Chapter 127: Chapter 126: Blame

The fight between Caesar and Owen went viral across the internet.

Different headlines in a hot span of minutes poured into several sites and were filled with comments.

"What the fuck?"

"I have never seen one person put belt to ass against a crew and make it look as horrifying as that nutjob did"

"Caesar when fighting an ero-wrestler that doesn’t throw like Damien or Cassius"

"Looks like Cedric’s crazy son is back... Which is odd because Cedric is also crazy"

"Bro moved like he came out of a horror movie"

"Caesar Mid"

"Come join me and decay!!!"

"Real talk though... Is that skinny guy’s dih still okay?"

"I love seeing that nepo get humbled"

"Bro was definitely created in a lab because ain’t no way he took a taser like it was nothing"

"Bro lost his dih in the fight"

"That guy said Cedric trained her. Are we missing something here? Is that another reason why Cedric attacked Nero aside from their beef with each other?"

"Owen will forever not creep me out"

"Cedric trained Caesar? Interesting"

"The prodigal son is back"

"What in the world was that hellspawn?"

Meanwhile within the holds of Cassius Gold’s house, Cassius sat on his couch, sipping from his cup while staring at his screen of his phone.

"Hmm. Interesting." Cassius said.

Suddenly, his phone rang and a contact profile appeared on his screen showing "Maogana"

Cassius answered the call and placed the phone on his ear.

"Hello?" Cassius said with an arched brow while smiling.

"You just saw the video, right?" Maogana asked over the phone.

"If it is the one of Owen destroying Caesar, then yes, I did." Cassius answered, "Though, I must say, I’m surprised it took this long for Owen to act, considering how he behaves."

Cassius took a sip from his cup again and spoke.

"So it is true. Cedric did train the nepo.

That is something I never imagined I’d learn."

"I wasn’t too sure, myself. Even when I offered to help him if he agrees to rejoin, it was just a speculation.... A strong suspicion because of some similar moveset she showed against Nero Rogue, but turns out it was absolutely true." Maogana replied.

"Hmph." Cassius said with a smirk.

"I have a feeling you’re still not pleased with Owen returning back to our group." Maogana said.

"Of course, I’m not." Cassius replied.

"Cassius, what happened was years ago. If our faction is to make its return... To remind everyone that ’Supremacy -Is- Necessary ’, we need to bury the hatchet." Maogana said, "Owen may be unstable, but-"

"Owen is a different breed of unstable." Cassius cuts in, "We already have unstable people like Deigo Saborr, Morgan Qrow and so on, but Owen in particular makes me so uncomfortable when I’m around him.

He is too unpredictable and makes very little sense.

Someone like him cannot be trusted and has shown on several ’occasions’ why he can’t."

Cassius took another sip from his cup.

"I swear, I don’t know where that maniac came from." Cassius said, "There are humans, there are beastfolks and there is Owen Grey."

"Now that’s just kind of racist." Maogana said.

"To be fair, I can be at times emotionally insensitive." Cassius replied while smiling, "I have no problems with beastfolks. After all, I’m comfortably talking to you, ’Saintess of the underworld ’.

I’m not that psychotic human supremacist Nero Rogue... but Owen on the other hand is one person I firmly believe needs proper evaluation on where he’s from."

"Cassius..." Maogana called as he was taking another sip from his cup, "I managed to bring back Apokalipse."

Hearing those words, Cassius subconsciously spat out his drink and stayed silent for a while.

His face turned pale for a time while irises glowed in shock.

The hand he used in holding his cup slightly shook.

An image of a house burning, filled with the screams of people in it flashed in Cassius’s head.

In front of the burning building stood a horned shadow figure with both arms spread apart.

"Cassius?" Maogana called.

Cassius still stayed mute, not answering her call.

"Cassius? Are you still there?" Maogana asked

After staying silent for a while, Cassius took a deep breath to coordinate himself.

"You don’t say..." Cassius said.

"I did say I was bringing back every member of our faction, and that includes him." Maogana said.

"I guess it’s a few more left, right?" Cassius asked.

"Yes. I still have to talk to Magoi and the others, but in the meantime, we will still be watching the usurper to see if she is truly worthy of joining our faction." Maogana answered.

"I see." Cassius said as he leaned back against his couch.

"There is another person who is being speculated that could be of use to us." Maogana said.

"And who is that?" Cassius asked.

"He’s currently one of the most over talents in EBW especially in the Wednesday roster... AJ Zero." Maogana answered.

"The overrated rookie?" Cassius asked.

"Say what you want but right now, it is being debated that AJ might have a lot of use to our faction." Maogana said, "All he just needs is a push, and some guidance.

But his match against Morgan will determine if he is worthy to be a part of us... Just like Caesar."

"His match with Morgan... I’m going to be real, considering how Morgan behaves... She might end up killing that kid." Cassius said with a smile, "I don’t think she is the right one to ’push’ him and give ’guidance’.

Didn’t I mention earlier she is crazy?"

Maogana, however, didn’t respond, leaving silence to sit in the air.

After a while of quietness hanging in the atmosphere, Cassius placed his cup on the table and sighed.

"Okay. I’ll be waiting to hear what the others have to say concerning that boy." Cassius said, "In the meantime, I will be preparing for my match with Bei."

"Alright." Maogana said.

After Maogana had cut the call, Cassius dropped his phone and chuckled.

"AJ Zero... What an odd pick." Cassius whispered to himself, "But let’s look at you, Owen.

Owen, Owen , Owen. Still hanging on to your daddy’s obsession, even when you say you don’t need him.

How funny."

Elsewhere, Caesar who was laying unconscious in a white bed, slowly opened her eyes as she was regaining consciousness.

