Celestial Beast Taming

Chapter 251: Chapter 158: The 9 Major Ecosystems and the Holy Spirit
If Cao Xing’an was any kind of smart, he would never let Tao En leave Longya City.
And if Zhong Yi were in Cao Xing’an’s shoes, Tao En would likely be long dead.
Zhong Yi was not one to take chances; he wouldn’t allow someone who posed a potential risk to him to live on.
Even if that person had already lost the ability to fight back.
"Master Tao En, I am building my own faction. I will ask you again, very seriously."
"Are you willing to join me and follow me to Starlight City?"
Upon hearing this, Tao En stood up and bowed respectfully to Zhong Yi.
"I am willing. Even if you can’t completely heal my soul, I’ll be satisfied as long as I can activate my Soul Base and summon my Guardian Beast."
"Niannian will be coming with me to Starlight City. You can trust me completely."
"Moreover, I’m willing to accept any kind of Restriction."
Tao En’s reply was decisive. His current life was a quagmire.
Beneath the surface, countless unseen hands were dragging him and Niannian deeper into the muck.
Tao En’s mindset now was very similar to Zhao Kai’s had been, except Tao En wasn’t a loner like Zhao Kai.
Tao En still had his granddaughter, Tao Niannian, to think about.
Tao En desperately wanted to create a safe, carefree environment for Tao Niannian; he didn’t want her suffering alongside him any longer.
Tao En had always been extremely confident in his abilities as a Creator and a Guardian Beast Master.
If his soul was fortunate enough to be fully restored, allowing him to regain the power of a Five-finger Peak Creator, then the rewards for following Zhong Yi would surely be immense.
Even if his soul didn’t recover, as long as he could summon his Guardian Beast, the benefits afforded to an Eternal Tier Guardian Beast Master wouldn’t be too shabby either.
Upon hearing this, Zhong Yi immediately summoned the Resurrection Celestial Lord once more. He had it condense a dozen or so Cores of Resurgence and implant them into Tao En’s soul.
Then, he activated the Exclusive Trait, Celestial Praise.
Zhong Yi needed to completely drain the Resurrection Celestial Lord’s Energy to gauge how long it would take him to fully heal Tao En’s injuries.
The Resurrection Celestial Lord’s Basic Skill, Recovery Enlightenment, possessed the inherent ability to cleanse curses.
As such, it was exceptionally effective at clearing the curse-laced toxins from Tao En’s soul.
However, these toxins had thoroughly saturated Tao En’s soul and even caused parts of it to mutate.
This massively increased the difficulty of Zhong Yi’s treatment.
Zhong Yi furrowed his brow. ’Healing Tao En is going to be a massive undertaking.’
Tao En, for his part, was once again shocked beyond belief!
This latest treatment from Zhong Yi made Tao En feel a dramatic improvement in his condition.
After so many years, it was the first time Tao En had felt such a pleasant sensation in his soul.
It was so pleasant that Tao En couldn’t help but let out a soft hum.
Zhong Yi contemplated for a moment before speaking.
"Master Tao En, there’s hardly a healthy spot left in your soul."
"Just clearing out the toxins will take at least four days."
"Those insects festering in the wounds of your soul are likely a unique parasite from some Ghost Secret Realm."
"With so many of them breeding in your soul, there must be a Mother Insect."
"To completely clear out these parasites, I’ll first need to find the Mother Insect, and then we can drive the rest of them out."
"We’ll have to find a substance that attracts them. When we drive them out, we’ll need to lure them from your soul and onto that substance."
"This lure will need to be found in a Ghost Secret Realm."
"Once those two things are done, you’ll need to sever all the mutated parts of your soul. Then, I can help your incomplete but healthy soul recover fully."
"That’s the treatment plan I’ve devised for you. I know it sounds a bit complicated."
"But if we can find a lure for these insects easily, your soul could be fully healed in about half a month."
Zhong Yi was being extremely conservative with his time estimate.
Tao En was, without a doubt, the most difficult patient Zhong Yi had ever encountered.
