Chapter 93: Chapter 92: Next

In the year MM-10, a nine year old AJ Zero who was wearing a baggy grey shirt, jeans shorts and white sneakers stood and stared at a dark skinned adult human woman with long yellow hair wearing a blue tee, black leggings and black shoes.

The woman walked in handcuffs as she was being escorted by two male human police officers.

Suddenly, she halted.

"So this is how we are repaid? After everything we’ve done for you?" The woman asked AJ without sparing him a glance, "Heh. Enjoy your new home. I wonder how long it will take before they send you away... Uselesschild."

At the moment she said those words, AJ’s eyes widened for a moment before he brought his head down in sadness.

The police man on the right slightly shoved her forward and spoke.

"Keep walking, ’ma’am’."

"What? I’m just saying what he needs to hear." The woman said in a bitter yet joyful manner as she continued walking, "After all, he is a waste of his father’s sperm. A waste of nine months of being carried in the womb.

Zero quality... Zero usefulness. Heh... An ’AJZero’."

"Ma’am, I’d advise you to keep your mouth shut. This will be used against you in the court." The officer on the left said to the woman.

As the woman was walking away, a masculine hand in a black glove, gently rested itself on AJ’s right shoulder.

Currently in the year MM-20, AJ who was currently in the medical center of EBW, laying in the medical bed and under the white sheet, softly groaned in pain as he slowly regained consciousness.

His vision blurred for a moment while his breathing was steady. As soon as he fully regained consciousness, AJ’s eyes scanned his environment and took notice of items in there including the IV drip.

"You’re finally awake." A feminine voice sounded.

AJ turned to the direction of the voice and saw the person to be Sol Quinn who was sitting on a chair, still dressed in her wrestling gear while both arms were crossed.

Sol turned her sight towards AJ and spoke.

"Welcome back, kid."

AJ softly groaned again as he touched the side of his head.

"What happened...? The match..."

"You don’t remember?" Sol asked.

"I... I won... I beat you...?" AJ asked in shock and confusion.

"Yeah, you did." Sol replied.

"You were moving like a hyperactive zombie back there." Sol continued as she turned her face away, "Taking too many damage yet moving like the world is ten seconds away from ending."

"But zombies aren’t -"

Before AJ could finish his sentence, Sol glanced at him and gave him a void stare, bringing AJ to seal his lips and quickly turn his face away.

Silence hung in the environment for a while before Sol turned her face away and sighed.

"Congratulations on your win. Didn’t think you’d beat me but you did.

Now you have a record of 2-3."

"Hmph. Can’t believe I lost, but an L is an L." Sol continued as she titled her head up, "Still... I really needed that win. That win would have given me the relevance I needed, and with that relevance, a higher pay.

It’s my fault, though. Instead of focusing on getting the pin, I could have just gotten the three points and left. ℯℯ𝑙.

Oh well, I guess I have to find other options now."

"This-this is still confusing to me." AJ said to Sol as he was facing his sheets, "How did I win? I don’t remember much. My mind is still hazy.

All I remember was us trading blows and... That was it."

"Hmm. Too much adrenaline." Sol said, "You let it override you just like you let it in your match against Magoi."

"Here is a little advice, kid: That may have worked twice now but if you don’t keep a clear head and stay in control, it’s gonna be used against you soon in one of your matches." Sol continued as she was picking her fingernails, "As many said, you had a full mental collapse into survival mode when you faced Magoi in the unsanctioned match; after losing both arms, the only thing you had left to use against the loan shark was your head... Literally... Straight to the solar plexus.

Now it’s like you had another one and ended up doing it again."

"Just saying, keep doing that and you’ll become unpredictablypredictable." Sol said as she shrugged, "You got talent, but what you really need to improve on is experience, impulsiveness and mindset.

Get those three done and you’ll become a monster in the company."

Sol’s eyes rolled towards AJ and took notice of him still facing downward and clenching his sheets.

Sol’s eyes narrowed at his silence , and AJ after staying silent for a time, opened up to speak.

"I-I have no interest in being the best in this company... Or a ’monster’. I just... I just want to be able to help them.

I... What am I saying? It’s not like I’m capable enough of doing that. I want to improve but I can’t be the top guy."

"I don’t want to neither am I good enough for that." AJ continued while Sol’s left brow arched, "I only want to fend for my stepsisters and support my parents in the coma. That’s all I’m here for."

There was quietness in the room for a time until Sol finally spoke.

"What a crop of shit."

"I’m not good enough for that? I don’t want to? If you’re not interested then why are you fighting to keep your momentum?" Sol asked as she faced forward, "You should have just let me beat you then.

I get it... You don’t like being here, well neither do we.

