Celestial Bloodline

Chapter 858 What a mess they have created

Chapter 858  What a mess they have created

In Avalon, suddenly, in front of everyone’s eyes, the old man they called the Will of the Universe erupted into laughter. His glowing eyes were filled with mirth, which told them that he had succeeded in his task.

Yet, before they could all feel relieved, his body shattered into fragments. Their eyes widened, for the old man still wore a smile on his face even in his final moments.

Since the Will of the Universe was born from the universe, his consciousness and soul were absorbed by the surroundings; thus, with time, he would get a new body.

Jian cursed under his breath.

“That old geezer was telling the truth when he said his body would shatter due to the immense weight! Now what should we—”

His words were cut short, and everyone gasped as the large Celestial spirit trapped in the array broke free with an angry cry.

The many glowing symbols they were grasping with the power of their natural laws transformed into bright particles.

The entire land of Avalon brightened even more as countless lights floated around.

Then, the floating array broke apart like fragile glass. The spirit unleashed another piercing sound, and its powerful spiritual energy erupted in a dazzling display in all directions, followed by a furious melody that resonated with an enchanting power capable of bewitching all who heard it.

Alec covered his ears and roared.

“Don’t listen! Snap out of it!”

His voice jolted many from their daze. Jian, Yue, Fedric, and James shouted after him, urging everyone to regain their senses.

The spirit was furious at the mere insects who dared to trap it, especially because of the old individual who had the audacity to force its consciousness into its body.

Its overwhelming power immobilized everyone floating in the vicinity. Those who had regained their senses gritted their teeth and fought back fiercely. In contrast, those who had succumbed to the melody stood frozen, staring blankly into the air.

Before the spirit could advance to devour every individual surrounding it, a bloodied body was violently hurled from a colossal crack that tore open in the sky above and crashed through its formless shape.

Blood splattered across the pristine white, immense glowing form, shocking the spirit into a momentary pause. That tiny fleeting moment was enough for everyone in the vicinity to regain their mobility.

Alec and Nine, who were nearby, regrouped, ready to shout for everyone to gather, but a heavy, dark weight descended upon Avalon, engulfing every trace of light in an instant.

They all froze for the second time.

The pressure the spirit had unleashed earlier was insignificant compared to this monstrous force that had just appeared.

A familiar, suffocating darkness crept into the space, wrapping around them like a vice and leaving everyone gasping for breath.

Yue’s trembling gaze darted toward the bloodied figure that had been flung out of the crack earlier, and she swallowed hard, her heart racing as she recognized Kyle.

He had urged them all to focus on their task, no matter the circumstances. Yet, who could have imagined he would be facing off against Azazeal on his own?

Alec and the others also spotted him. Wasn’t he supposed to handle the dark army after he left Azazeal somewhere?

What happened?

Yet, no one received an answer as a booming noise echoed through the air.

Their bodies shook as the pressure on them intensified when Azazeal emerged from the crack. Even the Celestial spirit quivered in terror.

“I will kill you…”

“I will…”

He muttered incessantly with a wild, maniacal gleam in his eyes, completely devoid of any reasoning, as if his mind had finally crossed the threshold of madness.

Fedric, Ma, James, four of the supreme elders, Alec, Nine, and Carcel all tried to move to help Kyle, who had crashed into Avalon after passing through the spirit.

However, in a shocking display of force, they were all flung far away as if they were mere leaves caught in a tempest. Not just them, but every person in the vicinity was swept aside roughly, helpless against the overwhelming power unleashed.

Azazeal moved like a blur, so fast that no one even caught a glimpse of his shadow, and he tore into the trembling spirit.

It cried out in agony before its formless figure fragmented into tiny pieces, which turned dark and flowed into his body.

His eyes bled, and he cried out once more. The sound echoed, hurting the eardrums of everyone except Kyle, who looked up at him, wiping the blood from his lips.

Kyle hurriedly floated out of the crater he had created when he fell. His bright silver hair was stained red with blood.

“Stop! There is no use anymore!”

His voice echoed in the air as he charged toward Azazeal. Despite getting beaten up, he could at least hold his own now. That alone told him he had grown stronger.

“The celestial realm will be open soon. So, let’s leave together and go to a place that can contain your power.”

