Chapter 888 - 321: Tang Xia Encounters Major Trouble
Chapter 888: Chapter 321: Tang Xia Encounters Major Trouble
Approximately half an hour later, Yang Chen safely piloted the helicopter and landed on the roof of the van.
Fang Yingqi and the injured man’s girlfriend, who were cleaning water stains and mud from the carriage, ran up.
Once Yang Chen got off the helicopter, Fang Yingqi quickly stepped forward and asked, "How did it go, everything okay?"
Yang Chen: "Yeah, he’s been handed over to the ambulance. He’s conscious, nothing serious."
The injured man’s girlfriend hurriedly stepped forward to bow in gratitude.
Yang Chen said, "You shouldn’t stay here; go quickly and ask the police for help to take you to the hospital. For surgeries or anything, family presence is a must."
The girl nodded, quickly put down the cleaning cloth, and ran off.
Yang Chen and Fang Yingqi teamed up to cover the helicopter and quickly went down to clean up.
After more than two hours, the road finally cleared.
Seeing the long queue behind, Yang Chen didn’t want to delay everyone, so he quickly started the car and left.
...
Ten days later, Yang Chen and the Eastern Selection team finally arrived at the Potala Palace.
In some people’s hearts, this place is sacred.
So, many devout people were there, bowing step by step.
Yang Chen found the place quite spectacular, but he felt he wasn’t at the spiritual level to understand the step-by-step bowing practice.
After visiting the Potala Palace, the trip across Sichuan and Tibet could be considered complete.
The livestream from Eastern Selection was very successful, and Yu added a few more cities to visit on the way back for additional sales.
Moreover, the Star Research Base was officially operational, and Yang Chen needed to return soon to hand over the Quantum Chip Technology to Huang Guangxiu’s team.
So Yang Chen did not continue with the Eastern Selection team and returned early via National Highway 317.
After more than a month of adventure, Yang Chen and Fang Yingqi finally returned to Hai City.
Yang Chen parked the RV in Fang Yingqi’s parking spot, then drove his Bugatti Veyron back home.
Yu Shishi and Maya, hearing the sound of the car, quickly ran out to welcome him.
"Sir, you’re finally back. If you had stayed away any longer, I would have starved to death," Yu Shishi pouted.
Maya nodded and added, "I felt uncomfortable as well."
Yang Chen: "Why’s that? How come you’re starving?"
Yu Shishi: "Without you at home, nothing tastes good to me."
Maya: "I also felt something missing, didn’t even have the energy for work."
Yang Chen laughed heartily and parked the car in the garage.
As soon as he turned off the engine, the system issued a reminder.
"Congratulations to the owner on completing the special transport mission. Current special mission progress 10/10, with the overall task complete. The reward is Gate of Space-Time. However, the owner needs to find a safe and private place to open the Gate of Space-Time to ensure its secrecy and safety."
No wonder the last special transport mission was so hard to encounter; it turned out Yang Chen had to fulfill his previous promise to Fang Yingqi of experiencing the Sichuan-Tibet route together.
Such a mysterious thing shouldn’t just be opened anywhere.
Yang Chen got out of the car, took the travel bag from the passenger seat filled with clothes that needed washing, and handed it to Yu Shishi.
Maya pulled Yang Chen into the living room to sit down and said, "Brother Chen, you have to help me. My mom texted me, saying my brother has brought people to Dragon Country to find me. If they find me, you must find a way to keep me here. I can’t go back with them; otherwise, the rest of my life would be meaningless."
Yang Chen: "I’ll do my best."
Maya: "Mm-hmm."
Yang Chen: "Have you eaten?"
Maya: "No! Knowing you were coming back, Shishi and I have been waiting for you."
Yang Chen: "Alright, I’ll take a shower, change clothes, and then we’ll eat."
...
Having not driven for a ride-sharing service for over a month, Yang Chen went out early in the morning to drive.
Yang Chen: "Welcome to Bibi Ride. Are you the passenger with the ending number 9387?"
Passenger: "Yes! Young man, hurry up, I’m in a rush."
Yang Chen: "Okay, I’ll hurry."
Shortly after they set off, the passenger received a call.
Passenger: "Hello, I’m on my way... Ah, those foreigners are really shameless. They use the ’Epic of Homer’ as history but refuse to acknowledge the existence of our Xia Dynasty. I’m almost there, you deal with them for now. Okay, bye."
Listening to the man’s conversation, he seemed like a historian.
Yang Chen smiled and asked, "Sir, what were you saying about someone not acknowledging the existence of the Xia Dynasty? Are you referring to the Xia Dynasty founded by Dayu, who controlled the floods, as mentioned in history books?"
The old gentleman nodded and said, "Yes! That Xia Dynasty."
Yang Chen: "Isn’t it a dynasty from history books? Why do you say some people don’t acknowledge it?"
Old Gentleman: "The existence of the Xia Dynasty is inferred from historical writings of later periods, but so far, no exact artifacts or sites from the Xia period have been found. We’ve found oracle bones from the Shang Dynasty, but no records of the Xia Dynasty. So foreigners don’t recognize the existence of the Xia Dynasty and think it was a fabricated story by the people of the Zhou Dynasty to legitimize their rule. We’re currently working hard to find evidence of the Xia Dynasty and prove the authenticity of this part of history to the world. It’s not that they don’t acknowledge it that bothers me, but their double standards infuriate me; they treat ’Epic of Homer’ as historical text, searching for evidence as per the novel, yet they don’t recognize our legends. It’s really damn hypocritical."
Yang Chen: "What? A dynasty covered in history classes doesn’t have artifacts or sites to confirm its existence?"
The old gentleman sighed, saying, "The earliest written record of the Xia Dynasty’s existence is in ’The Book of Documents’ compiled by Confucius, over a thousand years after the Xia Dynasty supposedly existed. So we don’t have enough strong evidence to prove its authenticity."
