"Abominations! So many of them!" Qin Lang cried out in alarm.

This type of monster had at least Elite Three-Star Potential and was Level 5 or higher.

The last time they ran into one at the mall, the three of them had seen for themselves how formidable it was.

Now, with so many appearing at once, they instantly felt the pressure.

What’s more, the Soldier Types under their command had just been through a series of tough battles and were all in a poor State.

"I have one Elite Three-Star Stone Giant. The others are just ordinary Two-Star," Xu Jiayi replied quickly.

Shen Xing gave her a somewhat surprised look and continued, "An Elite Three-Star Stone Giant should have no problem withstanding the Abominations’ attacks."

"Let’s adjust our formation. I’ll summon my Skeleton Archer squad for backline damage, you summon your Stone Giants to act as the frontline, and we’ll let the other Soldier Types catch their breath."

Xu Jiayi nodded solemnly, then unhesitatingly activated the Fog Flower on her wrist. Gray fog surged forth.

Immediately after, a dozen or so Stone Giants, looking as if they were pieced together from white boulders with short, stubby limbs and heads, emerged from the Fog.

One of the Stone Giants was even five or six meters tall, its entire body seemingly constructed from granite, with a pair of yellow eyes that glowed faintly.

Shen Xing also summoned his own forces: a total of twelve Skeleton Soldiers, led by the Elite Three-Star, Black Arrow.

"Holy crap, I knew you two were holding out!"

Qin Lang said resentfully, seeing them summon so many powerful Soldier Types. "You even raised a second Soldier Type to Elite Three-Star? Are you kidding me?"

Shen Xing and Xu Jiayi exchanged a smile.

While they were summoning their Soldier Types, the Abominations were already dragging their bloated bodies forward, rapidly closing in.

"Attack! Don’t let these monsters get near the Campfire!"

Shen Xing ordered in a low voice, immediately using his consciousness to Control the Skeleton Archers. They drew their bowstrings, forming one [Dark Arrow] after another.

Xu Jiayi also quickly directed her Stone Giants to charge forward and block the Abominations’ advance.

WHOOSH! WHOOSH WHOOSH WHOOSH!

A dozen or so Dark Arrows shot out, instantly piercing the Abominations’ highly decomposed bodies and sending sprays of fetid fluid everywhere.

This type of monster’s weak point is its head.

After one round of focused fire, one Abomination’s head was riddled with so many holes it looked like a hornet’s nest.

It tried to cast [Corpse Burst], but Xu Jiayi’s Elite Stone Giant had already lowered itself into a crouch and was charging fiercely toward it.

The instant it got close, the Stone Giant forcefully swung its thick arm.

With a muffled THUD, the Abomination on the verge of exploding was sent flying over ten meters, only detonating after it landed deep within the Fog.

"Holy shit, that move was so cool!" Qin Lang exclaimed. "Coach, I want to learn how to do an elbow strike too."

Xu Jiayi ignored him, instead continuing to direct her Stone Giant legion to close in, forming a stone defensive line that stopped the monsters in their tracks.

Shen Xing once again commanded the Skeleton Archers to fire another volley, focusing their fire on a second Abomination.

Times had changed. Before, they had to be extremely careful even when facing a single Abomination.

But now, they could handle an attack from four or five of them with ease.

Before they could even breathe a sigh of relief, the heavy thud of footsteps echoed from behind them.

They turned to see three more Abominations stepping out of the Fog, their bodies dripping with foul-smelling fluids.

Seeing this, Shen Xing’s expression darkened. ’The monsters in the Land of Mist really are a bunch of sneaky bastards,’ he thought. ’They all love sneak attacks.’

’I knew this ninth wave wouldn’t be so easy.’

"Jiayi, release your Control over the Stone Giants and let them fight on their own to conserve your Spiritual Power."

"Qin Lang, have your Half-Elves hold off the monsters in the rear while we deal with the ones in front."

Shen Xing rapidly issued one command after another while also directing Dahou to join the fight.

His two teammates responded immediately.

All the Stone Giants entered auto-attack mode, and the Half-Elves spun around to face the three Abominations.

"Blade Storm!"

Dahou, having recovered some of his strength, leaped in front of the enemies. Gripping two War Axes, he began to spin like a top at high speed, sending the Abominations’ flesh and blood flying.

The Skeleton Archer, Black Arrow, activated [Little Skeleton Rapid Fire], loosing a continuous stream of arrows.

The Three-Star Stone Giant repeatedly used [Giant Stone Elbow Strike], sending one Abomination after another flying.

Qin Lang’s Half-Elf Assassins moved through the shadows, periodically landing a fatal blow on an enemy’s rear.

BANG! BANG! BANG!

The sound of bursting flesh echoed continuously.

After three or four minutes of intense fighting, the area finally fell quiet again.

*Pant... Pant...*

Heavy panting echoed by the Campfire. The Soldier Types were gasping for breath, and the Lords were exhausted as well.

Although they had repelled this wave of attacks, it had come at a considerable cost.

At the last moment, two Abominations had used Corpse Burst at the same time.

Thankfully, their ranged units and main forces hadn’t taken much damage.

"Fuck, these monsters are so disgusting. I feel like I won’t be able to eat for days," Qin Lang said, squatting on the ground and dry-heaving for a good while.
