Chapter 865 -863: Paying Respects to Cang Feng

On the Wind and Cloud Platform, everyone’s face was flushed with irrepressible joy.

The members of Celestial Sword City’s Heaven’s Edge Tower looked at Xu Yang with awe and gratitude. Without him, even with Lo Peng’s help, they would have ranked around tenth at best, and the number of people allowed to enter would have been cut in half.

“Thank goodness we had Mr. Xu step into the arena. Otherwise, I would’ve been the sinner of the hour,” Lo Peng said, beaming from ear to ear.

“HA HA HA!” Chen Yingchuan laughed heartily.

He was the biggest winner in this Dragon and Tiger Battle.

“Xu Yang, all the Tower Masters still need to discuss matters regarding Heaven’s Edge Tower with the Vice Pavilion Masters,” Chen Yingchuan said, looking at him. “Let Sanqian show you around Heaven’s Edge Pavilion first.”

“Sounds good.” Xu Yang gave a slight nod.

“Tower Master, I’m afraid Mr. Xu won’t have time for a tour,” Lo Peng suddenly interjected.

“Oh?” A flash of confusion crossed Chen Yingchuan’s eyes. As if suddenly sensing something, he reflexively turned around.

A calm gaze swept over them, causing Chen Yingchuan, Lo Peng, and the others to immediately bow slightly.

It was Pavilion Master Cang Feng.

“Xu Yang, come with me. The rest of you are dismissed.”

As Cang Feng’s voice fell, everyone on the Wind and Cloud Platform voiced their compliance.

No one was surprised that Xu Yang had been summoned by Cang Feng. After all, Xu Yang’s aptitude, potential, and combat prowess were all top-tier. Coupled with his status as a Dragon and Tiger Venerable, it would have been more surprising if he hadn’t been called upon.

“Go on,” Chen Yingchuan said in a low voice.

“Right.” Xu Yang took a deep breath and quickly walked toward Cang Feng, feeling rather nervous. After all, this was an expert at the Golden Immortal Extreme Realm.

Cang Feng smiled faintly. With a sweep of his sleeve, he swept Xu Yang up, and the two transformed into a wisp of wind and cloud, vanishing from the Wind and Cloud Platform.

On a towering observation deck deep within the Heaven’s Edge Mountains, Xu Yang and Cang Feng appeared out of thin air.

Several vigorous, ancient pine trees stood at the edge of the cliff. Their roots were twisted and knotted like coiled pythons, exuding an aura that practically blended into the surrounding heaven and earth. Looking out, one could clearly see the towering peaks and vast mountain ranges stretching in all directions. The rolling mist and the ever-changing winds and clouds were all visible in a single sweeping glance.

Not far away stood a simple, unadorned wooden table with two small stools placed beside it.

“Have a seat.” Cang Feng gestured before taking a seat on one side.

Hesitating for a moment, Xu Yang respectfully sat opposite him.

“I suppose this is our second meeting,” Cang Feng said.

Xu Yang wondered what he meant by a second meeting before immediately recalling the time Mo Baijun had drawn his sword to slay the Ghost Eagle.

Before Xu Yang could organize his words, Cang Feng continued, “To be honest, when I heard a Dragon and Tiger Venerable had emerged, I was so shocked I could hardly believe it.”

“You flatter me, Pavilion Master,” Xu Yang said with a faint smile.

“You don’t need to be modest about this.” Cang Feng waved his hand slightly. “Have you ever received a summons from the Celestial Destiny List?”

The Celestial Destiny List? Xu Yang’s pupils shrank slightly, but he calmly shook his head.

Cang Feng gave him a profound look and sighed. “Di Qinghe isn’t on the Celestial Destiny List either. As the lowest heaven in the Immortal Domain, the Black and White Star Heaven has never given birth to a Celestial Destiny in this era. However, if you ascend to the higher realms, both you and Di Qinghe will have a chance.”

Xu Yang’s heart skipped a beat. “Pavilion Master, what exactly are the benefits of the Celestial Destiny?”

“Celestial Destiny…” Cang Feng mused. “I can’t easily describe the exact benefits. Broadly speaking, those who possess it become the darlings of heaven and earth, enjoying unimaginable advantages in every aspect. Even the one ranked first on the Immortal Pride List would struggle to contend with a Celestial Destiny holder.

