"Boundless Celestial Ocean Domain: Ocean World!"
Ironically, although Aqualas and Seraphina had ultimately failed in their original goal of using the Pseudo-Celestial Rule Domain Technique to create a true Celestial Rule Domain, the countless hours they spent experimenting were far from wasted.
Throughout the process of studying, dissecting, and attempting to recreate the principles behind Celestial Rule Domains, Aqualas gained a far deeper understanding of celestial force and how it interacted with rule power.
Unlike ordinary beings, Aqualas could already wield celestial force because she was an extension of the Card World itself. However, while she could borrow celestial force, she lacked the understanding to perfectly integrate it with her own rule power and forge a genuine Celestial Rule Domain.
That changed when she learned the Pseudo-Celestial Rule Domain Technique.
When ordinary card apprentices used the technique, they borrowed celestial force from the Card World to imitate a Celestial Rule Domain. However, when Aqualas employed the same method, the result was entirely different.
Because she was an extension of the Card World, the celestial force she borrowed was, in essence, her own. Rather than creating a pseudo domain, she directly formed a true Celestial Rule Domain.
After successfully manifesting one, Aqualas quickly realized that many of the technique’s steps existed solely to help card apprentices stabilize and control borrowed celestial force to create a pseudo Celestial Rule Domain. Those steps were unnecessary for her.
By removing them and refining the process, she created a far more efficient and powerful method tailored specifically to herself. While the Pseudo-Celestial Rule Domain Technique had failed to produce a genuine Celestial Rule Domain as intended, it had taught her the principles necessary to create one on her own.
With time and practice, Aqualas perfected the method and eventually forged her signature Celestial Rule Domain:
The Boundless Celestial Ocean Domain.
It was a true Celestial Rule Domain in the purest sense, containing enough celestial force to contend against the Double Celestial Domain trapping her right now.
That was why her Ocean World continued expanding outward, steadily at a pace fast enough to overwhelm the endlessly stretching space of the Double Celestial Domain.
’I’m doing it. Yes... that’s it.’
Aqualas could feel the Ocean World steadily expanding outward, faster than the endlessly stretching space and claiming more territory with every passing moment.
’Soon I’ll swallow this entire Double Celestial Domain and remind those two exactly why I’m considered one of the strongest Supreme Beings in existence.’
Deep within the womb of Ocean World, where endless waters and celestial force intertwined, Aqualas’s will quietly observed Petra and the young card apprentice standing beyond the expanding ocean.
The confidence she had lost upon first encountering the Double Celestial Domain was rapidly returning. After all, she had solved it. Unlike what Petra and Wyatt seemed to assume, Aqualas had no intention of simply crushing everything inside the domain and forcing her way out.
That was crude and inefficient. And most importantly, it would be unsatisfying. No, her plan was much better. She intended to swallow the entire domain into Ocean World, along with Petra, the boy, his domain, everything. Once trapped inside Ocean World, they would be completely at her mercy. And then she could take her time.
Aqualas smiled to herself.
The thought of Petra’s face after realizing she had spent all that effort protecting a city only to end up imprisoned was deeply satisfying.
As for the boy...
Well, Seraphina had talked about him so much that Aqualas had developed expectations. Far too many expectations. She could already imagine finding Seraphina afterward and proudly announcing: ’You kept telling me he was dangerous. You kept saying he was on another level. Look at him now. He’s completely helpless against me.’
The image alone nearly made her laugh.
Of course, she was careful not to let that arrogance cloud her judgment entirely. The boy had still managed to create something extraordinary. A domain capable of trapping even Supreme Beings, even if only temporarily, was no small feat. Still, from Aqualas’s perspective, the outcome was already decided.
She had found the answer to the puzzle. Now all that remained was waiting for Ocean World to finish swallowing the board.
However, something completely unexpected happened. Something Aqualas had never considered.
As Ocean World continued expanding, its ever-growing mass and celestial force eventually pushed beyond the stress of what the endlessly stretching space could safely contain. Then the impossible happened.
CRACK!
The distorted space of the Double Celestial Domain suddenly fractured under the pressure. A vast tear opened across reality itself. Beyond it was not another layer of space, not another dimension, not even darkness, but the Void. An endless expanse of nothingness between worlds.
The moment the rift appeared, Aqualas noticed something alarming. Petra and the boy had already left. They had escaped the inwardly collapsing domain almost immediately. Then the crack expanded and expanded and continued to expand.
The shattered remains of the Double Celestial Domain were rapidly consumed as the growing rift devoured everything within its reach. Space folded inward, celestial force unraveled, and fragments of the domain disappeared into the hungry emptiness beyond.
Only then did Aqualas realize something was horribly wrong. Ocean World had become too large, too heavy, and too committed to its own expansion.
The very force that allowed her to overwhelm the domain now worked against her. The immense mass of Ocean World could not change direction quickly enough. Meanwhile, the Void’s suction grew stronger with every passing second.
Aqualas struggled desperately, the entire Ocean World trembled. But it wasn’t enough. She was still being dragged toward the widening rift. And for the first time since arriving in Sky Blossom City, genuine panic appeared on her face.
"No. No, no, no..."
The smug confidence from moments earlier completely vanished.
"Fuck no!"
Her voice echoed through the collapsing domain.
"I don’t want to get lost there again!"
This wasn’t the first time Aqualas had been thrown into the Void. She remembered it, every agonizing moment of it, the endless wandering, the complete isolation, the unbearable silence, the centuries that felt like millennia, and the millennia that felt like eternity.
There was no ocean, no sky, no enemies, no friends. There was nothing there, but herself. The last time she had been trapped there, she wandered so long that she went mad from boredom and loneliness before the Card World’s celestial force eventually found and dragged her back.
To her, compared to that experience, death seemed merciful.
The Ocean Supreme, who moments earlier was planning to imprison everyone else, now looked utterly terrified. As the Void continued pulling her in, her gaze desperately searched for the one person still nearby.
"Petra!"
The pride in her voice shattered completely.
"I’m sorry!"
For perhaps the first time in countless millennia, Aqualas genuinely sounded afraid.
"Please help me."
The enormous Ocean World continued sliding toward the rift. Aqualas’s eyes widened with growing desperation.
"Veerott!"
"Seraphina!"
"I don’t want to get lost in the Void again."
