Building The First Adventurer Guild In Another World
Chapter 471: Battle Of Greyfen [ 2 ]
Mina stepped forward.
Golden mana erupted around her body.
It didn’t merely coat her skin. It rose around her like flame, streaming from her shoulders and shield while brilliant currents wrapped around her arms and legs.
The ground beneath her boots fractured from the pressure alone. Mina raised her shield as one of the crystalline apes came crashing toward her, the thirty-foot monster swinging an arm thick enough to crush a carriage.
"Knight Skill: Golden Fortress!"
Golden mana condensed across Mina’s shield.
BANG!
Fist met shield. The shockwave flattened everything within twenty feet.
The crystalline ape’s arm stopped.
Mina didn’t move a single step. The beast stared down at the tiny human beneath it, and Mina’s eyes narrowed before she twisted her waist. "Knight Skill: Mountain-Breaking Reversal!"
She redirected the monster’s own momentum, drove her shield beneath its arm and hurled the enormous 4th Order Elite Beast over her shoulder.
BOOM!
Its body smashed through two other creatures and carved a trench across the battlefield.
Lucan stared for half a heartbeat before recovering. "I’m never arm-wrestling that child."
"Left!" Rowan shouted.
Lucan reacted instantly.
A scorpion-like beast appeared beside him, its translucent tail descending faster than an ordinary human could perceive. Lucan’s mana surged along his sword as he pivoted beneath it.
"Sword Skill: Auremont Falling Star!"
His blade became a streak of golden light.
SHIIING!
The scorpion’s tail separated from its body. Before the creature could scream, Lucan stepped inside its claws and drove his sword through the softer underside of its head. Another beast lunged toward his back, but the ground beneath it suddenly erupted.
"Earth Magic: Titan’s Rising Teeth!"
Iris shouted as an enormous brown Magic Circle spanning nearly forty feet appeared beneath thecreature.
Stone spikes blasted upward.
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
The Elite Beast was thrown into the air, and Lucan didn’t waste the opening. He jumped onto one of Iris’s rising pillars, ran three steps along its side and launched himself toward the airborne monster.
"Sword Skill: Gilded Crescent Execution!"
A golden arc crossed the battlefield.
Blood followed.
Rowan wasn’t watching the kills. He was watching everything else. The winged centipede had climbed higher alongthe cliff. The crimson raptors were circling Iris because they had identified the Mage controlling the battlefield.
The horned tortoises were gathering earth mana beneath their shells, while the poisonous lizards were spreading outward to surround Mina.
Rowan’s eyes moved between them, calculating faster than any shouted explanation could convey. "Iris, flood the western trench! Mina, three steps right and break the green lizard’s jaw before it exhales! Lucan, ignore the raptors, they’re baiting you away from Iris!"
Mina moved first. The poisonous lizard opened its mouth. Golden mana exploded beneath Mina’s feet.
BOOM!
She crossed thirty feet in an instant and struck upward.
"Knight Skill: Heaven-Rending Shield Bash!"
BANG!
The creature’s lower jaw snapped shut so violently that several teeth shattered. Its head whipped backward, and the poisonous cloud it had been preparing exploded inside its own mouth. Green smoke poured through its nostrils while Mina grabbed one of its horns with her free hand.
Then she pulled it with all her strength. The twenty-ton creature lost its footing. Mina roared and swung the enormous Elite Beast sideways into another.
BOOOOOOM!
The collision tore apart the surrounding ground.
Even Rowan glanced at her.
"Focus!" Mina shouted at him, golden mana blazing around her body.
Rowan almost laughed. "I was about to tell you the same thing."
He ducked as a crimson raptor swept overhead and immediately activated his own technique. Mana gathered around his legs and blade without the overwhelming spectacle surrounding Mina.
"Hunter Skill: Ghosttrail Pursuit."
Rowan disappeared between two broken trees.
He wasn’t faster than every creature on the battlefield. He simply never moved where they expected. He stepped through blind spots , changed direction behind obstacles and used Iris’s stone formations to conceal each approach.
The winged centipede finally launched itself from the cliff toward Iris, dozens of bladed legs spreading outward.
Rowan had been waiting for it. He emerged beneath the creature.
"Hunter Skill: Predator’s Severance."
His sword struck the same segment twice. The first cut cracked the armor. The second entered the crack. The centipede crashed into the ground, but Rowan was already gone before its bodylanded.
Meanwhile, the battle above the valley had become something else entirely.
Sage brought his legs together. The Wind Magic Circles beneath his shoes completed.
BOOM!
He shot upward as the Stormcrown Basilisk’s jaws snapped shut beneath him. Sage separated his feet, rotated in the air and completed the circles again.
BANG!
He launched himself directly over the monster’s back.
A gigantic green Magic Circle spread across the entire valley.
"Nature Magic: Worldroot Emperor’s Dominion!"
The forest convulsed.
Roots larger than towers erupted from beneath Greyfen, smashing through stone and wrapping around the Basilisk’s six limbs. The Commander Beast roared as lightning exploded from its body, vaporizing several roots instantly, but Sage was already casting again. Three enormous brown Magic Circles formed around the monster.
"Earth Magic: Titan King’s Burial!"
Mountains of stone surged upward.
BOOOOOOM!
The Basilisk disappeared beneath them.
Then the mountain exploded.
Lightning ripped through the stone formation, and the Stormcrown Basilisk emerged with blood running between its scales. Its crystalline crown burned brighter as it twisted toward Sage and released dozens of branching lightning bolts.
Sage moved through them.
BOOM!
His Wind Magic Circles launched him left.
BANG!
He shot upward.
BOOM!
Another burst sent him downward at an angle, coat snapping violently behind him as lightning crossed inches above his head. Iris looked upward between spells and forgot what she was doing for a fraction of a second.
She had seen Wind Mages fly before, but Sage wasn’t truly flying. He was using gigantic Wind Magic Circles beneath his feet as magical thrusters, completing them whenever his legs aligned and breaking the formation whenever he separated them.
Each completion released enough compressed wind to launch him through the air like a projectile.
The technique looked insane.
It also worked.
