Building a Perfect Territory in the Mist
Chapter 195 - 138: Breakthrough to Tier Two, Miserable Lachlan
Chapter 195: Chapter 138: Breakthrough to Tier Two, Miserable Lachlan
They used to get together at malls or restaurants.
But now that he had a new house with plenty of space and a fully-equipped kitchen, it was naturally better to cook at home.
The three of them then discussed grocery shopping and scheduling before logging off.
Shen Xing left the group chat and played the voice message from Xia Wanyin.
"Shen Xing, congratulations on taking first place again!"
Shen Xing glanced at the timestamp. The message had been sent around 1:30 AM.
After a moment’s thought, he replied with a ’thank you’ sticker.
He thought she would be asleep, but she replied almost instantly. "Hm? Shen Xing, did you just log off?"
"Yeah," Shen Xing typed back. "You’re still awake?"
"Nope. I just got out of the shower and slipped and fell," Xia Wanyin replied, her tone a little dejected.
"A fall... Is it serious?"
"Not serious, I just twisted my ankle a little," Xia Wanyin replied. "Wanna see?"
"Huh?" Shen Xing paused for a second. "See what?"
"A picture of my twisted ankle."
"Send it."
Shen Xing replied without a shred of hesitation, adding, "Let me see how serious it is."
’She’s blind; life is already hard for her.’
’I have to check it carefully. It would be bad if there were any lasting complications.’
A moment later, Xia Wanyin sent a photo.
However, it didn’t show her whole body—only a pair of fair, slender, and shapely legs resting on the bedsheets.
Her ten toes were small and delicate, and her pale skin, slender and straight, had a pearlescent sheen.
They were so stunning that they could even rival Yu Feifei’s famous long legs.
The only difference was that Yu Feifei’s legs were tan, giving off a wild aura.
Xia Wanyin’s, in contrast, were a lustrous porcelain-white, with a gentle, delicate feel.
"These legs—I mean, the wound. It’s on the back of your ankle, so it’s a little hard to see clearly," Shen Xing replied, his expression unchanged. "Try taking a few more shots from different angles."
"Oh? You can’t see it?" Xia Wanyin sounded troubled. "Okay, I’ll take a few more then."
A moment later, she sent several more photos in succession.
One by one, pictures of her fair legs appeared before his eyes, each from a different angle.
Shen Xing opened each one, inspected them carefully, then replied, "The wound is red and swollen. You should probably go to the hospital and get it checked out."
"No need. I put some Moonlight Spring Water on it, and it doesn’t hurt anymore," Xia Wanyin replied.
"Alright, just be careful then."
Shen Xing felt relieved and silently saved the photos.
"Shen Xing, the ranking event is over now, and it looks like the rain has stopped," Xia Wanyin said. "How about I come over tomorrow and help you light up the surrounding resource points?"
Shen Xing thought for a moment. He didn’t seem to have any plans for tomorrow. "Okay. I’ll wait for you in my territory. Just message me before you get here."
"Mhm!"
Xia Wanyin sent a few more stickers of a nodding mouse. She seemed to be a big fan of that particular set.
It featured a little white cartoon mouse holding a carrot.
The two exchanged a few more pleasantries before ending the conversation.
Shen Xing looked at the wheelchair by the sofa, ready to return to his room and rest.
However, he didn’t slowly shuffle over to the chair as he usually did.
Instead, he simply held out his hands, fingers slightly curled in a lifting motion.
The next second, an invisible Spiritual Hand lifted him up and placed him gently in the wheelchair.
’Breaking through to Tier Two Extraordinary is so convenient. I can use Spiritual Power to do so many things instead of my hands.’
Shen Xing glanced around, satisfied. ’As my power continues to grow, I’ll eventually be able to fly and even achieve Object Control with just a thought.’

「Meanwhile, on an artificial island overseas.」
In a spacious hall, a group of young Western men and women was seated.
However, their expressions were all grim, and the atmosphere in the hall was heavy.
"Damn it! Damn it all!!"
Lachlan’s chest heaved violently, his eyes bloodshot. It was as if he still hadn’t recovered from the final scene in the Rain God Illusion Realm.
No one else dared to make a sound, sitting silently to the side.
Lachlan took a few deep breaths and turned to someone at his side. "Contact the head of the clan. Tell them that at any cost, even if they have to hire a Master Level assassin, I want that bastard Shen Xing eliminated!"
"Immediately! Right now!"
Beside him, a woman with a voluptuous figure looked troubled. "But... even if we hire a Master Level assassin, I’m afraid they won’t be able to touch him."
