Chapter 201

Since Sylph wasn’t too far from the monster, she shot forward at supersonic speed, with her sudden movement leaving cracks spreading across the earth beneath her feet.

In the blink of an eye, she appeared beside the Bone Demon General and snapped her leg upward.

BOOM! Her kick slammed directly into the center of the creature’s chest with enough force to send its enormous body flying backward.

The five-meter-tall monster was launched through the air like a cannonball. It crashed straight right through one building one after the other, before slicing straight clean through a particularly large building and splitting it apart as the fearsome creature continued flying.

The sight left Phil momentarily stunned. He turned to look at Sylph who had landed smoothly before she turned toward him. Then Phil gave her a small sheepish smile and said.

"Thanks, Sylph."

Sylph merely nodded.

"Don’t mention it."

Before either of them could say anything else, a furious roar suddenly erupted from the distance, causing both the ground and nearby buildings to tremble.

Their expressions changed. The buildings that had just been destroyed, trembled violently the most as something moved through the ruins.

Then the Vile Bone Demon General emerged like a general of carnage. It wasn’t slowing down in the least bit.

The damned creature charged toward them at an insane speed, smashing straight through several buildings as though they were nothing more than cardboard obstacles in its path. With chunks of concrete and metal flying around its enormous body.

Phil stared at the approaching monster and couldn’t help cussing.

"Resilient son of a bitch."

The golden sword in his hand suddenly dissolved into particles of light before the energy rapidly gathered again. This time around, it formed a massive war hammer.

Phil tightened his grip around the weapon.

"Let’s try this instead."

When the Bone Demon General arrived before them, it swung its enormous black sword horizontally with terrifying speed and bloodlust.

Sylph immediately ducked beneath the blade, her body twisting gracefully as the weapon passed over her head. She planted one hand against the ground, spun around the monster’s side, and drove a powerful punch into its ribs.

The impact sent a powerful shockwave through the battlefield, but the General barely moved. Instead, it swung one of its four arms toward Sylph.

Fortunately Sylph was like a nimble cat. She leaned backward, allowing the claws to pass inches from her face, before twisting her body and driving her knee into its abdomen.

The General grunted and staggered half a step. Phil used that momentarily lapse to attack from the opposite side. His war hammer smashed against the creature’s shoulder with tremendous force, causing the Bone Demon General to stagger sideways.

Phil immediately followed up with another swing, but this time the monster recovered and blocked the hammer with its enormous forearm.

CLANG! The collision created a deafening metallic sound. The General’s remaining arms moved simultaneously, forcing Phil to retreat.

Phil’s war hammer instantly transformed, as golden energy spread across his arm before forming a large shield.

The creature’s claws slammed into the shield. Phil was pushed back a couple of steps across the ground, with his boots carving two long trenches through the earth.

"That’s stronger than I expected," he muttered.

The General suddenly raised its sword again. And Phil’s expression changed. The moment the massive black blade came crashing downward, he quickly raised his shield in time.

BOOM!

The impact drove Phil’s knees slightly into the ground. As a massive crater spread beneath his feet. Yet the shield held. Phil gritted his teeth before pushing the monster’s sword away.

"Not bad."

His shield transformed again, and the golden energy began stretching outward, forming a long energy spear. Phil immediately thrust it toward the General’s chest.

For such a big monster, it managed to react in time by twisting its body, causing the spear to scrape across its black armor instead of piercing through it. Producing sparks in the process.

At the same moment, Sylph took advantage of the opening. She rushed forward and delivered a powerful kick against the side of the monster’s head.

BOOM! The Bone Demon General’s head snapped sideways. Yet instead of falling, it turned its four eyes toward her and swung its enormous sword with such ferocity and power that created a large gust of wind.

Sylph jumped backward just before the blade passed through the space where she had been standing. The sword struck the ground forming another deep gash into the earth.

Sylph landed several meters away. With her expression remaining completely calm even in the heat of the battle. Not once had she even activated her ability. She simply lowered her body and rushed forward again.

Her movements were incredibly precise. Every time the General attacked, she moved just enough to avoid the blow. She wasn’t wasting energy with unnecessary movements, and every counterattack of hers was aimed at a vulnerable part of the creature’s body.

