Chapter 281: Chapter 281: New Age 1

The True Void was no longer silent. The endless expanse of nothingness trembled under the weight of an approaching storm. Neo floated in the center of his newly claimed territory. He kept his golden eyes fixed on the distant shadows. The ancient entities of the High Court were finally making their move. They were furious, and they were bringing the full might of their primordial wrath to crush the upstart creator.

Before the enemy could manifest, the fabric of the dark rippled right beside Neo. Three distinct pillars of magnificent divine energy pierced the absolute blackness.

Zestia arrived first. She stepped out of a swirling vortex of crimson fire. She wore her legendary armor forged from the cores of dying suns. She gripped her heavy spear with both hands, her knuckles white with anticipation. A feral, joyous grin stretched across her face. The war goddess had been waiting for a true challenge for millions of years, and the oppressive aura of the True Void smelled exactly like the ultimate battlefield.

Noir followed immediately. She did not step through a portal. She simply coalesced from the ambient shadows. Her six midnight wings unfurled, drinking in the faint starlight that leaked from Neo’s internal cosmos. She wore her gown of woven abyss, looking perfectly at home in the terrifying emptiness of the outer ocean. She crossed her arms, her cynical smirk firmly in place as she surveyed the empty horizon.

Moon appeared last. A single silver lotus blossomed in the empty space. The enlightened queen sat upon the glowing petals in a perfect meditative posture. Her pristine white robes flowed around her without any wind to guide them. Her presence instantly calmed the chaotic vibrations of the void. She opened her silver eyes, radiating a profound serenity that stood in stark contrast to the boiling aggression of her sisters.

"You called for us, my beloved," Noir said softly, her voice carrying a seductive edge that cut through the cosmic tension. "I hope you saved some of the prey for us. I would be terribly disappointed if you devoured the entire ocean before we had a chance to play."

"There is plenty of prey remaining," Neo assured her. He pointed his mercurial sword toward the deep dark. "The rulers of this ocean are coming. They call themselves the High Court. They view our existence as a plague, and they intend to wipe our souls from the tapestry of creation."

Zestia slammed the butt of her spear into the empty air, creating a shockwave of crimson sparks. "Let them try. I want to see if these ancient cowards bleed the same color as the gods we slaughtered in our youth."

The True Void groaned. The sound was not a noise, but a physical weight that pressed heavily against their immortal bones. The High Court was finally arriving.

They did not march like a conventional army. They were the environment itself turning hostile. Five colossal constellations of blood red stars ignited in the far distance. The stars rapidly shifted and condensed, forming the outlines of five unfathomable entities. These were the Grand Arbiters of the void. They were ancient beyond the very concept of time. They possessed bodies forged from crushed galaxies and wore heavy crowns crafted from the crystallized suffering of countless conquered realms.

The central entity stepped forward. He was the Supreme Arbiter. He wielded a massive scythe capable of reaping entire pantheons with a single swing. His face was hidden beneath a cowl of absolute, consuming shadow.

"You are the anomaly," the Supreme Arbiter spoke. His voice was the sound of celestial bodies grinding into dust. "You have devoured our properties. You have broken the sacred quarantine. Your existence is a violent insult to the eternal laws of the deep dark. Submit your essence to the Court, or face absolute erasure."

Neo smiled, resting his fluid blade on his shoulder. "Your eternal laws are horribly outdated. You treat the cosmos like a stagnant farm. I am here to write a new genesis. I am here to replace you."

Zestia did not wait for the conversation to continue. She launched herself forward, transforming into a blinding crimson comet streaking through the absolute dark. She aimed her spear directly at the Arbiter on the far left, a giant composed entirely of petrified ash and stagnant wind.

"The talking is over," Zestia roared, her battle cry echoing across the void.

The god of ash raised a massive hand, attempting to summon a hurricane of suffocating dust to drown the war goddess. Zestia did not flinch. She channeled the pure intent of eternal war into the tip of her spear. The crimson aura of her weapon incinerated the petrified ash on contact. She pierced the hurricane, driving her spear violently into the chest of the colossal entity. The god of ash shrieked as the raw concept of conflict detonated inside his stagnant core, blowing his ancient body into a trillion pieces of harmless gravel.