It would require Zhong Yi to drain the Resurrection Celestial Lord’s Energy completely every single day for about half a month.
The joyous expression on Tao En’s face hadn’t even faded yet when Zhong Yi’s words nearly brought him to tears.
Tao En had never actually believed Zhong Yi could completely heal his soul’s wounds.
That was why he had said he would pledge his allegiance if Zhong Yi could simply enable him to summon his Guardian Beast.
This was because Tao En could already feel that parts of his soul had mutated, and these mutated sections restricted his ability to control his Soul Power.
When Tao En had spoken of becoming a Six-finger Creator, it was a resolution he’d made to strive for that goal despite his soul’s affliction.
There was one thing Tao En had never told anyone.
Before he was crippled in the Secret Realm, he had actually been on the very threshold of becoming a Six-finger Creator.
He had even successfully concocted a Fire Dragon Potion!
The Fire Dragon Potion could help a Fire Attribute Dragon Species Guardian Beast break through its Bloodline limitations when it was on the verge of reaching the Main Dragon Species, allowing its Bloodline to evolve directly into a Main Dragon Species.
The Fire Dragon Potion was the simplest Sixth Level Potion, requiring just over 240 ingredients.
While it was the easiest of the Sixth Level Potions to concoct, it was, without a doubt, still a Sixth Level Potion.
Zhong Yi had just managed to regrow a small part of his soul that had been devoured by those insects.
This was proof enough that Zhong Yi had a method for regenerating the soul.
Even for Tao En, a Five-finger Peak Creator who had witnessed countless wonders, a technique like this was something he had never even heard of.
Zhong Yi’s Healing Ability for the soul was even greater than that of the legendary Soul Element treasure, the Ten-Thousand-Year Soul Ginseng.
Even a Ten-Thousand-Year Soul Ginseng could only mend a cracked soul.
It couldn’t make a damaged soul regenerate what was lost.
Tao En hadn’t been idle all these years; he understood his own injuries perfectly.
"Lord Zhong Yi, the insects infesting my soul should be the Soul-Devouring Demon Insects from the Ghost Secret Realm, which parasitize the souls of Soul Split Demons."
"Because I’m human, not a Soul Split Demon, the type of energy in my soul is different. This has kept these Soul-Devouring Demon Insects in their Juvenile Stage."
"The Mother Insect should be in the center of this fissure in my soul."
"The medium used to construct a Soul Split Demon’s soul should be able to lure away these undeveloped Soul-Devouring Demon Insects."
"After I was injured, I tried using medium extracted from a Soul Split Demon’s soul to attract them."
"But even the weakest Soul Split Demons are at the Mythical Tier, and extracting the medium from one’s soul requires the demon to be alive."
"It also requires the skill of a Four-finger Creator to accomplish. I’ve never had the opportunity."
Hearing this, Cui Heng spoke up.
"I have some of the medium extracted from a Soul Split Demon’s soul in stock. I deliberately prepared extra when I was planning to cultivate a Soul Element Guardian Beast."
As he spoke, Cui Heng took out a container.
It held a mass of gray-brown material that emitted a fluorescent glow.
Cui Heng had just taken out the medium extracted from the Soul Split Demon’s soul, but before he could even open the container, a muffled groan came from Tao En, who suddenly clutched the back of his head.
Seeing this, Cui Heng hurriedly put the medium back into his Storage Pouch.
After a long moment, Tao En’s condition improved.
This sudden development brought looks of joy to everyone’s faces.
It proved that the medium extracted from the Soul Split Demon’s soul held an immense attraction for the undeveloped Soul-Devouring Demon Insects in Tao En’s soul.
With this medium, they could first clear out the parasitic insects from Tao En’s soul.
After clearing out the insects, it would be easier for Zhong Yi to deal with the waste they had excreted in Tao En’s soul, and then he could heal this most severe of wounds in one fell swoop.
This would greatly shorten Tao En’s treatment time, making Zhong Yi confident he could fully heal him within ten days.