It was either a punch to the ribs, or a kick to the groin. Or even a strike against its throat. Yet despite the terrifying force behind every attack, the Vile Bone Demon General continued standing like the demon incarnate it was.

At several dozen meters away, Alex stood, watching the battle unfold. His expression remained calm, but his eyes constantly followed every movement happening at insane speeds.

Phil and Sylph were fighting extremely well together.

Sylph relied entirely on her physical strength, speed, reflexes, and combat experience. She constantly slipped around the General’s attacks, striking its exposed areas whenever an opening appeared.

Phil complemented her very well.

His energy weapon changed according to the situation. One moment he wielded a war hammer capable of producing devastating impacts, and the next he transformed it into a shield to protect himself or intercept one of the General’s attacks.

The battle continued to escalate, with every collision between them produced shockwaves that shattered nearby windows and sent debris flying.

The ground beneath their feet was being destroyed piece by piece and several buildings in the vicinity were now piles of rubbles. With various large craters scattered across the battlefield

Hundreds of meters away, Alex could see the other members of the Bureau fighting the remaining Bone Demons in the distance, but his attention remained fixed on the three Ascendant-level combatants.

The Vile Bone Demon General suddenly roared. With its muscles bulging as it swung all four of its arms simultaneously in rage.

Sylph’s eyes narrowed. She immediately jumped backward, dodging two claws that passed beneath her feet and simultaneously twisted her body midair as another swept toward her head. narrowly avoiding it.

The General’s sword followed. Sylph landed on the flat surface of the blade for less than a second before pushing off and launching herself toward its shoulder.

Her fist struck, causing the giant to stagger. Phil immediately appeared on the opposite side, with his spear instantaneously transforming into a massive war hammer once again.

"Catch this!"

He swung with all his strength.

BOOM!!!

The hammer smashed straight into the General’s ribs. And the shockwave generated from the force spread throughout the entire battlefield in a one km radius.

The attack had shattered the side of the tough armor where it landed, causing the fearsome general to roar toward the heavens with a cry so great the entire ground trembled and everyone was left momentarily dazed. Including Alex himself.

Alex felt his ears ringing before shaking his head and recovering. He looked at the now crazed vile demon bone general, who was attacking like crazy.

Now there was definitely something strangely familiar about the creature. He had seen something similar before but in a small scale. His mind immediately returned back to the System’s training realm.

Back then, he had fought a monster that looked almost identical to this thing. It had been weaker and considerably smaller, but its appearance had been nearly the same.

At that time, Alex hadn’t yet possessed any supernatural ability. After all, he was still in D Rank and hadn’t yet had infinite Skill absorption.

So he only relied on his physical prowess and had been forced to figure out how to kill the creature through trial and error.

Then he remembered the weakness. Alex’s eyes narrowed. The forehead! More specifically, the spot between its first two demonic eyes.

That was the only place he had managed to damage seriously enough to kill the creature in the training realm with a sharp rock of course.

His gaze immediately shifted toward the Bone Demon General’s face. Could it really be the same weakness? There was only one way to find out.

Alex didn’t immediately attack. Instead, he watched. What he needed now was the perfect opening.

The General was currently focused on Phil, who continued blocking its crazed attacks with his energy shield.

The monster suddenly swung its sword toward Phil’s head. Luckily, Phil raised his shield in time to block the heavy blow.

BOOM! But the impact forced him several meters backward. Still, Phil dug his boots deep into the ground to stop himself from going any further.

The General shot forward and then when close, raised another arm to strike him.

Sylph immediately moved. She slipped around the monster’s side at supersonic speed, avoiding two of its claws before appearing behind it.

The Bone Demon General tried to turn. But Phil immediately attacked again, forcing its attention back toward him.

Sylph was already behind the creature. She first lowered her body before pushing off the ground with tremendous force. And slammed her leg into the back of the General’s knee.

BOOM!! The monster’s massive leg buckled, and its enormous body was forced to go down. One knee crashed into the ground with enough force to create another massive crater.

Phil immediately raised his war hammer and swung toward the creature’s face, forcing the General to instinctively raise two of its arms to protect itself.

At that moment the opportunity Alex had been looking for presented itself. Its forehead was exposed. Alex’s eyes flashed. This was it...