Soft groans of pain escaped her throat and as she finally opened her eyes, she took notice of her environment and equipment there, leading her to quickly recognise that she’s in the hospital.

Caesar’s face turned blank after the recognition and she turned her gaze back on the ceiling.

"Of course." Caesar whispered to herself.

While staring at the ceiling, the face of Owen flashed in her mind; his psychotic grin and laughter combined with a menacing presence. And while she remembered all of this, his voice replayed mentally.

"Oh really? Not even the man who trained you personally?

My father, Cedric Grey?

Another person chosen over his own kid.

Did he just happen to train you for free just like he trained her?"

After remembering his words, Caesar slightly scowled and spoke in her heart.

"Cedric is his father, huh. Well, I can obviously see some similarities, they’re both crazy... The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree in that one, but what does he mean by ’Just like he trained her’?

The only one I know that Cedric talked about regarding it being a she was Miyoshi.

Was he talking about her? Cedric admitted he took pity on Miyoshi and trained her personally because she was still pushing through solely to provide for her five siblings despite her shortcomings in the development centre."

"And somehow, I’m now his target all because Cedric trained me personally." Caesar continued in her mind as her face turned blank again, "Which is odd because the only reason I was able to meet Cedric in the first place was because Balland was a friend to him.

Funny. The only reason why Cedric even trained me was because my boss introduced him to me and I gave an honest answer, yet somehow, that whacko is beefing with me for that."

"Still, there was something about him that reminded me of someone." Caesar said within as she furrowed her brows, "His insanity, his laughter, it felt like I was standing next to someone familiar..."

Caesar’s eyes widened as though she had been hit by a lightning bolt.

"..."

Suddenly, the face of Nero Rogue surfaced mentally.

His long and messy black hair. His fair skin. His long jet black colored irises and psychotic grin.

"Hello, furback." Nero said.

After the recollection, Caesar took noticed of her hands trembling, leading her to snap her eyes shut.

She took a steady breath to ease herself and exhaled.

"Damnit."

The door of her hospital room creaked open, causing Caesar to turn to the direction of the sound and saw a fair skinned human doctor with a bald cap, carrying a clipboard, stepping in.

"Good evening, Miss Moon." The doctor said.

"Good evening." Caesar replied.

"How are you feeling?" The doctor asked.

"I feel like shit." Caesar answered.

The doctor let out a small smile and lightly chuckled.

"Well, sorry you feel like that." The doctor said, "Anyway, I have got some good news, some strange news and some... Bad news. Which would you like to start with first?"

Caesar stayed silent for some seconds and replied.

"Let’s start with the good one first."

"Okay." The doctor said as he tapped his pen on his clipboard, "So the good news is you are completely fine and will even be cleared to continue your activities tomorrow like nothing ever happened."

Hearing that, Caesar became confused and tilted her head to the side.

"Huh?"

"Yes, that is the good news. Now here comes the strange news." The doctor said, "Your fight with that lunatic should have rendered you critically injured at minimum and killed you at maximum.

When you thrown from that height down to the windshield of the car, the cracked and broken glasses had pierced several areas of your back, not to mention, that lunatic still descended and drove his feet, pushing more in deeper.

That should have been it. Even if we are taking the glasses away, the height and momentum, especially combined with his final attack, should have left you in a terrible state but you weren’t.

Turns out the ferroysx effect came in handy."

"The ferroysx?" Caesar asked.

"Yes, that drug powder that you accidentally came into contact with." The doctor responded, "From your records, your body had been strengthened enough to not just withstand the fall but also stop the glasses from pushing in deeper."

"To think that that drug that had killed many would be what saved your life is ironic." The doctor continued speaking as Caesar brought her head down, "Though in your records, it says you came in contact when one of your bosses accidentally poured a small amount into your nostrils and it entered deep into your bloodstreams.

The only reason why you are still alive is because the amount was small and you are going for your monthly treatments."

"What’s the bad news?" Caesar asked while her upper face was overshadowed.

The doctor kept silent at her question. His face became grave and he took a deep breath and spoke.

"The crew you were working with... While you can get on with your days, they can’t. The ones that he attacked... Are critically injured."

Hearing the news, Caesar raised her head and her eyes widened in horror.

"The one who goes by the name Skhini... Not only was he injured critically, his private parts were so damaged by that maniac that even though, we managed to fix it with our equipment, he will never feel anything down there again." The doctor said, "He’s as good as being castrated and he’s currently in a coma."

The news left Caesar so devastated that she brought her head down again while her irises gleamed.

"No... I told them not to..."

"Miss Moon." The doctor said as he extended an arm forward.

"It’s my fault. If I had done research on who my next opponent was and prepared, this wouldn’t have happened." Caesar whispered.

"Miss Moon, it’s not-"

"They stepped forward to protect and I ended up getting them hurt... Just like I did to them before." Caesar whispered to herself again.

The faces of Rai and Eyo flashed in her head, leading the beastfolk to clench her teeth.

"Why...?! Why does this keep happening...?!"

"Miss Moon, it was not your fault." The doctor said, "What happened was the fault of that maniac. You were simply doing your day to day work and he chose to attack you.

Even when the others asked him to leave, he refused.

This would have happened either way."

"Not if I had prepared. Not if I had known about him and learnt what he can and could do." Caesar replied, "That way, the news of what I’m hearing now could have been less devastating."

The doctor stayed quiet at Caesar’s words and turned his face away.

After silence had stayed in the room for a while, he turned his head back at her and tried to speak.

"I’m sorry, doctor... Can you leave me alone again for a moment?" Caesar asked before the doctor could say anything.

The doctor stayed quiet again and after a few seconds, he nodded his head in agreement and walked away.

As soon as he had left and the door creaked shut, Caesar clenched her fists and gritted her teeth in anger at herself.

"Damnit. So stupid."
