Can you mend my broken heart?

"What did he do? Akira I am asking you, what did he do?" His voice sounded all restless and agitated.

Even though Mike was Akira's younger brother, he was the only family that Akira had. So he was her father, mother and her brother as well. He was two years younger than her but was way mature than the boys of his age. Due to hardships that they had faced at such a young age, they were more sensible, sensitive and reciprocating to people and feelings. So when he heard her cry, his insides turned, because that much was his love for his sister.

He had always disliked Anthony.

Right from the start, he knew that this guy wasn't trustworthy. He had warned Akira so many times, but Akira was too blinded in love to even listen to him.

"He didn't do anything to me, Mike. I just don't feel like discussing it right now", said Akira and sighed.

Akira was so exhausted with so much happening around her, that she didn't have the will to go through it again. She didn't want to recollect the specifics of the incident for it was nerve wrenching on her part.

"Fine, where are you right now? What time will your flight land? Send me the details. I will come and pick you up. that's the least I can do", Mike said and picked up a paper and pen to jot the details.

He was really worried about Akira. He knew that his sister was just showing a brave face to him, but deep down he knew that she was crumbling from inside.

"Eat something OK. Please, will you? For my sake? Please take care of yourself Aki".

Mike was literally sweltering with anger. If he could have, he would have punched that moron in his face right now. But now all that he could do was to calm his sister down because that's what was the demand of the time right now.

"I will, I promise. It's almost time for me to board. I have mailed you my flight details. Will keep the call now Mike. Love Love", said Akira and disconnected the call.

After her call with Mike, Akira felt a bit OK. At least she had someone upon whom she could lean on. She grabbed her bag and came out of the washroom. She was too tired, jet-lagged and broken. All she wanted was to board the flight and sort her thoughts out.

She went to the information panel and started re-checking her boarding gate number. It was gate number 19. She kept staring at the screen and suddenly she felt a pang of pain deep inside. Today was 19th April, Anthony's birthday. And suddenly she couldn't move. She was still staring at the screen like she was dazed or something, unable to believe that the universe was mocking at her from every possible way.

She got startled with the buzzing sound of her phone. It was a call from Mike.

"Did you reach your boarding gate?", Mike asked.

"Yeah, I am just about to. Will call you once I land OK? Love Love." Akira said and returned from her thoughts. She started towards her gate.

As the boarding hadn't started she decided to take a seat near the Gate. She started reading the new texts sent by Anthony.

"Listen, this is not the way you should behave OK? It's a small thing."

"I just kissed her, that's it. We didn't do anything else. I swear on you. And it was just a Birthday Kiss."

"Just tell me where you are?"

"Pick up the phone damn it"

Akira didn't cry this time. Rather she started typing a text message for Anthony.

"Hi, Anthony. It's totally fine. I am totally fine. I came here to surprise you for your birthday. But now I feel it was unnecessary for I could clearly sense that my presence was extremely detested. Anyway it's mandatory that I give you a gift, after all, you are the birthday boy. Since I was in too much rush to leave your place I couldn't give the gift that I had prepared. But now I have another gift for you."

After finally getting a text from Akira, Anthony frantically started typing.

"I don't need any gift babe. Just come back to me."

But the reply from Akira came as a shock to him.

"Let's break up. I am setting you free. That's my gift for you."

Before Anthony could reply anything he was blocked from everywhere. Whatsapp, Contacts and even Facebook.

Then Akira opened his contact details on her phone and after looking at his contact number and contemplating for a few seconds she pressed DELETE.
