Chapter 267: Chapter 267: Kinetic Damage

Trillions of conceptual miles above the bleeding surface of Aethelgard, Neo sat on his throne of solidified light. The administrative panels surrounding him were a blur of golden text, scrolling faster than any mortal mind could process.

His closed loop ecosystem was performing exactly as he had designed it.

The Multiversal Overlords had attempted to crash his internal reality by dropping the Supreme Curse into his domain. Instead, they had unwittingly initiated the greatest global progression event in the history of the Omniverse.

His three million universes were feast grounds. The max level mortals were dying, adapting, and growing stronger with every localized collapse. The energy generated by their infinite struggle was flowing directly back into Neo, expanding his Dominator Core with terrifying speed.

It was a flawless victory. Yet, as Neo watched the numbers climb, a strange sensation crept into his mind.

He was bored.

Watching numbers increase on a golden screen was satisfying, but it lacked the visceral texture of combat. He was the Gamemaster. He had meticulously coded the physics engine, the magic systems, and the collision mechanics of this reality.

He had spent eons balancing the weight of a steel sword against the kinetic resistance of dragon scale. Sitting in the heavens while his creations enjoyed the ultimate raid boss felt like a wasted opportunity.

He wanted to play his own game.

Neo closed the global administrative panel with a flick of his wrist. He summoned the avatar creation matrix. He did not want to descend in his true form. If his true biological shell even brushed against the atmosphere of Aethelgard, the sheer density of his existence would vaporize the planet instantly. He needed a container.

He needed a vessel fragile enough to interact with the world without breaking it.

He began to compile the data. He selected the genetic template of a human male. He set the biological age to sixteen years. He wove pale skin, messy dark hair, and inverted black and white eyes.

For clothing, he generated a simple linen tunic, rough leather trousers, and basic traveling boots.

Finally, he materialized a rusty iron sword, the lowest tier starter weapon available in the system.

He sealed ninety nine percent of his omniversal authority behind a conceptual lock. He set his visual display level to one.

Neo took a deep breath, feeling the strange, restrictive weight of mortal lungs. He stepped forward, opening a localized spatial tear, and dropped directly into the Whispering Wastes.

The environment was a chaotic nightmare. The gray static of the Supreme Curse still lingered in the air, distorting gravity and devouring color. While Valen and his elite vanguard were fighting the main body of the anomaly, millions of smaller fragments had scattered across the desert. These fragments had mutated the local wildlife, turning them into paradox beasts.

A few dunes away from Neo’s drop point, an elite adventuring party was fighting for their absolute survival.

Kael was a level eight hundred Vanguard Tank. He was currently on one knee, his massive tower shield glowing with protective aura. But the aura was cracking. He was trying to hold back a Paradox Weaver. It was a monstrous arachnid composed entirely of gray static and inverted mathematics.

Every time the spider struck Kael’s shield, the kinetic energy did not push him backward. The anti logic forced the energy directly into his internal organs. Kael coughed up a mouthful of blood, his health bar blinking dangerously low.

"I cannot hold the aggro!" Kael roared over the deafening hum of the static. "The taunt mechanics are failing! It is reading my defense as zero!"

Behind him, Lyra was frantically weaving hand seals. She was a High Cleric of the Dawn. Her hands glowed with pure, restorative light. She targeted Kael and cast her strongest healing spell. The golden light washed over the tank, but the moment it touched the gray static radiating from the spider, the spell corrupted. The healing numbers turned negative. Kael screamed as the holy magic burned his flesh instead of mending it.

"Stop healing!" Jax shouted from the shadows. Jax was a Shadow Dancer, moving in a blur of speed.

He threw a volley of high tier poison daggers at the many eyes of the beast.

"The logic field reverses all beneficial magic! You are just hurting him more! We have to burst it down with pure physical damage!"

Jax activated his ultimate skill, launching himself into the air and bringing his twin blades down in a devastating arc. The blades struck the carapace of the Weaver. The system registered a critical hit, but the gray static simply absorbed the kinetic force. The spider did not even flinch. It turned its massive, glitching head toward Jax and opened a maw filled with swirling nothingness.

"We are out of options. Use the teleportation crystals. We wipe here."

"The spatial lock is active. We cannot teleport. It has trapped us."

