Building a Perfect Territory in the Mist
Chapter 175: Trading Souls, Massive Purchasing
Chapter 175 -128: Trading Souls, Massive Purchasing
Shen Xing gazed at the sparkling Platinum Member insignia on his account, feeling a surge of excitement.
He knew this must have been a special upgrade from the Jiang City authorities—an extra reward for taking first place on the rankings.
‘This is great,’ Shen Xing thought contentedly. ‘I was just about to buy a large batch of materials. This will save me quite a bit of money.’
In addition, he also noticed the information below.
The delivery time had also been reduced from the original thirty minutes to twenty-five.
He wasn’t sure if it was a Platinum Member perk or if the dawn of an era where everyone was becoming Extraordinary had simply shortened the delivery times for the couriers.
‘I have some time now. I should make a trip to the Pioneer Association.’
‘I’ll see what price I can get for that Leader Soul, then buy some materials to build the Hell War Chariot and that High-Level Blacksmith’s Manual Logan mentioned.’
Having laid out a plan in his mind, Shen Xing swiftly got out of bed.
He left his bedroom, entered the spacious bathroom, and quickly washed up.
Next, he went to the dining room, ready to get his three meals for the day over with…
However, as he stared at the Moonlight Bread in his hand—which smelled temptingly of toasted grain and was perfect in every way—he found it hard to swallow.
It tasted good, but you can get sick of even the most delicious food after eating it for days on end.
On top of that, he hadn’t eaten anything else in all that time, and he was beginning to feel an instinctual aversion to it.
‘Forget it. I’ll order some takeout later to treat myself.’
‘And I need to add some new types of Food to the territory as soon as possible.’
‘Those Soldier Types and workers have been eating nothing but bread for days. They haven’t said anything, but I’m sure they’re about to get sick of it.’
‘Besides, the strategy I came up with—using Beastmen as cannon fodder—will require a huge amount of Food to recruit them.’
‘Once this event is over, I’ll explore the surrounding area to add more food varieties for the territory.’
Shen Xing finished the glass of milk as he continued to plan for the future.
Then, he wheeled himself into the spacious front yard.
“Fried Chicken.”
He murmured.
The Fog Flower in his hand began to spin slowly, spewing out a large amount of gray fog.
When the fog dissipated, a raptor with a wingspan of seven or eight meters appeared. Its wings shimmered with a cold light, and it stood on four thick, powerful legs.
“KREE?”
Fried Chicken tilted its head, its bright yellow eyes scanning the yard, shining with eagerness.
This wasn’t the first time Shen Xing had summoned the bird into the real world.
It seemed to prefer it here, compared to the dark, fog-shrouded Land of Mist.
Shen Xing planned to have Fried Chicken take him to the Pioneer Association.
After all, the *Pioneer Management Regulations* had been updated; it was no longer illegal to wander the streets with a Soldier Type.
Of course, he knew that since he’d just taken first place on the rankings, a lot of eyes were probably on him.
But based on what had happened before, he should be safe in Jiang City.
Shen Xing had Fried Chicken lie down. He then wheeled himself up its left wing and slowly maneuvered onto its broad back.
Once he was settled and had a firm grip, he gently patted the armrest of his wheelchair.
“Take off.”
“SCREEE—”
With a single beat of its wings, Fried Chicken shot into the sky like a flash of dark gold lightning, instantly ascending to an altitude of several hundred meters.
The villa complex below shrank rapidly, soon becoming a grid of matchbox-sized squares.
He had only been flying for a short distance when his phone buzzed with a text message.
[Pioneer Shen Xing detected flying at high altitude on an Extraordinary Creature. Please maintain an altitude between 500 and 1,000 meters. Maximum speed within city limits must not exceed 70 km/h. Please observe air traffic control and fly in an orderly manner.]
“Huh? There are altitude and speed limits.”
Shen Xing chuckled and quipped, “As things keep developing, are we going to need a pilot’s license just to get around?”
He smiled, then put his phone away and looked ahead.
Now, skyscrapers appeared and disappeared within the curtain of rain, making the entire city seem as if it were shrouded in fog.
From several kilometers away, he could see the city’s landmark building: Times Mansion.
“Fried Chicken, fly forward and to the left. Control your speed,” Shen Xing ordered.
“CHIRP!”
The Horned Eagle chirped obediently, adjusted its course, and flew toward the city center.
Along the way, Shen Xing saw massive shadows streaking through the rain in the distant sky.
Clearly, these were other Pioneers who owned flying Soldier Types.
Shen Xing even saw a flock of massive, hump-backed birds moving slowly through the clouds.
Two steel cables were attached to the back of each bird, suspending a standard shipping container below as they flew steadily toward the distant port.
‘The times really are changing,’ he thought. ‘Even Soldier Types are being used as a labor force.’
‘As more and more Lords enter the Land of Mist, even more jobs will be replaced. Soon, humans might not need to work at all.’
‘But… the Fog invasions are getting more frequent, and Blue Star’s environment is changing every day.’
‘Who can say what the world will eventually become?’
Shen Xing mused to himself, then continued to direct Fried Chicken.
The city center wasn’t far from his home, only four or five kilometers as the crow flies.
At Fried Chicken’s current speed of three to four hundred kilometers per hour, it would take less than half a minute to get there.
Of course, that would be serious speeding.
Being a model citizen, Shen Xing had Fried Chicken maintain a speed of sixty to seventy kilometers per hour.
A few minutes later, the Horned Eagle flapped its wings gently and landed steadily in the outdoor parking lot.
Shen Xing broke the Spirit link, sending it back to the Land of Mist, and settled back into his wheelchair.
