Chapter 240: Chapter 240: The Three Words: Qin Tianxuan

The entire room fell deathly silent.

The once menacing members of the Liu Family were now all clutching their phones, staring with bulging eyes.

’The Liu Family, one of Jin City’s famous top-ten clans, was taken down in an instant just like that?’

"Get the Old Master!" Liu Daoban shouted in a panic.

The members of the Liu Family glared at him in fury.

"You bastard, look at the mess you’ve caused!"

"Damn, this Qin guy is no pushover. I think Daoban is right—we need to get the Old Master!"

The others in the room were instantly energized by the idea.

The Liu Family’s Old Master—a high-ranking official retired from the Imperial Capital!

He was once a Celestial Pavilion Elder!

And what kind of status did a Celestial Pavilion Elder hold?

In a small place like Jin City, he was a god-like figure!

While the Liu Family members frantically made calls and sent people to fetch him, Qin Tianxuan remained perfectly still and unconcerned.

He turned his gaze to Zhao Shanhe.

Zhao Shanhe’s eyes darted about nervously. The weight of Qin Tianxuan’s gaze sent a wave of panic through him, and he instinctively took a step back.

"None of the men from my Battle Department are trash like you!" Qin Tianxuan’s eyes were piercing.

Zhao Shanhe cowered. "Y-You... Don’t go too far! I retired a long time ago."

He was still shouting when the sound of urgent footsteps came from outside.

Wutian of the Martial Venerable Hall appeared, looking dusty and travel-worn, with his Personal Guard in tow.

"Sir, your subordinate has arrived!"

Wutian’s expression was grave. He had received a message from Qin Tianxuan on the way and already knew what had happened.

"I was the one who recommended Zhao Shanhe for the post in Jin City. I never imagined he would become so thoroughly corrupt. The fault is mine!"

Wutian was deeply ashamed.

He knew that according to the Night Emperor’s code, anyone from the Battle Department who erred would be punished twice as severely.

Qin Tianxuan glanced at Wutian and pointed at Zhao Shanhe. "You deal with this piece of trash."

Wutian turned. Zhao Shanhe might not have feared anyone else, but he was terrified of his former commander. His legs went weak at the sight of him.

Wutian let out a sinister grin. A Personal Guard stepped forward, kicked Zhao Shanhe to the ground, and dragged him out.

The room grew even quieter.

All eyes were on Wutian.

"This is bad. We need to get Grand Commander Luo Qilin over here. The Northern Domain Battle Department has sent their own people!"

But they didn’t even have Luo Qilin’s phone number.

The Liu Family’s only promising young master was currently undergoing special training at the Martial Arts Arena and was unreachable.

The scene began to descend into chaos.

Finally, the man they were waiting for arrived.

An old man in a Zhongshan suit slowly walked in from outside.

His white beard was neatly groomed, and he radiated the aura of a powerful man.

He entered with his hands clasped behind his back, his eyes narrowed to slits. "So, who is it that’s made a move against my Liu Family?"

The members of the Liu Family were overjoyed. They all bowed, crying, "Old Master!" and then frantically pointed at Qin Tianxuan.

Old Liu slowly approached, his presence swelling. "Qin Tianxuan? So you’re the one who had the Five Great Silver Alliances freeze my family’s accounts? Impressive. But I’m afraid I know the executives of the Five Great Silver Alliances!"

He took out his phone and made a show of searching for a contact.

Qin Tianxuan watched him coolly, saying nothing.

Old Liu contacted a vice president at the Golden Sparrow Silver Alliance, speaking to him with practiced warmth as he explained the situation.

Then he brandished his phone. "This Vice President Zhang I know says he’ll handle it for me right away. Here, Qin, you can listen for yourself."

Qin Tianxuan took the phone and said simply, "This is Qin Tianxuan."

Four words.

A moment of silence on the other end was followed by the trembling voice of Vice President Zhang: "Mr. Qin, I truly had no idea... I..."

"You can pack your bags and get out," Qin Tianxuan said, coldly tossing the phone back. "Go on. Call anyone else in your network. I’m waiting."

Old Liu’s face flushed crimson.

Everyone in the room was watching him.

"You... You just wait!"

Old Liu took a deep breath and dialed the Imperial Capital Celestial Hall.

However, the moment he said the name "Qin Tianxuan," a cry of alarm came from the other end.

"Who? Lao Liu, what did you say his name was?"

"Qin Tianxuan..."

"Heh. I can’t help you with this one. My advice, Lao Liu? Get on your knees and start begging for forgiveness. Now."

The line went dead.

Old Liu sensed that something was terribly wrong. His heart trembling, he cautiously glanced at Qin Tianxuan.

But behind him, the younger generations of the Liu Clan were all looking to him, their patriarch, to defend their honor.

Gritting his teeth, Old Liu called the most powerful person he knew.

The commander of the Dragon Platform Phoenix Hall!

This was a powerful figure Old Liu had gone to great lengths to befriend during his time in the Imperial Capital!

This time, he was filled with confidence.

He fumbled with his phone again. "The man I’m calling now is the Grand Commander of the Dragon Platform Phoenix Hall!" Old Liu announced, his face full of smug satisfaction. "Do you even know what the Dragon Platform Phoenix Hall is? Huh? You, Qin! No matter how arrogant you are, you can’t order them around. Like I told you, I have people in the Imperial Capital!"

Qin Tianxuan took the phone, listened to the Grand Commander on the other end, and replied with the same four words as before: "This is Qin Tianxuan."

There was a choked sound on the other end, as if a machine had just ground to a halt.

It was followed by a frantic apology. "M-Mr. Qin! I... I truly didn’t realize it was you, sir! I was wrong, please..."

"I have no authority over the Dragon Platform Phoenix Hall. What could you possibly be afraid of?" Qin Tianxuan sneered.

The powerful man on the other end sounded as if he was about to cry.

When the phone was handed back to Old Liu, the man on the other end immediately started screaming.

"Old Liu, you’re a dead man! Do you have any idea who that was?"

"W-w-who was it?" Old Liu stammered.

"Damn it, you listen to me and you listen good!"

As Old Liu listened, the color drained from his face, going from red to deathly pale, until his entire body was drenched in a cold sweat.

He nodded and bowed obsequiously into the phone. After hanging up, his legs began to tremble violently.

"M-Mr. Qin!" Old Liu bent into a deep, ninety-degree bow. "I was wrong! The Liu Family was wrong! Please, spare us and give us a way to live."

Everyone in the room gasped.

’What’s happened to the patriarch?’

"What the hell are you all standing around for? Get over here and pay your respects!" Old Liu roared, whirling around.

The entire Liu Family cowered as they shuffled forward, each one bending at the waist or bowing deeply.

"Liu Daoban," Qin Tianxuan said without moving, picking up a cup of fragrant tea that had just been brought to him. "So? Is the Liu Family going to protect you, or not?"