They were veterans of a thousand dungeon raids. They had slain dragons and conquered abyssal lords. Now, they were going to die in the sand, erased by a creature that did not even obey the basic rules of reality.

Then, they heard the sound of footsteps crunching softly on the sand.

Kael turned his head. A young boy in a linen tunic was casually walking up the dune. The boy was holding a rusty iron sword that looked like it would break against a stiff breeze. Floating above the boy’s head was a golden system identifier.

Name: Neo. Level: One.

"Run away, kid!" Kael screamed, his voice tearing his throat. "This is a corrupted zone! The monster will delete your soul!"

Neo did not run. He simply smiled, his strange black and white eyes locking onto the massive spider. A small golden notification appeared in the center of Kael, Lyra, and Jax’s vision.

[Player Neo has requested to join your party.]

Jax was panicking, frantically swiping at his mental interface to access his emergency potions. In his frantic movements, his mind accidentally confirmed the prompt.

[Player Neo has joined the party.]

"Jax, you idiot!" Lyra shrieked. "You just dragged a level one civilian into our combat instance! The area of effect damage will vaporize him!"

The Paradox Weaver sensed the new addition to the threat table. The anti logic system always prioritized the weakest link to generate the maximum amount of despair. The colossal spider ignored Kael. It ignored Jax. It pivoted on its jagged gray legs and lunged directly at the boy in the linen tunic.

The monster moved faster than sound. It was a blur of gray static, its massive fangs opening to swallow the boy whole. Kael closed his eyes, unable to watch the slaughter.

Neo did not use a supreme skill. He did not unleash his Gamemaster authority. He simply observed the physics engine.

To Neo, the world was a grid of hit boxes, collision vectors, and mathematical probability. He saw the exact trajectory of the spider. He saw the microscopic flaws in the anti logic code where the external virus was failing to perfectly integrate with his reality.

Neo stepped forward. He moved half an inch to the right.

It was a casual, effortless shift in his posture, but it was mathematically perfect. The massive fangs of the Paradox Weaver snapped shut on empty air, missing Neo’s shoulder by a single pixel. The kinetic wind generated by the miss blew Neo’s dark hair back, but he remained completely untouched.

Before the spider could adjust its momentum, Neo swung the rusty iron sword.

He did not swing with superhuman strength. He swung with absolute systemic precision. He aimed the blunt, rusted edge of the blade at a specific coordinate on the spider’s joint. It was the exact coordinate where the creature’s hitbox intersected with the localized gravity matrix.

The rusty iron blade tapped the gray static.

For a fraction of a second, the universe held its breath. Then, the collision engine calculated the result of a perfectly optimized strike delivered by the creator of the system itself.

A sound like shattering glass echoed across the Whispering Wastes.

The Paradox Weaver froze midair. The gray static rippled violently, attempting to process the damage it had just received. The logic loop failed. The entire colossal beast detonated into a blinding explosion of golden experience orbs.

The shockwave of pure energy knocked Kael, Lyra, and Jax off their feet. The rusty iron sword in Neo’s hand instantly crumbled into fine metallic dust, completely destroyed by the impossible kinetic feedback it had just channeled.

A cascade of golden notifications flooded the vision of the three veterans.

[Experience Threshold Exceeded. Level Up.]

[Experience Threshold Exceeded. Level Up.]

[Experience Threshold Exceeded. Level Up.]

The notifications repeated fifty times in rapid succession. The sheer volume of experience generated by the elite anomaly instantly fully restored their health, mana, and stamina pools.

The desert fell dead silent, save for the gentle rustle of the silver sand.

Kael slowly lowered his shield. Lyra dropped her glowing staff. Jax sat frozen on the ground, his twin daggers slipping from his numb fingers.

They all stared at the boy in the linen tunic. The boy was casually dusting sand off his clothes.

Trembling, Jax opened his party combat log to review what had just happened.

Kael and Lyra did the same. The golden text of the log was clear, concise, and utterly terrifying.

[Combat Log]

[Paradox Weaver cast Delete Reality.]

[Player Neo Evaded.]

[Player Neo used Basic Attack.]

[Critical Hit.]

[Player Neo dealt 999,999,999,999,999 Kinetic Damage.]

[Target Eliminated.]