Noir laughed, a rich and melodic sound that echoed with cynical amusement. She spread her six wings and dissolved into a massive, sprawling cloud of primordial night. She targeted the Arbiter on the far right, a creature made of blinding, hateful false light. The entity of false light fired massive beams of concentrated eradication magic, intending to burn the shadows away.

Noir simply swallowed the beams. Her darkness was not just the absence of light; it was a hungry, consuming abyss. She wrapped her massive shadowy form completely around the giant of false light. The ancient god struggled, tearing at the shadows with his glowing hands, but Noir was relentless. She tightened her grip, crushing the false light until the entity simply snuffed out like a smothered candle, his ancient essence fully absorbed into her midnight wings.

The third and fourth Arbiters, twin deities woven from the concepts of disease and eternal curses, turned their attention to Moon. They unleashed a torrent of vile, green magic that sought to rot the silver lotuses blooming beneath her.

Moon did not attack them directly. She brought her hands together in a gesture of supreme prayer. She chanted the sacred sutras of the heavenly Dao. Her body became a brilliant beacon of blinding silver light. The light washed over the vile curses, instantly purifying the green magic into sweet, fragrant rain. The silver light continued forward, striking the twin Arbiters. The ancient gods of disease could not withstand the absolute purity of the Dao. Their bodies froze, their rotting flesh rapidly transmuting into statues of flawless, clear glass. With a gentle wave of her hand, Moon shattered the glass statues into sparkling dust.

Neo flew directly toward the Supreme Arbiter.

The leader of the High Court realized his peers had been slaughtered in mere moments. Panic, a sensation he had not felt since the dawn of creation, flared within his shadowed cowl. He swung his massive scythe with desperate, apocalyptic fury. The blade carried the power to sever the bonds of reality itself, aimed directly at Neo’s neck.

Neo remembered the lessons of the backward realm he had just conquered. He did not raise his sword to block. He did not dodge. He flew directly into the path of the descending scythe.

As the blade was about to strike his flesh, Neo utilized his newly acquired mastery over inverted magic. He completely inverted his own vulnerability. He made his physical body as fragile as a soap bubble in his mind, while projecting the concept of absolute indestructibility onto the enemy weapon.

The inverted laws clashed violently with the reality of the True Void. The massive scythe struck Neo’s neck and instantly shattered into a million harmless fragments of dull stone. The absolute fragility of Neo’s body acted as the ultimate, unbreakable shield against the indestructible weapon.

The Supreme Arbiter roared in absolute confusion, staring at the broken hilt in his massive hands.

Neo did not give the ancient god time to recover. He raised his mercurial sword high above his head. He drew upon the infinite weight of the ten thousand universes anchored within his soul. He summoned the pure, unadulterated essence of Universal Synthesis.

"Your reign is officially over," Neo declared.

He swung the sword downward in a flawless, golden arc.

The golden light of Universal Synthesis struck the colossal entity, forcing the ancient god to his knees. The Supreme Arbiter shrieked as his rigid, ancient laws were violently unraveled. The golden dawn bypassed his heavy crown and struck directly at the heart of his existence. The supreme purification sorted through his ancient malice, ripping away the stagnation and isolating the pure primordial essence buried beneath eons of tyranny.

The Supreme Arbiter looked up, his shadowed cowl burning away to reveal eyes full of primordial fear.

"You cannot synthesize the entire ocean," the dying god gasped, his voice cracking and fading. "The True Void is endless. There are deeper things out there. There are older things hiding in the absolute dark."

"I welcome them," Neo whispered softly.

He pushed his divine will forward, finalizing the synthesis. The Supreme Arbiter collapsed inward upon himself, rapidly shrinking down into a single, blindingly bright seed of golden celestial energy. Neo reached out and caught the seed in his open palm. He absorbed the purified essence into his chest, feeling the massive surge of power fortify his internal cosmos.
