even if he had some expertise in the Dao of Poison, he wouldn’t be able to produce any poison capable of threatening someone at the Late Stage of Golden Immortal in a short amount of time.
HUM!
Killing intent overflowed from Dao He, causing the Periphery Void Space to distort violently.
Xu Yang’s expression remained unchanged as he slowly took out a miniature blood-red sword.
"This is formed from Lord Mo Bai’s Sword Intent. Perhaps it cannot stop you, Sovereign, but it can certainly hold you off for a moment.
"Besides, do you think I can summon Cang Feng here, Sovereign?"
Beside the miniature blood-red sword, there was also a dark gold token—a Dark Gold Level Heaven’s Edge Order.
"..."
Dao He’s killing intent abruptly shattered.
Lord Mo Bai’s Sword Intent. The Heaven’s Edge Pavilion’s Dark Gold Level Heaven’s Edge Order.
Xu Yang’s identity as the Heaven’s Edge Pavilion’s Dragon-Tiger Venerable had already spread. His status was equivalent to that of a Vice Pavilion Master, second only to Cang Feng. Dao He truly had no doubt that he could summon Cang Feng.
He sighed inwardly. This boy had already fully fledged. It would be difficult to kill him now.
Furthermore, he knew very well that it was impossible to kill Xu Yang outside. If Yang Yuan had the Black Fire Immortal Mountain’s trump cards protecting him, how could Xu Yang not have any? At most, the boy would suffer some injuries and be forced to flee the Eastern Continent. The only chance to kill Xu Yang would be in the Starfall Immortal Ruins.
"Mr. Xu has truly created a miracle among the prodigies of the Eastern Continent.
"I also admire you greatly, and I hope Mr. Xu will have a smooth journey ahead." Dao He smiled faintly, putting away all stray thoughts, and flashed away. He completely abandoned any ideas regarding Jia Xiu’s relics.
A smooth journey ahead? Xu Yang frowned slightly. It was naturally impossible for a Sovereign of the Blood Marsh to sincerely wish him well. The Blood Marsh hadn’t made any moves recently, but it seemed they hadn’t given up completely.
The Starfall Immortal Ruins! Xu Yang’s eyes flashed with a cold sneer.
"Once we reach the Starfall Immortal Ruins, you’d better all pray you don’t come looking for trouble with me, otherwise..."
"Junior Brother, should we stay here or leave?" Luo Yao asked softly.
"Let’s leave."
Although it was unlikely for Dao He to return after leaving, it was better to be safe than sorry.
Immediately, Xu Yang and Luo Yao swiftly left the underground cave, thoroughly destroying the entire cavern without leaving a single trace behind.
Beyond the poisonous swamp zone, even deeper within the Ten Thousand Beasts Abyss. Inside a secluded valley.
Luo Yao sat cross-legged at the edge, keeping watch, while Xu Yang refined poison elixirs inside.
The Four Shadows Poison Elixir, Grade Three High-Tier, came in sets of four. When activated, they unleashed a massive swarm of toxic shadows that specifically targeted a cultivator’s flesh and blood, immortal essence, and Primordial Spirit, while also throwing the surrounding heaven and earth space into chaos.
The Infant Poison Elixir, Grade Three High-Tier, was meant to be thrown directly at a cultivator’s face. Catching them off guard, it would feel like an infant clinging to their face, completely cutting off their vision and perception while attacking their Primordial Spirit Space.
The Hundred Poison Elixir, Grade Three Mid-Tier, was a mixture of a hundred types of poison. Blended with the Thousand Poison Holy Water, its power was comparable to a Grade Three High-Tier elixir. As for its effects, they included everything from causing someone to lose their combat ability, rotting their physical body, collapsing their immortal essence, decaying their vitality, and driving their Primordial Spirit insane.
The Thousand Poison Elixir, Grade Three High-Tier, was an upgraded version of the Hundred Poison Elixir.
For the Ten Thousand Poison Elixir, he lacked enough materials and would need the Ten Thousand Poison Holy Water.
...
After refining all these various elixirs, Xu Yang was utterly exhausted. But despite his physical fatigue, his spirit was exceptionally invigorated.
Any single one of these pills would be enough to make a Late Stage of Golden Immortal cultivator’s scalp tingle with fear. At best, they would lose their combat ability; at worst, they would undoubtedly die while suffering inhuman torture. The sheer deterrence of these poisons was enough to strike terror into people, forcing them to retreat without a fight.
After finally exhausting all his materials, he had a total of twenty-three Grade Three High-Tier poison elixirs in his hands. In addition, he still had Jia Xiu’s poisonous blood and the Ten Thousand Poison Holy Water, as well as his own terrifying blood poison after subduing the Ten Thousand Poisonous Sacred Silkworm.
It was more than enough. Throwing them all out at once could wipe out an entire minor faction.
