BTTH: Rebirth of Liu Xi

Chapter 749: The Secret of the Continent

  • Next Chapter

Standing outside the bedchamber, the energy of heaven and earth suddenly began to surge violently around Liu Xi, yet no one else could detect a thing.

A moment later, a sphere—half-illusory, half-real, radiating mysterious light—condensed before him.

"You again."

Liu Xi rubbed his temples, helplessly amused.

The sphere was none other than the Plane Fetus. Only the size of a human head, yet it carried the majestic pressure of the entire Dou Qi Continent. But the moment it appeared, it acted like a loyal puppy seeing its master and eagerly threw itself at Liu Xi.

It struck his chest, attempting to merge with him, only to be bounced away. Even so, it didn't give up.

The scene practically screamed:

When I came to you, you ignored me. Now you're not even worthy.

The Plane Fetus hovered around him insistently. Liu Xi suddenly reached out, grabbed it, and began aggressively kneading it.

Soft, elastic… the texture was surprisingly good.

"I told you already, I'm not interested in being a Plane Master anymore. Why don't you pick someone else?"

The Plane Fetus allowed itself to be squeezed into all sorts of shapes, showing not a single hint of resistance—if anything, it seemed to be enjoying it. The origin energy leaking from Liu Xi's body was more addictive to it than any drug.

The whole sphere even morphed into Liu Xi's shape…

Though exasperated, Liu Xi couldn't deny he was flattered. If this had been years ago, he would have worshipped the Plane Fetus day and night for such a chance.

But now? A mere Lower Plane's Plane Master meant nothing to him.

He continued to absentmindedly knead the Plane Fetus as he admired the tens of thousands of lights illuminating Azure Lotus City. The past decade proved his planning had not been wrong.

After he opened the passage between worlds, Origin Qi returned to the Dou Qi Continent, and the density of heaven and earth energy skyrocketed. Naturally, the number of strong cultivators surged. Without strict regulation, the continent would have fallen into chaos.

Fortunately, the Heavenly Alliance acted like a sword hanging above every faction's head, keeping them all in line.

The result was a ten-year explosion of powerhouses—hundreds of Dou Saints already.

If this went on unchecked, chaos would eventually erupt.

But that day would never come, because Liu Xi was preparing to bring all these Dou Saints to the Great Thousand World to build his real force.

With pressure from outside, internal unity would naturally strengthen. Only then could Liu Xi have a true foundation.

Just thinking about it made him a little excited…

Right then, as if upset at being ignored, the Plane Fetus emitted a surge of chaotic light. That light climbed up Liu Xi's arm, then wrapped around his entire body.

Liu Xi sensed it, but since there was no danger, he allowed it.

He also wanted to know what it was trying to do.

In the blink of an eye, Liu Xi was drawn into another perspective. In this view, he seemed to become the continent itself.

He was the wandering wind, the drifting clouds, the slumbering stones beneath the earth, and the vast boundless seas…

He viewed the Dou Qi Continent from the perspective of heaven and earth.

The sensation was indescribably mystical—so much so that Liu Xi felt as though he had become the Dao itself. Countless insights welled up within him.

But something felt wrong.

Liu Xi's eyes narrowed. After observing for some time, he finally realized the truth:

He wasn't watching the present.

He was moving backward along the river of time, toward the origin of everything.

One mighty expert after another—dying, rising, being born…

One faction after another—decline, glory, creation…

All the hidden secrets of the Dou Qi Continent unfolded before his eyes.

Tuoshe Ancient Emperor's disappearance after leaving his legacy…

The era when the Devouring Spirit Clan rampaged, devouring ancient clans…

The shocking truth is that the Devouring Spirit Clan carried traces of the Extraterrestrial Evil Race's bloodline, giving them both devouring bloodlines and Dou Qi cultivation…

The disappearance of the ancient Dou Di's—a tragedy caused by the invasion of the Extraterrestrial Evil Race. The ancient Dou Di's fought to the last breath, yet in the end, they sealed the continent and used themselves as bait to draw the Extraterrestrial Evil Race away…

The continent's most prosperous era, when Dou Di's walked the land and glorious imperial clans thrived…

…

Liu Xi finally opened his eyes.

Within those deep pupils was a cold detachment—like a god overlooking all beings.

He calmly surveyed his surroundings. No time had passed in reality, yet within the Plane Fetus' guidance, he had experienced countless years.

He understood every secret of the Dou Qi Continent. His mentality had transformed. It felt as though he had gained hundreds of thousands of years of experience—something even Saint Grade experts might never obtain.

When he returned to the Great Thousand World, he could immediately begin preparing to break through to Saint Grade Heavenly Sovereign.

Liu Xi released the Plane Fetus and exhaled deeply. He stretched his limbs—the long immersion in that heavenly-dao-like state had left him oddly unused to his own physical body.

The freed Plane Fetus immediately pounced again, ramming into his chest—only to bounce off once more.

Liu Xi still refused the title of Plane Master.

Hovering mid-air, the Plane Fetus flashed with chaotic light, as if loudly accusing him of being a heartless scumbag who refused to take responsibility.

Liu Xi's voice grew raspy:

"It was mutual, alright? Even if you want me to take responsibility now, I don't want to be the Plane Master."

With a flick of his finger—

The Plane Fetus dissolved back into the void.

No matter what mysterious methods it possessed, sheer strength alone meant Liu Xi had complete dominance.

After temporarily suppressing it, Liu Xi walked back into the bedchamber. As the doors closed behind him, his hoarse voice drifted out:

"All those heavenly insights were nice, but they almost turned me into a heartless sage. Only a soft embrace can bring my humanity back…"
