11 Cat Dad is Arrested!
Chapter 11 – Cat Dad is Arrested!
“Sorry, munya.”
It was too late to apologize. The thug was already unconscious.
Another school-wall-climber guy was enraged. He raised a metal pipe, which he had been carrying with his as a weapon, and swung it horizontally, aiming at Xiaomao’s body.
It ended up hitting Xiaomao’s left arm and knocked the phone off his hand.
POEK
The biker sensed the feedback impact from the metal pipe. He sneered, believing that Xiaomao’s hand or arm might have been broken at the very least.
Betraying his expectation, Xiaomao only looked at his phone, which had been knocked away and fallen on the hard concrete sidewalk.
The touchscreen was cracked.
“My phone, munya!”
“???”
The biker frowned and stared at Xiaomao’s left arm.
There was no scratch wound. It didn’t swell or redden because of the impact.
Before the biker realized what was going on, Xiaomao turned around, and a fist came at the biker’s lower chin.
The thug sensed the impact from below his chin. His jaw felt weird, and his teeth clattered and shattered from the sudden collision. His gum bled, and he accidentally bit the edge of his tongue.
The sudden pain overwhelmed him while his vision spun. The water in his brain shook, and he passed out on the spot.
…
After knocking out two thugs from BT Public High School, Xiaomao scratched his left arm.
It stung, but no visible harm was done to his arm.
Xiaomao had a wry smile on his face as he could guess what happened to him. He closed his eyes and thought of the game.
A hazy and cloudy status window appeared behind his eyelids. However, Xiaomao could faintly see a red color bar.
The red bar didn’t change.
‘It’s happening. My 50 VIT is working, but it’s not supposed to start working within a day!’.
The average adult’s attack power was about 3-4 ATK points in-game. Combining with a blunt weapon, such as a metal pipe, the value should be about 7-10 ATK points.
However, Xiaomao’s game character had 25 DEF points. After the damage calculation, something like 7-10 ATK points couldn’t decrease his HP by more than 10 per hit.
Still, that calculation was for the game. It was not supposed to affect Xiaomao’s real life.
Something was wrong.
‘It’s happening too fast. Is it because of the UR character or the legendary add-on skill? No, if that’s the case, several millionaires would have discovered this secret already, and it would have been on the news. The integration part should have started after the Heavenly Dao Patch, not the pre-Landlord Patch!’
As Xiaomao kept closing his eyes and trying to focus on the hazy blue screens, the game menu slowly faded and vanished.
Once Xiaomao could no longer see anything, his entire body felt numb. His strength slowly left his body, and he felt like a human again.
Xiaomao opened his eyes and looked at the two unconscious men. Fortunately, they didn’t explode items like dead monsters in the game.
‘I see. It’s only temporary. If no one pays attention, they won’t sense the changes. I doubt those millionaire investors are aware of this yet.’
Xiaomao searched the bodies of the thugs. He pulled out their wallets and pulled out some banknotes. Then, he put the money in his pocket.
It was a custom that players needed to search and loot dead monsters’ bodies. Xiaomao simply followed the norm.
There was no such thing as thievery.
After securing some pocket money, Xiaomao picked up his broken phone.
Xiaomao wanted to cry. He bought this phone with his own money, but these thugs ruined it. Secondly, the looted money wasn’t enough to buy the latest phone, aka iPhone 69 SE-GS Model.
He turned to the chaotic fight in front of the school.
Suddenly, the sound of whistles and police cars’ sirens came from outside the school. The cops had arrived.
Xiaomao walked toward the crowd of normal students and blended in, watching the show from afar.
Liu Bei and his gang were tackled and pinned to the ground. The cops arrested them and the biker thugs.
But as the cops dragged the troublemakers to their custody vans, one of the students pointed at Xiaomao and yelled, “That guy, too, mister officer! One of those gangsters is hiding here!”
Xiaomao glared at the student, wanting to yell, “What’s the matter with you?! Can you shut up?!”
Unfortunately, one of the officers heard the voice. He followed the direction of the student and stood in front of Xiaomao.
“Come with me.”
The police cuffed Xiaomao’s wrists and dragged him toward the front of the school.
“…”
Xiaomao sighed. He gave the student a meaningful look.
The snitcher wore thick glasses, and he was shorter than average high schoolers. He had that mushroom hairstyle, which attracted bullies.
As Xiaomao looked at the student, he suddenly remembered the guy’s name.
His name was Cai He from Class A, one of the 10 top scorers in the previous exam. He was ranked lower than Xiaomao as he scored 15 points less.
In Xiaomao’s previous life, he didn’t know this guy well. However, he heard that all students in Class A had issues with his attitudes of his competitiveness in exam scores.
Xiaomao grinned and scoffed at Cai He. He believed that the boy did this to get rid of his competitor.
‘I see. So, that’s how it’s going to be? Are you that petty, boy?’
…
BAM
The police officers threw Xiaomao into a police custody van. As he was the last person, two cops entered the van and shut the doors behind them.
Xiaomao looked ahead. He found Liu Bei, Shi Hui, and several thugs in there with their hands cuffed.
Liu Bei laughed, “You’re not one of the fighters. Why are they taking you?”
