It’s been stalled like this. I introduced some actors to him before to see if anyone would be interested in the script and willing to act. If a well-known actor were to act, it’d be easier for him to attract investments. Unfortunately, no actors really showed interest in a new director’s work. If I hadn’t heard Zhou Lan mention your interest in supporting new directors, I wouldn’t have introduced him to you."

Zhou Yun: "I earned some money these past few years, and I don’t really have any other hobbies. Keeping the money doesn’t have much use, so why not support something I love?"

Each episode will have a theme, like espionage or romance. Are you interested?"

"Over ten years ago, dialogue programs were actually quite popular. Back then, TV stations didn’t invest much into a program. Our production budget was very limited, and we launched many dialogue and interview shows. They had a lot of viewers, but now most platforms are keen on producing large-scale reality game shows and observational variety shows. It’s rare to have a simple, focused discussion now. So I thought about picking up this form again, not aiming for immense popularity, just like ’Life Participation’, as long as it’s well-made it’ll be fine."

Zhou Yun and Song Chi exchanged a glance.

Song Chi nodded as well.

Lew Yuan: "Right now it’s just an idea, but I think only online platforms would be willing to broadcast it, and they probably won’t offer much funding either."

"I think it’s a good thing." Song Chi said, "Currently, we don’t have a show specifically discussing what movies really are. If we could have a serious discussion about films, I think it’d be great."

"Not just films though, now series are really worth discussing too." Zhou Yun said, "Plus, more actors could participate this way. Many actors are really good but don’t get much opportunity to play roles with significant scope for performance in films, whereas series offer those opportunities."

"If you’re interested, I’ll carefully think it through, because if you guys aren’t interested, and a non-film-industry person like me does it, it would be too unprofessional. I don’t want to pretend to say some high-sounding words." Lew Yuan laughed, "I’ll draft a program plan first, and once it’s ready I’ll send it to you to look over."
