Chapter 130: Chapter 130: God Nash, Please Lead Us to Victory

Hugh knew that things had come to this point, and even though he was unwilling, he couldn’t change the outcome. He stood up and left the rooftop.

Louis watched his cold, lonely silhouette and sighed. Clearly, on the sea, they’d fought their way through one obstacle after another, and were about to break through Team Blue’s checkpoint, but somehow a wrong move had landed them in such a passive situation today.

Renee Morgan was woken up while it was still pitch-black outside.

The seven of them washed up, ate half a compressed biscuit, drank a few sips of water, reviewed their plan again, then split into two groups.

Dane and Renee Morgan went together, while Jay Monroe, Bama and the other five formed the second group.

At the fork in the road in front of the mud houses, Jay Monroe, Bama and their five carried out the plan to intercept Team Red’s reinforcements, while Renee and Dane each had their own tasks.

Just before splitting up, Jay Monroe and Dane bumped fists, then walked up to Renee Morgan and opened their arms, giving her a hug one by one.

"God Renee!" Jay Monroe suddenly called this name, just like in countless pro matches, patting Renee’s back, his eyes squinting with a smile: "Please make sure to win for us."

"Hey, Jay, let go of Morgan. You haven’t showered for days, you’re stinking up the place—don’t fumigate our Morgan," Bama stepped up, dragged him away with a disgusted face, then turned and flashed a big grin: "Morgan, shall we do the ceremonial kiss?"

Renee: "..."

Dane and Renee Morgan moved in darkness across Team Red’s minefield. Last time they stepped on two mines, this time it was five. Dane collected all of them, fastening them to the hidden clasps on his belt, just in case.

When the two of them found Team Blue’s main force camped on the mountain, dawn was already breaking.

The Team Blue lead saw Renee Morgan and Dane and was a little excited.

Mostly because of Renee Morgan. The girl looked very young, and at first, they weren’t thrilled about putting a woman in the sniper position on Team Blue. But unexpectedly, she achieved such great results; now she’s the top scorer overall.

"Renee Morgan, hello, hello, I’m Team Blue’s assault trooper..."

"Renee, hi, I’m Team Blue’s..."

"Renee, Renee, me too..."

The Team Blue members all rushed to shake hands with Renee Morgan.

Dane was left out, but he wasn’t angry. He crossed his arms and quietly watched them.

After introductions, the lead drove them to the side, then took Renee Morgan and Dane to the temporary camp area.

This time, they’d come well prepared and brought plenty of tents.

The lead took Renee Morgan and Dane into the tent and called over two squad captains to hear Dane and Renee’s plan.

Dane spoke concisely yet in detail: "The main force follows me through the minefield on the rear mountain, crosses Team Red’s territory line. A small squad stays with Renee Morgan to attack Team Red’s border guards and buy us time. Once we’re across, we’ll circle back to help Renee Morgan and the squad get out."

The lead and the other two team captains were stunned, wondering if they’d heard wrong.

"Wait... Team Red’s border has thirty or forty people, plus reinforcements—expected to be over a hundred. Leaving a small squad can’t win that fight!" Team Blue lead thought whoever stayed would be in too much danger.

Dane’s throat was dry. Seeing how strong their reaction was, he suddenly couldn’t explain.

Renee Morgan saw Dane’s obvious irritation and quickly stepped in: "Team Red’s border has thirty to forty left behind, plus over a hundred reinforcements. If we go head-to-head, even if we win by luck, after breaking through, both sides will be wrecked."

The others looked at each other, gradually calming down.

"Even if we break through their border, we’ll only have a battered remnant left. All the effort Team Blue spent getting here—what’s the use? How would we attack the Team Red Tower?" Renee Morgan said sincerely and seriously.

The lead looked at the gentle-spoken girl, eyes filled with concern: "If we get through safely, what about you and those who stay behind?"

So many of them couldn’t fight Team Red’s main force and get away whole, let alone just Renee Morgan and a small squad.

Renee Morgan’s steady gaze: "The main force’s goal is to cross the line and then surround from behind. That’s not what we and the stay-behind squad need to do. We just need to use this diversion to confuse them."

She sounded relaxed, but the others knew how dangerous it was—a dozen vs. over a hundred, could they really survive?

Seeing their hesitation, Renee Morgan said, "Since it’s a battlefield, there will be sacrifices. Our goal is ultimate victory. I know none of you want to leave us behind, but you’ve got something more important to do."

Their objective was to capture the Team Red Tower. If they failed here, all their efforts would be for nothing.

The lead and the two squad captains heard this and looked at Renee Morgan with admiration. Even though it’s just a game, with her skills, if she survived to the end—even if Team Blue lost, they could still win the base district’s highest award. But for the glory of the team...

"Alright, however you say it needs to be done, we’ll do it." The lead looked at the other two captains and spoke first.

Renee Morgan saw him yield, smiled, then quickly put away her smile before speaking seriously: "I’ll need fifteen people from the team to stay with me. They can volunteer—no one is to be forced."

"I—I want to stay with Renee," said a young guy by the lead, barely hesitating, instantly choosing.

"Me too! I’m captain of squad 5—we have exactly fifteen people. I’ll check if they’re willing," said the other squad captain, raising his hand, then quickly opening the tent and running out.

He came back fast and said sniper squad 5—all fifteen—were willing to stay.

The young guy beside Team Blue’s lead looked at Renee Morgan awkwardly—squad 5 had fifteen, so he couldn’t stay?

Renee Morgan noticed his look and suddenly spoke: "You come with us too. Sixteen it is. Let’s gather everyone."

"Oh, got it!" He jumped up, dashed out of the tent, and his voice still carried from far away: "All of squad 5, come over here. We’re following Renee!"

"You’re from squad 4, what are you yelling for?" someone joked.

"What squad 4? I’m temporary squad 5 now! Go on, don’t mess up our cohesion and unity."

"..."

Renee Morgan laughed and looked away, toward the lead and Dane. Seeing Dane still silent, she turned to the lead: "There are two ways to cross Team Red’s territory. One is by the Team Red border road, the other goes along the mountainside—that way has a ton of mines. If you don’t want to alert Team Red’s patrols, you’ll have to follow Dane’s arrangements..."