“Who knows? Maybe one of your classmates snitched me?”
“Who?”
“Cai He.”
“Oh, that cheeky bastard. But you didn’t do anything wrong, though. Don’t worry about it.”
Xiaomao had a wry smile on his face as he sat next to Liu Bei. As soon as he sat, one of the PT Public thugs spat and yelled at Xiaomao.
“Boss. This guy knocked down our brothers. I saw him steal their money after they got knocked out.”
Shi Hui glared at Xiaomao, but Liu Bei widened his eyes in astonishment.
“I didn’t know you were this good, bro. Much respect!” Liu Bei gave Xiaomao a thumbs up.
“Return the money, or else!” Shi Hui stood up and was about to jump Xiaomao.
POEK
Liu Bei kicked Shi Hui’s stomach. The latter was forced to sit down.
“Sit down, son. The adults are talking.”
“You!”
The thugs and Liu Bei’s men stood up and started kicking each other. The second round started.
Fortunately, the officers, who had been sitting at the back of the van, brought out their batons and smacked them.
“PIPE IT DOWN!”
Liu Bei and Shi Hui got back in their seats, but they didn’t stop glaring at each other. The other thugs also stared at Xiaomao.
“Haiya.”
Liu Bei snickered, “Don’t worry. I won’t let this affect you. Just cooperate with the cops and wait.”
“…”
…
Police Station, 8.30 PM.
As Xiaomao, Liu Bei, and Shi Hui had been sitting idly in a separate cell, a police officer walked toward their rooms and unlocked the doors for Liu Bei and his men.
“You all got bailed. Get out!”
Liu Bei smirked and flipped his finger at Shi Hui. Then, he turned to Xiaomao, “What about him? Why isn’t he included? I believed I told my father to include him in the bail.”
“He’s not part of the bail.”
“…”
The police brought Liu Bei’s group out first. A few minutes later, the same guy came for Xiaomao.
The police opened the cell door for him, “You, too. Get out.”
Xiaomao snorted and walked out of the jail. The officer released the handcuffs and guided Xiaomao to the front office. He made him sit in front of another middle-aged police officer, who had been working on something on his computer on his desk.
The police officer only glanced at Xiaomao. He sighed and turned his PC’s monitor toward him, showing the footage on the live stream of Xiaomao.
Although nobody watched the live stream of Xiaomao’s page, the proof of Xiaomao’s self-defense was there.
“Boy. What did you hit them with? A steel knuckle? A rock? A brick?”
Xiaomao grinned, “My bare hands, officer.”
“Do you have a martial arts background?”
“No.”
“Do you lift? I mean, do you work out?”
“Sometimes.”
“Have you ever trained in boxing or taken a self-defense class?”
“I only watched them on Youtube.”
“Open your palms and let me see your hands and knuckles.”
“…”
Xiaomao opened his palms and let the police inspect them.
As Xiaomao was a hard worker, his hands had light and thin layers of calluses. It was hard in some places, but it was mostly soft.
The officer frowned, “Normally, this fragile hand would have swelled or turned blue if it hits hard bones. What did you use to hit another guy?”
“Just my fist.”
“Are you sure?”
“Yes.”
“Look, you little shit. I’ve seen many brawlers. Human hands always suffered some sort of injury every time we hit someone’s jaw, forehead, and hard skull with them. They swell, they redden, they turn blue, or they can be broken easily. That’s why boxers and martial artists wear gloves to protect their hands. But you, Miao Xiaomao. How come your hands are still normal?”
“… I don’t know. Maybe I have 50 VIT points, and I have higher HP than average humans?”
The police shook his head and sighed, “Kids these days… Always game jargons. Haiz. Okay, here are the issues,” the officer looked troubled.
“Yes?” Xiaomao smiled.
“The guy in the clip has to cut off his testicles. His balls were crushed.”
“…”
Xiaomao’s smile became stiff.
“The second guy got a concussion. His jaw was broken and dislocated, and he lost 12 teeth. He hasn’t woken up yet.”
“…”
Xiaomao sweated profusely.
“Even if I can rule it as self-defense as the evidence showed, that was still excessive violence. It’s enough to send you to a juvenile camp.”
“It was an accident! Err, that was an emergency since they had weapons, munya.”
Xiaomao sweated waterfall.
50 STR and 25 ATK power might be too much for them to handle. It was fortunate that they didn’t die.
“I know,” The officer grabbed the PC mouse and tabbed something on the keyboard. He stopped the voice recording app and turned off the hidden mic.
“The mayor phoned me and wanted me to release everybody from your school. You’re lucky to have that guy’s son as a friend.”
“…”
“I’ll discharge you just for this once since you have no criminal record and you have proof of innocence. Don’t forget to pick up your phone from the front counter’s officer.”
“Thanks, officer, munya.”
“Don’t end your sentence with weird words. I might send you to a mental hospital.”
“Okay, munya!”
“GET LOST!”
…
In front of the police station, a black Mercedes sedan with tinted windows had been parking as if the driver had been waiting for someone.
A passenger’s window was lowered, showing the face of Liu Bei.
“Get on, bro. Let my papa’s men drive you home.”
