Celestial Beast Taming
Chapter 220 - 143: 5-finger Peak Creator
Chapter 220: Chapter 143: 5-finger Peak Creator
At first, Zhao Kai thought Zhong Yi only wanted him to recruit apprentices to serve the estate and cultivate a few Guardian Beasts for practical, everyday use.
But now, Zhao Kai fully understood Zhong Yi’s true purpose and intentions.
He could see in Zhong Yi’s earnest eyes the ambition and desire to build his own faction.
The only problem was, if Zhong Yi wanted to cultivate an outstanding team of Creators for this faction, neither he nor Wu Qing were qualified to lead it.
’After all, he and Wu Qing were merely Four-finger Creators!’
It would be incredibly difficult for them to attract and recruit any Three-finger Craftsman Apprentices.
Today at the Craftsmen’s Guild, even after Wu Qing brought out the Elemental Activation Potion as a draw,
only a few Three-finger Creators approached him with questions.
Yet not a single Three-finger Creator chose to become Wu Qing’s apprentice.
In contrast, the one- and two-finger Creators were extremely enthusiastic.
’To take on a Three-finger Creator as an apprentice, you’d need to be a Five-finger Creator at the very least.’
Zhao Kai suddenly thought of someone. If this person were willing to join Zhong Yi’s faction, he would be perfectly capable of shouldering the responsibility of building up their Creator division.
If anyone else were to invite him, they would almost certainly fail.
But if Zhong Yi went himself, and if he could heal the man’s injuries...
...there was a very real possibility the man would pledge his allegiance to him.
"Young Master, I wonder if you’ve ever heard of a man named Tao En."
After a moment of contemplation, Zhong Yi shook his head.
He had truly never heard the name Tao En before.
’I designed the game primarily from the perspective of Starlight City.’
’Since characters from other cities didn’t have main quests, I never got around to designing them.’
Seeing Zhong Yi shake his head, Zhao Kai began to explain Tao En’s story in detail.
Through Zhao Kai’s explanation, Zhong Yi learned of Tao En’s circumstances.
Tao En hailed from Longya City. He was unremarkable in his youth, a late bloomer who only found success in middle age.
After becoming a Five-finger Creator, Tao En began to make a name for himself.
However, his talent was perhaps too sharp. Soon after becoming a Five-finger Creator, he clashed with a Five-finger High Tier Creator.
As a newly-minted Five-finger Creator, Tao En faced considerable pressure from this established Five-finger High Tier Creator.
But Tao En’s talent was immense, and he advanced by leaps and bounds.
In less than ten years, he became a Five-finger Peak Creator.
The veteran Five-finger High Tier Creator, knowing he couldn’t compete, repeatedly apologized and offered Tao En a great deal of resources as compensation.
It was said that Tao En was on track to become the Xin Xia Federation’s sixth Six-finger Creator within twenty years.
Countless people tried to curry favor with him back then, but Tao En was arrogant. Not only did he refuse to give the veteran Five-finger High Tier Creator a way to save face,
he also used ruthless methods to suppress the many factions that had helped his rival, crippling them severely.
But during one exploration of a Secret Realm, Tao En’s soul was damaged. Even after the injury supposedly healed, his ability to stimulate his soul was reduced to the level of a Three-finger Peak Creator.
His entire world came crashing down in a single night!
The veteran Five-finger Creator he had humiliated, along with the factions he had ruthlessly suppressed, all struck back once they confirmed his condition was permanent.
After becoming a Five-finger Peak Creator, Tao En had gathered a number of factions under his own banner.
These factions had enjoyed significant growth and opportunity under his protection.
But once they learned of his downfall, the vast majority of them simply abandoned him.
Some even turned on him, becoming the very daggers pointed at his back.
In the end, it took the intervention of three of Longya City’s official Celestial Destiny Seekers to quell the turmoil.
After the incident, Tao En chose not to leave Longya City.
Instead, he opened a shop on the border between the Upper and Lower City Districts.
Hearing Zhao Kai’s story, Zhong Yi began to weigh his options.
’Thanks to the Resurrection Celestial Lord, I can indeed take advantage of situations like this and pick up a ’diamond in the rough’ like Tao En.’
’Tao En isn’t unable to mobilize his Soul Power, unlike Zhao Kai’s situation. His ability to use his soul has just weakened.’
’A situation like this could mean one of two things. Either his soul was torn, and that wound has never fully healed...’
’...or he lost a part of his soul for some reason.’
’If it’s the former, I can use the Resurrection Celestial Lord to activate the Life Template within his body and restore him.’
’If it’s the latter, then there’s nothing I can do.’
’Regardless, a Five-finger Peak Creator is worth a trip to Longya City.’
’Since coming to this world, I’ve never left Starlight City. It’s about time I took a trip.’
Longya City was rich with all sorts of Dragon Species Guardian Beasts. Going there, Zhong Yi could not only search for outstanding ones...
...he could purchase any he needed and bring them back to Starlight City to raise.
He could also see about acquiring more Dragon Crystals from the Fairy Flashing Phosphorus Flood Dragon.
As for the rumors Zhao Kai mentioned about Tao En, the truth was likely quite different from the stories.
But regardless, Tao En’s predicament was real.
Having decided to take a trip to Longya City, Zhong Yi pulled out his phone and called Wen Tao directly.
He told Wen Tao that he was planning to go to Longya City.
Wen Tao mulled it over for a moment before replying.
"Xiaoyi, you mentioned wanting Dragon Crystals from the Fairy Flashing Phosphorus Flood Dragon. I was actually about to have Ah Jun make a run to Longya City for me."
"Since you’re heading there yourself, I’ll have Elder Cui go with you."