You think we all like what we do? How we go for each other’s genitals? The smell and taste... In front of people? You know damn well we don’t. You know damn well why majority of us are here, and if you think your problem... Your issues are something that would make everyone here feel anything for you, it’s just as I said to you way earlier backstage..."

"No one cares." Sol continued speaking with a slight scowl as she turned her gaze towards AJ, "No one cares about your pain or reason because we all have our own.

You got a sad backstory ? That’s rough, buddy. You came here for your family? Good, take a seat.

You reason isn’t special at all, kid. I came here so my family wouldn’t starve. Working as an ero-wrestler every Wednesdays. When I started, this place made me sick to the belly but overtime I got used to it and I ’had’ to otherwise I wouldn’t have gone anywhere with that mentality."

"The ass-whoopings I received from my opponents, the coochie destruction I have taken from others, the eros that I had to perform and has been performed on me... I knew what I signed up for." Sol said as AJ slowly closed his eyes, So if you still think anyone is gonna give a damn about what you have and are going through then you’re more thickheaded than I thought.

In this company... In this world... Someone got to lose for someone else to eat."

"Stop feeling sorry for yourself and get your head out of your ass." Sol continued as she tilted her head, "You got a bullseye on your head and with this win of yours over me, that bullseye has only gotten bigger.

If you still think you are incapable and you don’t want to be at the top, then lay over on your back and let someone pin you. Tap out to your opponent or better still, let them humiliate you and get all fucking points. That way your momentum will die, your career will take a hit and you can focus on staying at the bottom.

Many of us don’t like it here but we understand that we got to be the best if we want that money."

"Hmph." Sol coldly said as she turned her face away, "Say you don’t want to be the best, don’t believe you are capable yet your actions contradicts your words and you fight like one who wants to win. Hypocrisy? Pick a side. It’s either you’re willing or you’re not

Keep thinking like that and you’re not gonna last here."

After Sol had finished speaking, she sighed and lowered her head.

"Damnit. I just came here to congratulate you and give some advice, now I’m getting worked up."

Sol glanced at AJ and took notice of his hands trembling on the sheets before she turned her face away.

"Look, kid... This... What am I saying is this attitude of yours isn’t helping you and it’s not going to." Sol said, "It seems right now your major issue is your mindset and it has to be changed if you want to survive.

There are worse people than me. People far stronger and scarier and if they sense any form of weakness like what you are showing now, they’ll break you and calling what they’ll do ugly will be an understatement."

"Your reason for joining... It may not be special but what you do with it will make it special." Sol continued as she turned to AJ, "But that can’t happen with the way you are now. Not with that mind. Not with that level."

"Each time I step into that ring, I know what I is coming to my body..." Sol said as she resumed facing forward.

"Especially with this spot." Sol said as she nudged at her groin and slowly rubbed it, "Each time I step into that ring, I know this spot is either going to get struck, licked, sucked or go through a damn FIF. And even in those matches, I still got to grind this area on their body just to have a chance at winning.

Even though I entered to make sure my family doesn’t starve, my half sister Reina, decided to join but works on the commentary team of Thursdays.

We both entered for family and we put in the effort because we know what’s at stake here."

Sol’s eyes rolled towards AJ and saw him remaining in the same behavior of staring down and holding his sheets. After staring at AJ for a time, Sol sighed and stood on her feet.

"I just wanted to say congratulations." Sol said.

Sol walked towards the door and halted.

"Just so you know, kid, I could re-challenge you for a match, but I understand that I had my chance and I blew it, so I’ll let others try." Sol said,"However, know this: if we meet again as rivals in the ring, I won’t make the same mistake twice."

Sol opened the door and left, leaving AJ alone whose fists were now trembling as the pace of his breathing slowly increased.

While Sol was walking down the hall, she took notice of several unconscious bodies of both male and female ero-wrestlers on the ground, leaving her to tilt her head to the right side in confusion.

Sol then heard a weak cough, turned to the direction of the sound and saw a fiar skinned male beastfolk with an injury across his face.

Sol rushed towards him and squatted to check up on him.

However, at the moment she squatted, the beastfolk gripped her by the shoulder and weakly coughed out again.

"She’s... She’s back..." The beastfolk said.

"Who?" Sol asked as she narrowed her eyes.

The beastfolk pointed at a certain direction and as Sol shifted her sight to that area, she saw a red messy writing on the wall that said "Nextinline".

The lights flickered several times along eith the sounds of crows cawing .

During the repeat, a feminine shadow figure stood close to the wall and slowly glanced at Sol, revealing the white gleaming eyes and grin that illuminated in the dark.

As soon as the lights stabilized, the figure had disappeared.

Sol stared at the writing on the wall and the face of AJ replayed in her head which led her lips to slightly part to the left.

"Fuck."
