Chapter 183: Chapter 134: The Death of Hellish Roar, the Final Deathrattle

With the Rain God Avatar’s health dropping below 40%, the challenge officially entered its third phase.

As everyone watched in shock, a colossal giant rose from the enormous vortex in the center of the lake.

The giant was composed entirely of flowing water, standing at least a thousand meters tall.

It had no discernible facial features, but its imposing silhouette vaguely suggested a female form.

However, the giant’s body was entwined with numerous chains that stretched deep into the vortex, as if it had been sealed away.

Upon seeing the Flowing Water Giant appear, the expressions of the Lords within the Rain God Illusion Realm changed drastically.

Meanwhile, the overhead view on the livestream outside revealed an even more astonishing scene.

A thousand-meter-tall giant stood in the vortex, its upper body exposed, dominating the view.

In comparison, the Lords beside the giant looked as minuscule as ants.

"Holy crap, so this is the real Rain God Avatar? So big, so round... I’m talking about her head."

"This is so intense! We can feel the pressure even from this angle. The Lords’ legs must be turning to jelly."

"Nope, my megalophobia is flaring up. Any 5’10" ladies with a B-cup want to comfort me?"

"..."

「Meanwhile, inside the Rain God Illusion Realm.」

Shen Xing and the others tilted their heads back, gazing up in a daze at the enormous Flowing Water Giant.

Just then, a notification flashed before their eyes.

[The Rain God Avatar has released a portion of its Power. Brace yourselves...]

The next second, the enormous Flowing Water Giant raised its right hand and slammed it down onto the surface of the lake.

SPLASH—!

The giant hand struck the lake, sending a massive ripple expanding rapidly in all directions.

The ripple expanded and surged upward, transforming in the blink of an eye into a hundred-meter-tall tsunami that threatened to swallow everything!

Panic washed over the faces of every Lord in the Illusion Realm.

Acting on pure instinct, Shen Xing grabbed Reina and placed her on Zha Ji’s back. Black Arrow and Hei quickly jumped on as well.

Carrying all four of them, Zha Ji struggled to flap its wings as it rose into the air.

Zha Ji: ’I’m bearing a weight I shouldn’t have to at this age (>﹏

Hellish Roar grabbed Blood Roar by the arms, lifting both him and his mount, the Bloody Giant Wolf, into the air.

They had just reached a height of one hundred meters when the first wave crashed toward them with devastating force.

ROAR...

Suspended in mid-air, Shen Xing could only watch as the colossal wave surged past beneath him, stretching all the way to the horizon.

’Holy hell, so it’s a screen-clearing ultimate attack! No wonder it’s so terrifyingly powerful.’

Countless Lords and their Soldier Types were swallowed by the massive wave.

The surviving Lords were all pale-faced, their hearts still pounding with fear from the attack.

Before they could even collect themselves, the Flowing Water Giant made its next move.

This time, it spread its hands flat in an upward-lifting motion.

WHOOSH...

The water level began to rise rapidly, and everyone in the air suddenly felt a terrifying pressure bear down on them.

Zha Ji suddenly lurched and began to plummet like a crashing airplane. It flapped its wings frantically, trying to stay balanced, but couldn’t stop its descent.

"Quick, get to a platform! Our Flying Ability has been restricted!"

Someone’s shout rang out, and the other Lords reacted instantly, scrambling for the nearest platforms.

Shen Xing quickly found a platform to land on, making it through the Rain God’s purge shaken but unharmed.

"Hellish Roar, thanks!" Blood Roar said, standing at the edge of the platform with a lingering fear in his heart.

’When that wave hit, if Hellish Roar hadn’t grabbed me, I would’ve been knocked flying and drowned in that icy water for sure.’

"Don’t mention it," Hellish Roar replied calmly. "We come from the same territory, the same clan. It’s only natural that we help each other."

Blood Roar gave him a long, hard look before saying in a low voice, "You saved me this time, but I’m still going to challenge you. I’ll keep at it until the day I finally surpass you."

"Anytime," Hellish Roar said, his expression unchanging. Then his tone shifted. "But that’s assuming we make it out of here alive."

Listening to the two Beastmen from behind, Shen Xing looked utterly confused.

’What are these guys talking about?’

’What do they mean, "assuming we make it out of here alive"?’

’Oh, right. I think I forgot to tell them that dying in this realm isn’t permanent.’

’No wonder they’re acting so grim, like they’re prepared to fight to the death.’

"You guys..."

Just as Shen Xing was about to explain, he saw the distant Flowing Water Giant begin to move again.

CRASH!

Enormous chains made of flowing water lashed out in all directions, several of which shot straight toward them.

If the chains hit, even if they survived, the platform beneath their feet would be instantly shattered.

At that point, they would all fall into the water.

"If you want to hurt the boss, you’ll have to get through me first!"

Blood Roar bellowed, raising his Flame Greatsword and preparing to charge forward to block the chains of water.

But a black shadow was faster.

Flapping his bat-like wings, Hellish Roar shot forward like a streak of black light, skimming just above the water’s surface.

The instant before he collided with the chains, he raised his Black Water Axe and swung down with all his might!

CLANG!

With a deafening clang, a dozen or so of the water chains shuddered violently, their advance faltering for a moment.

Just as everyone thought the crisis had been averted.

They were horrified to discover that Hellish Roar’s body had been impaled by several chains, his blood dripping from them into the lake below.

"Hellish Roar!"

Blood Roar screamed, his voice filled with a grief and anguish he had never shown before.
