Celestial Beast Taming
Chapter 426 - 246: Monopolizer Badge
Chapter 426: Chapter 246: Monopolizer Badge
Every surviving participant now represented a large sum of points and a vast amount of resources.
Even when two teams chose to cooperate, many of their members found the temptation irresistible and turned on their own allies.
It was as if Zhong Yi was conducting a large-scale battle royale.
Hong Ji and Ice Glaze weren’t idle, either. As usual, they went about harvesting the heavily injured participants.
Time ticked by, second by second, as a great number of participants died fighting amongst themselves.
During this time, Hong Ji and Ice Glaze had also harvested the Life of nearly 30 heavily injured participants.
Zhong Yi’s points firmly held first place, putting him in a league of his own!
His score had also broken the rare Ten Thousand Points milestone.
A score exceeding Ten Thousand Points was a rare sight in the Second Level Secret Realms hosted by the Wanyu Gambling Company.
But Ten Thousand Points was not enough to halt the growth of Zhong Yi’s score.
In fact, after he surpassed Ten Thousand Points, his score began to increase at an even faster rate.
In the midst of the matched battles, Zhong Yi’s eyes locked onto Gong Lei and Qiao Shuyu.
He also noticed Cui Zhi, who was with Qiao Shuyu, and another participant who looked extremely wretched, having lost an arm.
These few were undoubtedly the strongest individuals remaining in the arena created by the Endless Wood Demon.
Zhong Yi had already used All Things Exploration to inspect their stats.
All four of them possessed Purple Fate Grids.
Judging from the strength Qiao Shuyu and Gong Lei had displayed, their power was not much less than Jin Zhan’s.
But something like a Fate Grid wasn’t determined by strength.
A Fate Grid represented one’s opportunities and potential for future achievements.
The two of them were a tier below Jin Zhan in terms of their Fate Grids, meaning their future development would inevitably be less smooth than his.
Zhong Yi was a little curious. ’If these two were bound by a Soul Taming Seed Contract...’
’...could their Fate Grids be upgraded?’
But here in this Secret Realm, Zhong Yi had no way to test his hypothesis.
During battle, Qiao Shuyu did her best to protect Cui Zhi.
Cui Zhi fought with a reckless frenzy; she had more than enough offensive power but lacked defensive abilities.
Qiao Shuyu would use her Cang Jiao Ocean Current to block attacks for Cui Zhi.
However, after being matched against seven or eight consecutive waves of opponents—several of which consisted of more than two people—Cui Zhi was repeatedly injured and gradually lost her Ability to fight.
This relentless gauntlet of battles took a heavy toll not only on Cui Zhi, but it was also severely draining Qiao Shuyu.
Now, when Qiao Shuyu commanded the Cang Jiao Ocean Current, it had long lost its initial might.
Qiao Shuyu had already activated her Mermaid Tear Domain, but the Energy it restored for her was nowhere near enough to match her expenditure.
Having just survived the eighth wave of battle, Qiao Shuyu was preparing to pull Cui Zhi into her Mermaid Tear Domain.
Her Mermaid Tear Domain’s restorative effects on others weren’t as potent as they were on herself, but it would still provide Cui Zhi with some much-needed replenishment.
But before Qiao Shuyu could act, an extraordinarily elegant white fox suddenly appeared.
The fox had tails five to six times the length of its body.
These fluffy, satin-like tails suddenly fanned out and smashed directly toward Cui Zhi, who was barely propping herself up to keep from falling.
The moment the tails struck Cui Zhi, the soft fur on them seemed to transform into countless Ice Needles radiating a chilling aura.
Under the assault of five tails, the exhausted Cui Zhi was obliterated, leaving not even a bone behind.
Cui Zhi was reduced to a pulp, yet not a single speck of her tainted the fox’s tails.
The five tails remained as spotless as flowing satin, but judging by how easily they had destroyed Cui Zhi’s body, their destructive power had to be immense!
Qiao Shuyu immediately assumed a fighting stance.
But she found that the five-tailed white fox simply glanced at her before suddenly vanishing.
The loot that Cui Zhi dropped was teleported away just before the white fox disappeared.
Almost simultaneously, the one-armed participant with the Purple Fate Grid was tightly bound. The Blood Thread Puppet, having transformed into a War Puppet, had seized control of his blood vessels.
Hong Ji used a jade-white Bone Spike to stab down through the crown of the participant’s skull.
After the Ancient Sword pierced his body, it began to rapidly proliferate and branch out as if it were alive.
In an instant, it had overgrown the participant’s entire body.
Zhong Yi sensed the conditions of Qiao Shuyu and Gong Lei, then placed them together in a new area.
Then, he sent all the other remaining participants there as well.
In truth, if Zhong Yi had given the participants time to carefully investigate and analyze their surroundings, it wouldn’t have taken long for them to discover the trick and find a way to overcome the environment.
Even with every possible environmental advantage, the Endless Wood Demon was still just a Second Level Creature.
But Zhong Yi gave no one a chance to react!
These suddenly-matched opponents were a death knell for anyone who tried to think.
Anyone who got distracted during a fight to ponder the environment would be swiftly killed by their matched opponent.
Seven participants were involved in this final, chaotic brawl.
Including Zhong Yi, there were currently a total of 26 participants left in the Secret Realm.
In other words, after these seven were killed, there would still be nineteen people left inside.
To set this trap, Zhong Yi had cast out both bait and hooks.
But ultimately, not everyone was here to explore in search of great treasures.
This worked out perfectly for Zhong Yi, giving him the opportunity to kill Qiao Shuyu and Gong Lei and claim the resources they had gathered.
