Chapter 875: Beating Yang Yuan After Beating Du Ling
Chapter 875 -873: Beating Yang Yuan After Beating Du Ling
“Oh, and there’s the Vajra Sect.
“Since the Canglan River has already made their move, doesn’t your Vajra Sect plan to do the same?” Xu Yang asked with a playful smile.
Zhou Xiong’s face paled. The crowd exchanged bewildered glances before looking at him with pity. Going up against Xu Yang now was nothing short of a death wish. No matter how strong Zhou Xiong was, could he really overpower Du Ling? The two were evenly matched, after all.
“Ahem…
“It’s a misunderstanding, all a misunderstanding,” Zhou Xiong coughed awkwardly. “Mr. Xu, my Vajra Sect and Situ Ke are graceful losers. We aren’t like the Canglan River, who not only can’t accept defeat but are also the epitome of shamelessness. I feel deeply disgraced and ashamed to even be associated with them.
“Mr. Xu, from the very beginning, I haven’t provoked you at all.”
A fine layer of sweat broke out across Zhou Xiong’s forehead. At this point, why would he care about offending the Canglan River? It was every man for himself. A living, breathing cautionary tale was lying right in front of him, and he certainly wasn’t stupid.
However, anyone could tell his words were completely insincere. Aside from the cultivators of the Canglan River who glared at him furiously, everyone else was holding back their laughter.
“Ah, pfft!”
Xuan Ningchen burst out laughing but immediately realized his slip-up. He clamped a hand over his mouth, his face turning red from the effort of stifling his amusement. He found it incredibly satisfying. Normally, he wouldn’t even have the right to witness such a brilliant confrontation. These guys usually walked around with their noses in the air, looking down on him completely. Now, they were acting like total clowns. If there weren’t so many people present, Xuan Ningchen really wouldn’t have been able to control himself.
Zhou Xiong lowered his head, his expression exceptionally ugly. He didn’t want to stay here for another second; it was far too humiliating. Yet, no one could have predicted any of this.
Xu Yang’s rate of improvement was simply too fast, making him terrifyingly strong. This was the strength of the top three on the Dragon and Tiger List. The three individuals currently holding those positions had dominated the top spots from the moment they debuted until now. Who could possibly shake their standing? At least, until now. Zhou Xiong couldn’t help but feel sorry for Situ Ke. Liou Xueyan had it relatively easy, but running into Xu Yang was the worst luck imaginable.
Xu Yang stared at Zhou Xiong and let out a low chuckle. “Since it’s a misunderstanding, let’s forget it.”
Zhou Xiong took a deep breath, slowly raised his head, and offered Xu Yang a forced smile. “Mr. Xu is truly magnanimous.
“You have my utmost admiration.”
With that said, he turned to the Fifth Young Master and spoke decisively, “Fifth Young Master, I just remembered I have some urgent matters to attend to, so I won’t overstay my welcome. I’ll be taking my leave now.”
Xuan Ningchen was taken aback and quickly said, “Wait, I still have important matters to announce later.”
Zhou Xiong paused in his tracks. The insider details of the coming-of-age ceremony… He cursed under his breath, keeping his darkened face turned away as he ordered, “Liu Qi, you stay.”
WHOOSH.
After leaving those instructions, he darted out of the courtyard and vanished without a trace.
The crowd exchanged bewildered glances, desperately fighting back their laughter. However, when their gazes shifted to Xu Yang, they all gradually sobered up, taking deep breaths. Who could possibly remain calm when facing such a monster? After all, those were Zhou Xiong and Du Ling—disciples of the previous generation at the Late Stage of Golden Immortal. Setting everything else aside, just that level of cultivation would easily make them high-ranking officials in any first-rate faction; even in a top-tier immortal sect, they wouldn’t be considered weak. Yet, they had been forced to flee in panic. The onlookers couldn’t help but sigh in disbelief.
Meanwhile, Yang Yuan was overwhelmed with awkwardness. He never expected things to end up like this, and even now, the shock on his face was impossible to hide. Xu Yang was simply too strong. Standing before Zhou Xiong and Du Ling, Yang Yuan hadn’t even mustered the courage to strike. Yet, Du Ling was beaten into a severe coma, and Zhou Xiong was scared into running away. What kind of sheer prestige was this?
He couldn’t help but fantasize about being the one standing there, wondering what it would be like if he also possessed a Ninth Grade immortal foundation.
Xu Yang!
Yang Yuan’s eyes turned bloodshot.
“Mr. Yang.”
