Cast as the Foil, She Went Viral on a Military Reality Show
Chapter 136: I’m OK
This girl’s acting all mysterious today, anyone else would think Renee Morgan’s about to make an offering to the heavens…
The Chinese viewers grumbled to themselves, glanced at the live broadcast—looked like elimination was coming?
Sure enough, it’s time for the big sacrifice.
Renee Morgan was the kind of kid you’d never have to worry about. But that stubborn streak in her only shows up in tough times.
Knock her down, she gets right back up—never says die. That’s her in a nutshell.
When Jay Monroe asked, “Are you okay?”
Renee’s fingertips primed on her sniper rifle trigger, lips parted just a bit, calmly spit out three words: “I’m ok.”
Jay’s nerves were taut, but hearing her cool, steady voice—that stubborn don’t-quit fire—it lit up his fighting spirit in a flash.
He shoved the comms back at his waist, grabbed the sniper rifle hanging from his neck. Those sharp cool eyes blazing with a soul-piercing gleam.
Bama, Boland, the four of them with Jay Monroe, tagging behind the Red squad and running hard, gasping like dogs. Meanwhile Jay looked like nothing’s wrong at all.
Not only that, he had this aura about him now—like when they’d just walked out of the barbershop with a fresh cut, super confident, king vibes. Everything within a three-meter radius got hit with his “too handsome” energy, and his eyes sparkled, dazzling the whole crew…
Jay Monroe shot the dumbfounded four a glance: “Guys, grab your guns—today, we’re getting our Morgan out no matter what.”
“Oh…” Bama and Boland mumbled along, zoning out, not sure what they were thinking.
Jay frowned, watching them pick up their guns all dazed, lining up behind him, just quietly tagging along without a word.
Forgive fools, do one good deed daily—that’s his temporary motto.
Louis scouted the valley from the mountain’s base. There’s a cliff behind the peak, and Renee plus the rest of Team Blue are hiding on the mid-slope. According to reliable intel, only about fifteen or twenty people up there…
Wasn’t there supposed to be a hundred-man unit?
Where’d the rest go?
Louis worried he’d walked right into a trap, so he looked around, face tense. It’s wild terrain—jungle cover, river noise, wind shrieks. He checks behind, thinks everyone’s lurking in the shadows, but sees no one.
Louis pulled his gaze back, looked at the slope, stubbornness flashing in his eyes. No matter what, today he’s gotta blow up Renee Morgan—only then does Team Red stand a chance.
“Split squads up, attack in five ways, encircle up from the base, absolutely…” Louis didn’t finish before a gunshot went off—”Bang!”—right behind him. ℴ
The Red team members jumped, spun around with guns ready, peering into the jungle at their backs.
Jay Monroe knew even with their five-man squad—even if they went all in—it’d never be enough to rescue Renee Morgan.
Dane and Team Blue’s main force already crossed into Red’s Territory, moving to counter-encircle. All they could do now was buy time.
The five smeared mud on their faces, split left and right. Bama darted left, Boland right, Hart darted over, Vance after him. Jay sometimes followed. Five guys, faking it like a big company, making Team Red think they’re about to get flanked from behind…
Louis originally planned to attack the slope in five squads. Now he hastily diverted two to deal with the rear, while the other three advanced up the hill.
No matter what, they’ve got to get Renee Morgan’s head for the points today.
Renee Morgan watched the dark mass of men at the base, stepping up in crossed formation, slow and low. Her sniper rifle scanned the crowd, already thinking about her next move.
Isaac Bell, Desmond Ulrich, and the others—their mindset was ready for elimination.
But seeing so many Red team at the base suddenly—they felt their hearts sink cold for real.
“Morgan, what’s the plan?” Isaac Bell steadied himself, grabbed the comms, called out to Renee Morgan.
“We’ve got seventeen. Spread out, don’t cluster. Just hit what you can.” Renee answered, and as she spoke, her scope locked onto one Red guy—three death stripes on his helmet exposed right in her sights.
Gun loaded, just needs a light squeeze.
“Bang”
“Team Blue sniper—Renee Morgan scores one. Total: 91 points.”
Isaac Bell and Desmond Ulrich saw the chance, opened fire, headshot after headshot.
“Team Blue assault—Isaac Bell scores one. Total: 4 points.”
“Team Blue assault—Desmond Ulrich scores one. Total: 8 points.”
“Team Blue assault—Merck scores one. Total: 3 points.”
“Team Blue assault—Briede scores one. Total: 2 points.”
“Team Blue assault—Desmond Ulrich scores one. Total: 9 points.”
“Team Blue assault—Isaac Bell scores one. Total: 5 points.”
“Team Blue assault—Desmond Ulrich scores one. Total: 10 points.”
“…”
“…”
Earpieces flooded with Team Blue’s headshot scores.
After her opening shot, Renee Morgan didn’t fire again—just watched the Red team storm up from the base, relentless and reckless. She tracked them through her scope, held her trigger.
Louis surveyed the jungle at the base, keeping tabs behind and up the slope.
No clue how Blue’s rear squad kept vanishing—they chased, but Blue retreated rabbit-fast.
On the slope, it looked like Team Blue was racking up headshots, but really it was because they were ambushing from a prime spot. If you count numbers though, Red’s got them beat—overwhelming advantage.
After losing ten-plus heads, Team Red reached nearly the mid-slope. One more push and they’d drag everyone out from the ambush spot, clear them one by one…
“Bang”
“Bang”
“Bang…”
A string of gunshots—Louis frowned, combing the crowd, trying to locate the source.
But as his gaze swept past, more Red team helmets started smoking, one after another.
One, two, three…
Earpieces echoed the flat score reporting.
“Team Blue sniper—Renee Morgan scores one. Total: 92 points.”
Louis’ face twisted, instantly ugly, and sure enough, a whole streak of reporting followed—all the same name.
“…”
“…”
“…”
“Team Blue sniper—Renee Morgan scores one. Total: 100 points.”
Fuck!
Louis punched a tree. Their squad’s 500 strong, and she alone racked up a fifth of their kills.
After Team Red’s main force surged up the slope and into the gully, Isaac Bell and the crew followed Morgan’s instructions, fighting spread out. Several were surrounded and eliminated in quick succession.
Renee Morgan holds the highest spot. They haven’t reached her yet—but it’s only a matter of time.
Isaac Bell, Desmond Ulrich, and others got close to Renee, anxiously whispering: “Morgan, we’ll cover your retreat.”
