Celestial Bloodline

Chapter 910: Don’t let him escape!

Chapter 910: Don’t let him escape!

They all stared in disbelief as Kyle swam across the lake without being detected.

They weren’t the only ones; many weaker Celestials hiding nearby also noticed Kyle and watched the shocking scene unfold.

The only ones who didn’t notice Kyle’s eye-catching frame were the Rulers.

Perhaps… they truly were blind…?

Kyle stopped just below the floating Gate, his eyes glowing faintly in the mist. Then, with brazen audacity, he turned and waved at Cassian, Owin, Jolie, and Tai—almost as if he were rubbing salt into their wounds.

Cassian let out a hoarse laugh.

“Why do I have this feeling that if we tried what he just did, we’d get caught instantly?”

As he muttered to himself, all of a sudden, a familiar voice spoke from behind him.

“I know, right? He knows the natural law of fortune! Just how far has he progressed in it…? To think he actually stole it from me.”

Cassian froze, then quickly snapped his head around. Thanks to Kyle’s bold stunt, their positions had been exposed to many Celestials hiding in the surroundings.

To his dismay, Clan Leader Ares, Gvette, Silver, and Guardian Zami were crouching right behind him—the only ones who had abandoned their positions to join him.

Clan Leader Ares gave him a smile that didn’t quite reach his amethyst eyes.

“It’s been a while, hasn’t it?”

Cassian’s tongue felt tied. He hadn’t seen Ares since the moment he fled the clan. To think they would meet like this again… ᴡ ᴏᴠʟ ᴄʜᴀᴘᴛʀs ᴀʀ ᴘᴜʙʟsʜᴅ ᴏ ovelfire.net

Damn it, this was all Kyle’s fault!

Ares casually wrapped a hand around his shoulder, even as the crimson-eyed person visibly stiffened. His smile didn’t waver.

“After you two left… I searched for quite a while. My precious young clan members—new to this vast Realm, yet already having passed through the terrifying Hell’s Layer.”

His tone was laced with fake sorrow as his eyes drifted toward Kyle’s waving figure. But as if sensing his gaze, Kyle abruptly halted, plunged back into the water, and vanished.

Ares continued, unfazed.

“Then I started hearing stories—about a silver-haired phantom and the Hellbringer of Death. Frightening tales. So, I stopped searching. I did the right thing… didn’t I?”

Cassian began to sweat. Ares looked pissed. Damn it—this jerk was too petty.

He actually remembered, even after two whole years, that Kyle had escaped after absorbing his clan’s natural crystals! But maybe what really stung Ares was that he didn’t get the chance to vent his fury, since Cassian had fled right after Kyle escaped.

Cassian spoke with indignation.

“But I didn’t do anything. It was all Kyle—he’s the one who absorbed the crystals.”

Ares gave a slow nod, eyes fixed on him.

“Of course you didn’t. Do I look like I am blaming you? So tell me—did I do the right thing by stopping my search for you both?”

“Hmm?”

His gaze narrowed dangerously, but his attempt to vent was cut short by Gvette, who spoke up again—clearly confused.

“Wait… in this place, we can’t use natural energy. That means Kyle didn’t rely on the Law of Fortune. Then… just how did Kyle reach that place without being detected?”

He gasped, as if struck by realization.

“Gosh… don’t tell me his natural luck is so ridiculously high, it surpasses even a law?!”

Silver pinched Gvette’s arm as Ares’s dark gaze turned to him, sharp and dangerous—like he was already a dead man. This idiot, can’t he read the room? She cursed quietly, then stepped forward to pat Ares’s back.

“Clan Leader Ares, don’t get so worked up. It’s not good for you. You are on the verge of a big breakthrough, you need a focused and composed mind for it, remember?”

Ares huffed, but before he could respond, a thunderous roar shook the lake, sending a wave of tension through everyone present.

Eyes widened, and every gaze snapped in Kyle’s direction. Cassian let out a frustrated groan, rubbing his temples in exasperation.

“What has he done this time?”

But for once, Kyle was innocent—just as confused as the rest as he looked up from underwater. He hadn’t moved, hadn’t cast any skill or released his full power, and yet the pressure in the air grew suffocating.

Suddenly, the sky split open with a crack, and pitch-black darkness spilled from the rift, revealing a colossal obsidian eye.

It loomed high above everyone, silent and menacing—its two glowing, familiar purple slits narrowing dangerously as it scanned the people below like a predator sizing up its prey. Kyle’s breath hitched at the sight.

He recognized that eye immediately.

And why wouldn’t he?

He had seen a similar scene before.

A strange, deadly stillness settled over the misty lake—a moment of eerie calm before chaos. Many Celestials held their breath.

But the Rulers were enraged. Who dared to look down on them with such audacity?

One of the Rulers, a tall and handsome man, raised his hand—ready to gouge out the obsidian eye. But before he could act, the colossal eye closed and retreated into the pitch-black darkness. He scoffed.

“Coward. He thinks he can just flee after looking down on us like he’s some kind of supreme being! Don’t let him escape!”

Meanwhile, Cassian’s eyes dilated, a chill racing down his spine. That overwhelming darkness… it wasn’t just powerful—it was suffocating. And the aura that came with it wasn’t simply that of a dark Celestial. No, this was something deeper—consuming.

This being hadn’t just mastered darkness—he had surrendered to it. Worshipped it.

Embraced it with open arms.

Just like Cassian.

He had turned his back on nature.

But unlike Cassian, who still clung to a bit of restraint—of light—this person had given himself completely to the abyss. Cassian’s fingers twitched, his body went rigid, and a hoarse whisper slipped from his lips.

“So… there’s another like me? But he has gone so much farther. I want to chase him. I want to understand how he reached that depth… as if he himself is a living hell.”

But even as Cassian said that, startling those around him, he couldn’t tell whether the revelation stirred excitement, curiosity—or something far more complex.