“In fact, those top-tier immortal sects in the Eastern Continent know even less about the Celestial Destiny than I do.”

Xu Yang’s eyes lit up as he pondered the concept of the Celestial Destiny. Did it mean becoming a puppet? He had already rejected it more than once. Of course, this was a secret he could never reveal to outsiders.

“The founding of Heaven’s Edge Pavilion was actually an accident,” Cang Feng said.

“Our founding ancestor was an incredibly weak cultivator at the time, but he was exceptionally lucky to live long enough to learn many hidden secrets.

“Here is a rubbing of a Scroll that briefly records some information about the Celestial Destiny.”

With a casual motion, Cang Feng produced a quaint, miniature Scroll.

Xu Yang took a deep breath, accepted it with both hands, and slowly unrolled the Scroll. Instantly, the ancient characters on it came to life, transforming into streaks of flowing light that shot into the center of Xu Yang’s brow.

Dozens of breaths later, Xu Yang’s eyes widened in shock as he processed the information.

There were four great eras: the era of Xuan Xing, the era of Tai Xu, the era of Xia Li, and the era of Can Ya. The Celestial Destiny seemed to have appeared near the end of the Xuan Xing era and had continued to the present day. Each era marked the changing of an epoch, lasting anywhere from tens of thousands to hundreds of thousands of years. These four great figures were all Children of Destiny who ultimately bore the Celestial Destiny and became the supreme rulers of the Immortal Domain.

“HISS!” Xu Yang gasped, monstrous waves of shock crashing through his heart.

Setting aside the latter three eras, he was incredibly familiar with Xuan Xing. That was the one who had opposed Fentian! Back then, there was still the conflict between Ancient Immortals and Demonic Immortals. But now, neither existed anymore. Judging from the information he had gathered on his journey, Fentian had clearly failed…

A sudden chill ran down Xu Yang’s spine. Just how many tens of thousands of years had passed? Four great eras had come and gone! Each lasted tens of thousands of years at the absolute minimum, while the longer ones could easily span hundreds of thousands or even over a million years.

Seas had turned into mulberry fields, and everything had crumbled to dust.

Only now did Xu Yang suddenly realize that the ancient continent above the Spirit Realm was older than he could possibly imagine. Who in this day and age still knew the details of the early clashes between Fentian and Xuan Xing?

The rubbing only mentioned Xuan Xing in passing, lacking any deep understanding. The rest of the text merely referenced the era without shedding light on its true secrets.

“Pavilion Master, what happened to these four figures in the end?” Xu Yang asked, looking at Cang Feng as he forced down the surging emotions in his heart.

Cang Feng shook his head slightly. “That’s beyond what I can possibly know. Some guess they perished in conflict, while others speculate they transcended.

“Originally, the Immortal Domain consisted of nine heavens. But now, only six remain. Furthermore, the origins of two of those heavens have descended into chaos, making it nearly impossible for cultivators to establish a foothold and practice. Perhaps in another few years, they will completely collapse and disintegrate.”

“There are two other heavens?” Xu Yang asked, his face full of surprise.

“That’s right, though very few ordinary people know about them,” Cang Feng said.

“The first is the Profound Magnetic Aurora Continent, which has been reduced to a wasteland overrun by calamities and toxic creatures. The other is the Wind, Fire, Thunder, and Rain Heaven, also known as the Wind, Fire, and Thunder Prison. Its origin is in chaos, and a terrifying war from the distant past shattered the balance and order of heaven and earth. This led to the birth of the terrifying Thousand Calamities White Calamity Wind, Cyan Nether Immortal Slaughter Fire, Dark Void Immortal Slaying Thunder, and Blood-Sucking Worm Rain. They ravage and erode everything in their path. It is truly horrifying.”

The Wind, Fire, Thunder, and Rain Heaven? Xu Yang subconsciously clenched his fists, nearly losing control of himself.

After so long, this was the first time he had heard anyone mention the “Wind, Fire, Thunder, and Rain Heaven.” Fentian had left behind a message: only by finding the four divisions of Wind, Fire, Thunder, and Rain could the truth be known.

Now, the information about this heaven had finally been revealed. But his heart sank. After tens of thousands of years, based on what Cang Feng had said, could anyone possibly still be alive in there?

“P-Pavilion Master, where is the Wind, Fire, Thunder, and Rain Heaven?” Xu Yang asked, his voice trembling slightly.