“Hmm?” Yang Yuan jolted. Looking up, he met a pair of icy eyes that sent a chill straight through his body. He felt as if he had been plunged into a cavern of ice. Every hair on his body stood on end, as though he were being hunted by a terrifying, ancient beast. He knew this was bad, but he didn’t think Xu Yang could actually do anything to him. After all, everyone knew that he and Xu Yang belonged to the same sect.
He forced an ugly smile onto his face. “Mr. Xu.”
The crowd turned to look in surprise and suspicion.
Mr. Xu? Mr. Yang?
“Are they from the same sect? Both from the Black Fire Immortal Mountain?”
“It seems so. That guy is named Yang Yuan, and his cultivation isn’t weak either. But he didn’t have much of a reputation in the Eastern Continent; he only popped up in the last few days.”
“Why do I get the feeling that the atmosphere between them isn’t quite right?”
“Logically speaking, with Xu Yang’s astonishing talent and formidable strength, even someone senior to him in the sect should know better than to provoke him.”
“It seems like Zhou Xiong of the Vajra Sect and Du Ling of the Canglan River were lured here by this guy.”
“Huh?”
The murmurs of discussion abruptly died down.
Xu Yang flashed a grin. “Mr. Yang, have I been giving you too much face?”
Yang Yuan’s expression changed drastically. Hearing those words, he knew he was in deep trouble. Was Xu Yang turning on him? Was he really going to tear up all pretenses between them? Was he crazy?
“Mr. Xu, what is the meaning of this?” Yang Yuan demanded with a dark expression.
“What is the meaning of this?” Xu Yang sneered. “Time and time again, I gave you chances. From the very beginning, to the Blood Marsh, all the way until now.
“If your skills are inferior, you should just accept it.
“If you actually had the ability to defeat me fair and square, I wouldn’t say a single word.
“But instead, you always resort to underhanded, petty tricks. You’re even more disgusting than the Canglan River. The Canglan River is a top-tier immortal sect in the Eastern Continent, but what about you? Even Jiang Yue Long is better than you; at least he has the guts to admit to his own shamelessness.”
His blunt and unforgiving words echoed throughout the courtyard. The crowd fell silent out of fear, and some even considered leaving. What business did outsiders have listening in on an internal sect conflict? However, these words caused everyone’s gaze toward Yang Yuan to shift drastically. The Blood Marsh? It turned out Yang Yuan had been constantly trying to “bully” Xu Yang? Was this a joke? Was he actively looking to get himself killed?
Yang Yuan roared in fury, “Xu Yang, don’t spout baseless slander!”
“Getting anxious? You can’t even endure this much?” Xu Yang’s lips curled up into a smirk as he slowly walked toward Yang Yuan. “I’ve already given you plenty of face.
“But this time, I don’t plan on giving you any more.”
“What are you trying to do?” Yang Yuan’s expression changed dramatically. Filled with panic, he subconsciously backed away.
SWISH!
Like a phantom, Xu Yang vanished from his spot. The moment Yang Yuan saw him disappear, he turned and fled without a second thought. How could he possibly be a match for Xu Yang?
BOOM!
Yang Yuan let out a bloodcurdling scream. With just one strike, his right arm shattered into pieces, and his entire body was sent crashing into the edge of the courtyard.
“Ah! Xu Yang, are you crazy?
“You bastard! My arm, hiss!” Yang Yuan’s face contorted in agony, his fury boiling over.
Too lazy to waste any more words on him, Xu Yang blurred into motion and reappeared right in front of Yang Yuan, radiating an overwhelming, heaven-blotting killing intent.
WHOOSH!
The murderous aura surged like a tidal wave, crushing down with the sheer weight of a collapsing sky.
SPURT!
Yang Yuan coughed up a spray of blood. His eyes bulged out, filled with sheer, unadulterated terror. He was horrified that Xu Yang could possibly be this strong. This paralyzing presence almost gave him the same suffocating feeling as facing the Venerable Lord of the Blood Marsh’s Second Division.
BAM!
Xu Yang grabbed Yang Yuan and hauled him up, forcing them to lock eyes.
“No,” Yang Yuan whimpered in fear, shaking his head frantically as he struggled violently.
“Mr. Yang, we both know we can’t kill each other,” Xu Yang said calmly.
“However, I never intended to kill you anyway. You pose absolutely no threat to me, and that wouldn’t change even if you managed to achieve a Ninth Grade immortal foundation.”
BOOM!
Yang Yuan trembled all over. Under Xu Yang’s humiliation, the fear in his eyes morphed into a frenzy of rage.
“Xu Yang, you’ve gone too far!”
“So what if I go too far?” Xu Yang retorted. “If you have the capability, then fight back.”
