Cast as the Foil, She Went Viral on a Military Reality Show
Chapter 134: Hand of God
Chapter 134: Chapter 134: Hand of God
The 5 squads, sixteen members in total, split up and lay in ambush on both sides of the hillside. Renee Morgan, the sniper, took the highest perch halfway up the slope, all by herself.
The Red Team from border defense chased up to this point, already aware of their numbers, roughly a dozen people, and felt very confident about it.
Louis led the main force right to the border checkpoint, asking for their exact combat position. After relaying the details, he let go of his earpiece, eyes sharp, a confident fire blazing underneath—dead set on victory.
More than twenty people moved forward in staggered steps, crouching and advancing slowly, inching up the hillside, just about ready to unleash hell when—
Suddenly, a gunshot erupted. "Bang!" One of their team members, right in the middle, his forehead burst open like a melon, smoke curling up.
Red Team members jolted to high alert, glancing at each other in panic.
That cold, mechanical voice crackled in their headsets.
"Team Blue sniper, Renee Morgan scores one point. Total score: 85 points."
All the Red Team widened their eyes, pupils shrinking in a flash.
How could it be Renee Morgan?
Wasn’t she already on Red Team territory? How the hell was she outside the border defense?
Did she stay inside all along, just waiting and watching?
The livestream chat exploded—seeing Renee Morgan finally shoot the first shot at the border, the screen flooded with excitement.
[She’s here, she’s here, the woman that makes Red Team tremble has arrived.]
[No joke, Renee Morgan’s marksmanship is unmatched in the entire league. Even Red Team’s Hugh is a notch below.]
[Hell yes! Our Renee’s specialty is sniping while prone, that waist has been honed since childhood. Seriously, you need her waist for this accuracy, or, if you’ve got this accuracy, you don’t have her waist.]
[Renee Morgan’s agency hit the lottery with her. Most rookie actors need years, maybe a decade, for a shot at fame. Renee did one variety show and skyrocketed globally.]
[Agree +1. There’s a lot behind Renee’s viral hit—she’s a martial arts prodigy, perfect for this kind of competition. Gotta hand it to her manager for spotting talent and making that signing.]
Viewers overseas, hearing the gunfire and that mechanical scoring, all smiled knowingly—almost conspiratorially.
[Guys, today is God Renee. Please update your address book.]
[Monroe says: God Renee, please lead us to victory. I believe she absolutely can.]
[I don’t believe in Jesus, I believe in God Renee.]
[I believe in Jesus, AND I believe in God Renee.]
[Before every gaming session, I pray to God Renee.]
[...]
Chinese viewers kept coming into the livestream, then backing out, then in again, then out—over and over—just to check they hadn’t joined the wrong channel.
This endless stream of "God Renee", they nearly thought they entered a prayer group...
Louis had just arrived with his squad at the border checkpoint, only to realize the hot action was happening elsewhere. He got the address and was about to rush over when he heard the mechanical voice announce the score.
His brain buzzed—one strong pulse, and for a split second he forgot how to think.
"Team Blue sniper, Renee Morgan scores one point. Total score: 85 points."
Renee Morgan?
How on earth is Renee Morgan here?
How did she manage to get ahead of them, reaching the border defense faster than their squad?
Louis kept recalling the names of people supposed to intercept them—he only heard Jay Monroe and a few other Blue Team assaulters, but Renee Morgan and Dane weren’t listed.
That earlier ambush of the border patrol—no headshots claimed by Renee either. Still, he had a gut feeling Renee had always been with this squad, never on the same route with Monroe’s group, never part of the intercept plan.
Renee Morgan and Dane intercepted at the border first and linked up with Blue Team’s main force?
Louis just felt something off, but couldn’t put his finger on what exactly.
"Everyone, move it! Stay close!" Louis didn’t even have time to wipe his sweat, urging everyone behind him to hurry, rushing toward the hillside position marked by border defense.
Meanwhile, Isaac Bell answered the team leader’s group call. Since Renee wasn’t able to speak, Jay Monroe and Dane’s feeds were patched to him.
The hillside near the border road was pretty easy to find, Isaac described the spot, and everyone immediately knew the place.
After hanging up with the big shots, Isaac quietly exhaled, relieved.
Even though they’re all players, Dane—just one look and you know he’s not ordinary. He had this "Don’t fuck with me, fuck with me and I’ll kill you" vibe all over him. When they met this morning, no one in the squad dared talk to him.
Isaac had only just hung up when Renee Morgan fired her first shot at the border defense.
After switching off the big shots’ mics, Isaac’s other channel still linked up to all five squads. The moment the gunfire sounded, every member got hyped up like they’d been injected with pure adrenaline.
Renee Morgan has a legendary reputation as a sharpshooter on Red Team, and just the same on Blue Team.
Everyone was itching to see her sniping in action.
This time, they finally got their wish.
Staying behind for this do-or-die fight was worth it—win or lose, no regrets.
Though it was only one headshot, just Renee’s presence was enough to crush Red Team’s newly surged confidence straight down to rock bottom.
Her shot echoed across the valley, stopping Red Team’s staggered crawl. They hesitated, trying to retreat—but realized they were already halfway up the mountain, nothing behind to cover them, and the idea of withdrawing stung too much.
This standoff lasted barely a few dozen seconds, then the second shot rang out, then the third, the fourth, fifth...
"Bang, bang..."
"Team Blue sniper, Renee Morgan scores one point. Total score: 86 points."
"..."
"..."
"Team Blue sniper, Renee Morgan scores one point. Total score: 89 points."
The Red Team got rattled silly—their guys got shot standing, got shot retreating, even got tagged crawling on the ground.
This ain’t a sharpshooter, it’s the Hand of God itself. If God wants you, you can’t outrun it.
"Pull back, pull back, let’s retreat and wait for reinforcements!" The remaining members frantically waved, signaling everyone to get out.
No way Isaac and his crew would just stand by and let them slip away. Sixteen people grabbed rifles and SMGs, rushed down after them, firing as they chased.
The earpieces erupted with scattered score reports.
"Team Blue assaulter, Isaac Bell scores one point. Total score: 2 points."
"Team Blue assaulter, Desmond Ulrich scores one point. Total score: 5 points."
"Team Blue assaulter, Merck scores one point."
"Team Blue assaulter, Briede scores one point."
"Team Blue assaulter, Desmond Ulrich scores one point. Total score: 6 points."
"Team Blue assaulter, Isaac Bell scores one point. Total score: 3 points."
"Team Blue assaulter, Desmond Ulrich scores one point. Total score: 7 points."
Out of the sixteen, Desmond Ulrich was the most ferocious. In just a minute or two, he snagged three headshots.
On the third headshot, he raised his rifle, about to line up another target—when a Red Team member aimed right at his forehead.ℯ