Kyle had tried his best to hold off this man in the fragments of Sacred Divine Land. But Azazeal had lost his mind when he realized he wouldn’t be able to destroy the universe. His eyes lost their luster, indicating that he was no longer in control of his thoughts.

“Ugh…”

The two clashed in the air, and it was clear who was winning and who was losing.

Kyle was losing—very badly, at that.

However, he remained calm.

Alec and the rest regained their balance.

Sending Kyle flying once again, Azazeal suddenly turned back, and a familiar beam of energy shot out from his finger.

Everyone who saw the beam tried to run. Yet, before it could reach them, a massive portal appeared to consume it. Instantly, another portal linked to the first one took shape behind Azazeal, and his own attack came crashing down upon him.

He laughed maniacally and effortlessly absorbed the glowing beam back into his body, which was shrouded in darkness.

Distance away, Kyle spat out blood.

“We are not done yet! Don’t you dare touch the others! You want to kill me, right? Then come at me with everything you have got!”

He shouted and vanished. His glowing figure streaked across the dark sky as he attacked Azazeal with a clenched fist. The man effortlessly stopped his strike but staggered back due to his hazy eyes. Kyle bellowed with all his might, his voice echoing like thunder through the air.

“Snap out of it! You bastard!”

Azazeal sent him flying again, but he returned with even greater force.

“So you want to lose your sanity before you kill Nathaniel? Is that it?? That’s the reason you’ve suffered for so many years?!”

“No way! I won’t let you! You have to die by my hands, not because of your power!”

Azazeal’s glowing eyes flickered with something deeper, and Kyle attacked him again, only to be sent flying once more.

Yet, he didn’t stop.

He charged at him again and again, even when his body wanted to just give up.

Two dazzling streaks of light—one a fierce purple and the other a brilliant blue—blazed across the dark sky, sending shockwaves through everything in their path.

The very air crackled with energy. They unleashed such power that a portion of Avalon was shattered into tiny rocks.

James, Ma, Alec, Lara, and everyone else who had gathered and then teleported away to safety watched in stunned silence. The display of power before them was truly overwhelming and otherworldly.

Regius spoke up suddenly.

“Shouldn’t we help Kyle?”

Alec and Jian replied together.

“No, we can’t. Don’t you remember what happened in the Lost Treasure Tomb?”

Yue clenched her fists as Bia’s small figure landed on her shoulder, looking worried.

“He will be fine. He has faced worse challenges. I believe in him.”

They all wore solemn expressions and watched, but the situation was only getting worse. Just before it could escalate further, the air shifted, and many instinctively felt it when something changed in the universe.

James lifted his head to glance up. He couldn’t sense where it was, but he knew that what he was feeling was right.

“The gate to Celestial realm has opened!”

His words hung in the air, and everyone looked around. They had to find where the gate had opened… their thoughts came to a halt when they heard Azazeal’s laughter.

Azazeal stared blankly into the air. Kyle’s injured figure appeared before him, but seeing him pause, he halted as well.

They both floated in the air, their ethereal glowing bodies surrounded by darkness.

Kyle was panting and in critical condition, with nearly half of his bones broken and multiple external injuries. Azazeal was unharmed, yet enveloped in shadows.

This was the scene of destruction that the three ancient beings clad in white and dark robes beheld when they finally arrived at the scene, sensing the aura of the Celestials.

They glanced at Azazeal, and a wave of unease washed over the three. He wasn’t a monster, yet the sight of his bleeding eyes sent chills racing down their spines. The strongest among them whispered.

“A Dark Celestial?”

His voice echoed like a melodic sound. He spoke very faintly, but the words carried so far that everyone in the area heard him.

Alec and the others turned their gazes toward the voice, stunned as they beheld the three radiant figures draped in flowing robes, hovering above Kyle and Azazeal.

Mia squeezed Carcel’s hand.

“Celestials…”

The short woman among the Celestials sighed, overwhelmed by a headache.

“What a mess they have created. This universe is dying… I can taste blood in the air and the aura of dead souls.”

The one among them who loved nature glared at Azazeal. He wanted to attack him, but the other two stopped him.

The woman whispered.

“Don’t provoke him. I don’t know how, but that young man is stronger than we are.”