"Shen Xing took first place on both leaderboards. The Celestial Star Country places immense importance on him now."
"According to our intelligence, the director of Jiang City, Zhang Yu, has returned to oversee the situation personally."
"He’s a veteran Master Level expert. Just two days ago, he defeated Master Roger of our Haiyan Country at sea."
She paused before adding, "To eliminate Shen Xing right under his nose, it would take at least three Masters working together."
"But that would be actively instigating an international conflict. We would face retaliation from the Celestial Star Country’s experts."
"The Dothan Clan isn’t powerful enough to withstand that kind of pressure."
Lachlan’s expression faltered, his eyes turning an even deeper shade of red. "If we can’t get him in the real world, then we’ll kill him in the game!"
"Put out a bounty! Twenty billion for anyone who can provide the location of his territory!"
"And fifty billion for whoever brings me his head!"
He roared, his voice thick with hysteria. It was clear he hated Shen Xing to his very core.
’That guy made me lose face in front of the entire world, all while securing his own victory.’
Lachlan had become a laughingstock in the Lord community.
Worst of all, the flames that woman had unleashed were so terrifying that they had made him scream in agony.
Someone had even clipped the audio of his scream and made it into a viral meme video, which had already surpassed a million views in a short time.
He was so furious he wanted to track the creator down through the internet and kill them.
"Pride, don’t be impulsive," the voluptuous woman said. "If we do that, the Celestial Star Country will definitely retaliate."
"Do you remember what happened twenty years ago? A Master Level expert took action and assassinated one of the Celestial Star Country’s geniuses. The result was the infamous ’Starfall Incident.’"
"The Celestial Star Country dispatched a large number of their Master Level experts to the Land of Mist and indiscriminately hunted down the most promising geniuses from every country."
"That battle nearly wiped out an entire generation of talent from every nation."
"So we absolutely cannot do the same. The consequences would be unimaginable."
Lachlan’s chest heaved. He clenched and unclenched his fists several times.
Finally, gritting his teeth, he slumped back onto the sofa.
Just then, the phone of a young man in the corner chimed.
He picked it up, glanced at the screen, then looked over. "Pride... we have a message from Asada Hitomi of the Sakura Country. She says you have three minutes to pay the full fee for the operation."
"Is that bitch giving me orders?" Lachlan whipped his head around, his gaze terrifyingly sinister. "Tell her to get lost! The mission was a failure, and she has the nerve to ask for money?!"
"That... might not be a good idea," the man hesitated. "She’s from the Razor Association. A top international assassin. I’m afraid..."
"So what?" Lachlan sneered. "You think she’s going to cross the ocean and come all the way here...?"
Before he could finish his sentence, his pupils dilated, and his face froze in shock as he stared straight ahead.
Standing in the villa’s main doorway was a petite, short-haired woman in a black bodysuit.
Her pale, almost white pupils were devoid of any emotion as she stared right at him.
...
...
「Meanwhile, inside a gloomy, ancient castle.」
A woman in a red gown leaned languidly on a throne. The dark red carpet at her feet stretched to the far end of the great hall.
"Heh... That Lachlan. He’s more of a hindrance than a help."
She tapped a finger, her voice laced with anger. "He just handed my first-place victory away on a silver platter. How infuriating!"
Of all the Lords in the competition, Dolores was likely the one who hated Lachlan the most.
If it weren’t for his little stunt, her victory would have been a sure thing.
But no, the idiot just had to pick a fight with Shen Xing, and ended up setting off that powder keg.
"Count Roman, can you kill him for me?" Dolores turned to the pale, middle-aged man beside her.
"Lady of Lust, he is a member of the Dothan Clan. They have significant international influence. A direct move would be... inadvisable."
He paused, then added, "However, we could unite with the other Lords who were affected and collectively pressure the Dothan Clan for compensation."
Hearing this, a dangerous smile crept onto Dolores’s lips. "Heh... then let’s do that. Make sure you contact plenty of others. Let’s make this a big deal."
"That Lachlan must pay the price for his foolishness."
"Yes, Lady of Lust."
Count Roman gave an elegant bow and turned to leave.
That night, led by Dolores, more than a dozen Lords and the powers backing them united to formally protest to the Dothan Clan.
Citing the incident in the Rain God Illusion Realm, each party demanded substantial compensation, threatening to create a major international media incident if their demands were not met.
When Lachlan, far away on his artificial island, heard the news, he trembled with rage.
