Chapter 2570: I Just Know!
Date: Unspecified
Time: Unspecified
Location: Myriad Realms, Lil’ Red Storm, Ceed World, Mystic Dimension
Inside the Mystic Dimension, a woman seated in a lotus pose abruptly opened her eyes. They were steady and determined, yet behind that resolve trembled a sharp, chilling sense of foreboding—an instinct that she was about to lose something precious. The fear only hardened her resolve.
Her figure flickered and vanished, reappearing before the massive seal that guarded the dimension’s only exit. She stood silently before it, fixing her gaze on the immovable barrier. Then, gathering every ounce of strength into her fist, she struck.
A brittle, web-like crack spread across the seal from the point of impact, creeping outward until the entire structure collapsed—only to reveal another seal beneath it.
She didn’t flinch. Though unsurprised, a flicker of frustration and urgency flashed through her eyes. She had to get out of her asap no matter the cost.
Drawing her power together once more, she drove her fist into the new seal. This time, it didn’t budge—not even a tremor. Even so, she kept hammering at it, blow after blow, refusing to relent. Her knuckles split open, blood smearing across the cold surface, but she continued to strike with unyielding force.
"I thought you were giving up," a faint, almost withered voice echoed from afar—distant yet perfectly clear, carrying a note of curiosity at the woman’s sudden burst of urgency.
"I thought you were going to keep pretending to be deaf and dumb," she shot back, irritation threading through her tone as she continued to strike the seal without pause. No matter how hard she struck, the seal didn’t so much as tremble. She couldn’t scratch it, couldn’t even leave the faintest dent. Her breath grew ragged, but her bloody fist kept rising and falling, each blow more desperate than the last.
"Let me out!" she roared, finally abandoning the futile attempt to break the seal through sheer force. Her fists lowered, blood dripping between her fingers. Then she addressed the voice from earlier, trying to reason with it. "I think something’s wrong... with him. You entered the Mystic Dimension for his sake, didn’t you? He needs us now. Do you really no longer care for him?"
When no response came even after a long silence, the woman exhaled and shook her head in disappointment. Yet her resolve only hardened. She will get out of her and be there for her beloved or die trying. She lifted her bloodied fists again, ready to strike the seal once more. Just then, the voice from earlier finally replied, "And how do you know he’s in trouble?"
"I just know," the woman answered without hesitation. She paused for a moment, then added, "I can’t explain it, but you have to trust me."
"You just know? Since when did you become a diviner?" the voice mocked, its tone dripping with sarcasm.
"I’m not a diviner, but something is wrong! I feel like I’ll lose him If I don’t find him now!" she yelled, her voice breaking into a mix of panic and desperation. "Let me out of here, please."
When her plea was met with silence, her expression twisted, and she resorted to threats. "Let me out right now, or if something happens to him, I swear I’ll kill you—even if it kills me."
"Hahaha... good luck with that," the voice sneered, utterly unconcerned. "But until then, if you want to leave the Mystic Dimension, you already know where the exit is."
Then it fell silent.
"You bitch! How can you be so heartless? After everything he’s done for you?" the woman shouted into the vast emptiness of the Mystic Dimension, her rage echoing back at her. The voice’s cold indifference only stoked her fury. "You’re just as ungrateful and calculating as your mother. I guess the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree."
"Shut up! I am nothing like her! And what did he ever do for me?" the voice shot back instantly, finally showing some emotion in it. The woman’s words had struck a raw nerve.
"How dare you?" the woman snapped, disbelief twisting her features. "Did you forget he made a deal with a devil to save your ass when you got stomped by that semi-demigod? He was ready to sell his soul for you!"
Her voice shook with fury at the voice’s ingratitude. If she had been capable of it, she would have taught that ungrateful brat a lesson herself.
"Yes, he did. And I am grateful to him. Not just me—the entire Southern Region is," the voice replied, its tone returning to a cool, controlled neutrality. "If he were truly in danger, there are plenty who would rush to his aid, even at the risk of their lives."
She paused, then continued with pointed suspicion. "And I would go myself... but how am I supposed to know you’re not lying to skip training, just so you can run off to see him? If you want to be by his side so badly, you’re free to leave. Nobody is stopping you."
"Why do you assume I’m lying?" the woman shot back, stung by the accusation. She couldn’t understand what she had done to earn such distrust.
"Why? Do you really need to ask?" the voice replied, its tone cooling once more. "When it comes to him, I can never trust you."
There was no intention of explaining further—nor of continuing the argument. The voice had already decided there was nothing to gain from dragging this conversation on.
"If you know that," the woman said urgently, "then you should also understand how much he means to me. I would never make light of him being in danger. You have to trust me—just this once, please."
She poured every bit of her fear and sincerity into those words, hoping that the voice would understand: she couldn’t lie when it came to him.
"..."
For a moment, the voice wavered. A part of her almost believed the woman’s plea. But then she reminded herself that the entire Southern Region was out there, ready to protect him. With that thought, she hardened her resolve, pushed aside the flicker of doubt, and chose not to respond.
Ignoring the woman’s pleas and threats alike, she refocused on her training.
Left with silence once more, the woman gritted her teeth and returned to pounding the seal, her bloodied fists rising and falling in relentless determination.
