Chapter 240: Chapter 153: Sweeping the Camp, a Great Harvest
An hour later, the three commanders met up beside a patch of bushes.
"Hellish Roar, you’re finally here!" Blood Roar said, clutching the Communication Crystal and gazing excitedly at the Bald Beastman beside him.
"Where are the enemies?" Hellish Roar asked in a deep voice.
"To our front-left, about two kilometers away. There’s an abandoned mining pit, and those guys are hiding in there."
Blood Roar replied, "I scouted a little closer just now, but I was worried they’d spot me, so I fell back right away."
Looking in the direction he pointed, a thick Fog hung in the air, making it completely impossible to see the stronghold Blood Roar had mentioned.
"Hellish Roar, let’s make our move!"
Blood Roar glanced at the Soldier Types behind them, a bloodthirsty glint flashing in his eyes. "The three of us, plus the Soldier Types the Lord sent, are more than enough to completely flatten this camp!"
With that, he mounted his Bloody Giant Wolf, ready to lead the charge.
"Wait," Hellish Roar suddenly called out, stopping him.
"Wait for what?" Blood Roar asked, turning his head.
"The Lord said that if you know your enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles," Hellish Roar stated in a steady voice. "Even if we have confirmed the enemy’s strength, we must not be careless."
"’Know your enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles...’" Blood Roar murmured. "I see. As expected of the Lord. To think he could say something so profound."
He was no longer in a rush to attack. Instead, he asked, "So, what’s our next move?"
Hellish Roar thought for a moment before saying in a low voice, "I remember you have an ability that incites conflict, and you can activate it from a great distance, right?"
"You mean [Declaration of Strife]?" Blood Roar replied. "I can activate it from a great distance, but with this Fog, I can’t see where they are at all."
"Don’t worry, I have a way."
As he spoke, Hellish Roar took a brass-colored Monocular Telescope from his person. However, the Stone Eye at the end had already been pried off by Shen Xing.
"Oh! It’s the Lord’s Magic Telescope!" Blood Roar’s eyes lit up. "With this, I can see through the Fog and use my Skills on the enemy from several kilometers away."
He looked at the Bald Beastman beside him and remarked with admiration, "I have to admit, Hellish Roar, you really are smarter than me!"
Hellish Roar shook his head. "I simply receive the Lord’s teachings often and take his words of wisdom to heart."
"His words constantly inspire me, helping me to think calmly and maintain the resolve to never give up."
"I see..." Blood Roar nodded in realization. "Looks like I’ll have to ask the Lord for lessons more often from now on."
As he said this, he raised the telescope and pointed it toward the distant Fog.
Eye of Insight, activate!
"VMMMM..."
A halo of Magic light shimmered across the lens, piercing through the thick Fog and clearly revealing the figures in the mining pit.
Then, Blood Roar raised his right hand, a ball of dark red light gathering in his palm.
—Declaration of Strife, activate!
The red light traversed the two or three kilometers, landing silently in the center of the Skinners’ camp.
At first, they continued to feast ravenously, and nothing seemed out of the ordinary.
But just a few seconds later, one of the Skinners’ eyes suddenly turned red, and he glared viciously at a companion beside him.
"Naji, why did you get more Food than me?" he yelled, shooting to his feet and snatching the meat from the other’s hand. "You bastard! You never do any work, but you always eat the most!"
"Get lost!" This Skinner didn’t take it, swinging a backhand slap at him. "This is the Food the chief gave me! What right do you have to complain?"
"You dare hit me?! You’re asking to die!"
The Skinner lunged, and the two of them fell into a heap, tearing and biting at each other wildly.
The other Skinners watched the scene, looks of annoyance flashing in their eyes.
"You two idiots! If you want to fight, take it outside the camp! Don’t ruin everyone’s fun!" a Skinner with bull horns shouted.
"What did you say?"
The two brawling Skinners, their eyes bloodshot, turned to him in unison. "You want us to tear you to shreds!?"
"Tear you apart? Bring it on! You think I’m afraid of you?" The horned Skinner’s eyes also turned red with fury as he snatched up a nearby bone knife and charged.
The three of them became a tangled mess, tumbling and brawling across the camp.
The other Skinners, their mood ruined, also became red-eyed and joined the bloody fray.
As the brawl escalated, more and more Skinners joined in, and the situation descended into utter chaos.
With bloodshot eyes, they tangled together like wild beasts, savagely attacking everyone around them with teeth, claws, and weapons.
The entire camp instantly devolved into a chaotic melee, the sound of tearing flesh and sinew echoing without end.
A few Skinners even had their throats bitten out or their hearts pierced, dying on the spot.
In the center of the camp, a man in gray robes watched the chaotic scene, his expression instantly darkening.
"What are you all doing? Stop this at once!"
His deep roar echoed throughout the camp, carrying a special kind of Penetration Power.
In the past, the Skinners would have stopped immediately upon hearing his shout, but today, they were completely unfazed.
In fact, lost in their bloodlust, they fought even more ferociously!
Unlike typical Mind Control Skills, [Declaration of Strife] doesn’t take Effect immediately upon being cast.
Instead, it silently stokes the deep-seated resentment and dissatisfaction in every person’s heart, amplifying those feelings infinitely.
This method is far more terrifying than directly controlling the mind and body.
This is because you know exactly what you are doing, yet you are completely powerless to stop the violent rage welling up from the depths of your heart. You even begin to think it’s normal.
