Caught in Affairs with Superstar
Chapter 1716 - 836: Courage
Chapter 1716: Chapter 836: Courage
Some actors focus only on acting all their lives and don’t care about anything else.
But Zhou Yun and Ning Yao are clearly not such actors.
In today’s era, being a purely acting-focused actor seems quite difficult.
Whether it’s Zhou Yun or Ning Yao, even if they don’t take action, many will seek them out and invite them to act.
In any industry, those at the top hold the most resources. For the same task, it might take others four or five years, but for them, it might only take three months.
A single phone call can settle it.
That’s why many actors later transform into directors themselves; with investors, producers, and so many photographers, lighting technicians, and makeup artists they’ve collaborated with, they have convenient resources to transition to directing.
The evening’s networking event predominantly had Korean attendees.
Zhou Yun was pleasantly surprised to see Jin Zhulin there.
Since Jin Zhulin left the "Killing Song" crew due to an injury, Zhou Yun hadn’t seen her again.
Later, she heard Jin Zhulin took on another Korean drama, and unexpectedly, they met again in Berlin today.
During the daytime opening ceremony and red carpet, Zhou Yun didn’t see Jin Zhulin.
She cheerfully greeted Jin Zhulin and asked, "Why didn’t I see you this morning?"
Jin Zhulin smiled helplessly and said, "My flight was delayed, couldn’t make it on time."
At today’s event, Jin Zhulin was the most famous Korean actress present, with people continuously approaching to greet and toast her.
Comparatively, although Zhou Yun and Ning Yao were popular, since they were from different countries, apart from a few big names, others were somewhat intimidated to approach them.
Facing Jin Zhulin was entirely different.
Zhou Yun and Ning Yao didn’t meet many people at the event, not everyone spoke English, making communication a challenge.
Zhou Yun noticed director Kim Bingde surrounded by people all the time and thought she might not have the chance to chat with him tonight. At such times, she never forces interactions, as hasty meetings can’t convey much, so sometimes it’s better not to meet.
But just as Zhou Yun was about to leave, Kim Bingde suddenly left the crowd with his assistant and headed towards her.
"Miss Zhou!" Kim Bingde’s assistant called in slightly clumsy Chinese.
Zhou Yun already had a radiant smile, knowing how to smile charmingly in such settings.
"Director, hello." Zhou Yun began in English.
She knew Kim Bingde’s English was good, as Ning Yao had mentioned.
Upon hearing Zhou Yun speak English, Kim Bingde was delighted and immediately replied in English, saying, "Oh, it’s wonderful we can communicate directly in English. I wanted to talk to you earlier but was surrounded and couldn’t get away."
"Everyone is eager to meet you when given a chance," Zhou Yun quickly said, "I also wanted to meet you, but with so many people around, I thought I’d wait until later for a proper opportunity."
Kim Bingde: "Why wait? I’ve heard Ning Yao mention you several times. I asked her who her favorite actress in China was, and she named you."
Zhou Yun was taken aback, eyes wide with surprise, "Really?"
"Yes, I always believe it’s not special for an actress to be admired by men but to be appreciated by another equally exceptional actress is the real skill." Kim Bingde said with a smile.
He gave Zhou Yun a particularly distinct feeling.
If Japanese director Yu Zhihe gave her the impression of being gentle, reserved, and somewhat cute, Kim Bingde was epitome of passion and expressive emotion.
Through her conversation with Kim Bingde, Zhou Yun felt this even more vividly.
Kim Bingde’s emotions were intensely overwhelming, almost hard for Zhou Yun to handle.
Indeed, it was just like the style of his films.
In Kim Bingde’s movies, there is also a strong personal style, not only with vibrant colors but also intense emotions, sometimes melodramatic, yet managed in a sophisticated manner.
