Chapter 2246: Goblin Den
Chapter 2246: Goblin Den
To be honest, the state of Zhao Hai’s Space was already pretty good. Some races specialize in cultivation while some specialize in other methods. The results were very good. If Zhao Hai took out all of the Space’s strength, although it couldn’t overturn the Ghost Cultivators, he still would have no problem protecting himself.
Despite his capabilities, Zhao Hai has no plans on causing huge troubles to the Ghost Cultivators. Although he was strong, once he used his full strength, others would know about the Space. Once that happens, it would cause endless disaster to the races of the Space.
Most importantly, Zhao Hai discovered that the world he was in wasn’t simple. The pyramid-like hierarchy looked like it was set up by someone on purpose. If one’s strength wasn’t strong enough, then they wouldn’t be able to enter a higher plane.
Zhao Hai felt that everything was artificial. Everyone was supposed to go up step by step, plane by plane. When he looked at it with an outsider’s perspective, it was as if he was playing a game.
Because of this, Zhao Hai has no plans to show his full strength. This was because it would bring no advantages to him.
At this time, Zhao Hai was already in the underground world and looking at the base of the Red Goblins. He was in an endless mountain range where caves were very common. Here was the entrance of the Resistance Army’s den.
Zhao Hai looked at the caves and smiled faintly. Although the caves looked inconspicuous, he could sense that there was something inside. Zhao Hai quickly stepped in.
The caves weren’t very big. Moreover, they were very moist. It was unsuitable for humans to live in. However, Zhao Hai knew that this environment was fake. Zhao Hai began knocking on the cave wall. After knocking eight times, the cave wall opened automatically.
After the wall opened, Zhao Hai walked in. Compared to the moist environment before, the cave inside was dry and clear. It was as if Zhao Hai walked into another world.
However, Zhao Hai didn’t care about all these. This was because in front of him were several Red Goblins. They all panicked when they saw Zhao Hai.
Zhao Hai knew that the Red Goblins were guarding the cave. The entrance was only known to a few people. The method of opening it was even more secretive. Most Red Goblins don’t know how to open it. But now, a human managed to break in. In this case, how could the Red Goblins not panic?
The Red Goblins looked at Zhao Hai in horror, completely unaware how Zhao Hai got in. Looking at the Red Goblins, Zhao Hai smiled faintly and said, “There’s no need to be afraid. I’m not a Ghost Cultivator.”
However, due to their shock, the Red Goblins weren’t able to process Zhao Hai’s words. Without delay, they immediately waved their hands and threw fireballs towards Zhao Hai.
Zhao Hai could understand the thoughts of these Red Goblins. What the Red Goblins fear the most are humans. This was because they grew up under the suppression of the Ghost Cultivators. They didn’t know that there were human beings other than Ghost Cultivators. In their eyes, all humans were evil.
Zhao Hai looked at the fireballs coming towards him. These fireballs weren’t actually weak against Ghost Cultivators. After all, Ghost Cultivators practice dark-attribute techniques. Although fire cannot outright defeat the dark element, it was also one of its weaknesses. Therefore, it was the right decision to use fire techniques against Ghost Cultivators.
However, in the eyes of Zhao Hai, these fireballs still fall short. He himself knew how to use fire-element magic. His affinity for fire was even higher than the Red Goblins. Therefore, these fireballs were no threat to him at all.
Zhao Hai waved his hand, seemingly reckoning the fireballs towards him. Like obedient dogs, the fireballs flew towards Zhao Hai’s hand. Then, under Zhao Hai’s manipulation, the fireballs combined into a huge fireball. And under the gazes of the red goblins, Zhao Hai clenched his fist to extinguish the fire.
Seeing Zhao Hai’s actions, the Red Goblins were stunned once more. They immediately released more fireballs. Unfortunately for them, it was useless against Zhao Hai.
Like the ones before, Zhao Hai caught the fireballs and dispersed them with a wave. By this point, the Red Goblins were terrified. They continued to hurl fireballs towards Zhao Hai but to no effect. By the end, the Red Goblins were extremely fatigued. Their faces were looking at Zhao Hai with a desperate expression. Their eyes already accepting their fate. ṟÁ𐌽ọᛒЕṣ
Looking at the Red Goblins, Zhao Hai could understand their reaction. He gave them a smile and said, “Like I said, I don’t intend to attack you. I’m not a Ghost Cultivator. I want you to take me to your leader.”
Hearing Zhao Hai, the Red Goblins stared. Then one of them stepped forward and said, “What do you want to do? You want to catch all of us?”
Zhao Hai looked at the Red Goblin and then smiled faintly, “Catch all of you? Do I need to do that? This is the Rebellion Army’s den. If I can enter here, that means I have long known that you are here. If I wanted to deal with you, I wouldn’t have waited until today. Now, let’s go. Lead me to your leader. We have something to talk about.”
The Red Goblins looked at each other and knew that what Zhao Hai was saying was true. Since Zhao Hai could come in through the secret entrance, that means that he knew the den’s location a long time ago. If he wanted to deal with them, he could just lead an army. The Red Goblins knew very well how much the humans hated them.
The Red Goblin at the front looked at Zhao Hai and said, “Mister, if possible, wait here. I’ll notify the Chief. Is that fine?”
Zhao Hai nodded, “Do as you please.” Then he no longer paid attention to the goblins. He found a spot at the side and sat down to meditate.
The cave wasn’t very big. It was only around a thousand square meters. The walls were dug out to have smaller caves within. Naturally, these smaller caves were the dwellings of the Red Goblins. In the middle of the small caves was an open area with a pile of firewood.
Zhao Hai knew that the Red Goblin wouldn’t be able to return for a short time. This was because the Red Goblin den was actually very big. It was an underground city that housed around 100 thousand Red Goblins.
Naturally, this wasn’t the only Red Goblin Den. This was merely one of the many hidden dens of the Red Goblin Race. Each den was guarded by its own set of guards. However, this particular Goblin Den was the largest and had the strongest Red Goblin Army. This was because the leader of the Rebellion Army was living here.
The remaining Red Goblins looked vigilantly at Zhao Hai. They didn’t know what to do at this time. They were extremely wary towards humans. However, Zhao Hai didn’t harm them. Moreover, they can see that Zhao Hai was very strong. It was impossible for them to win against him.
Most importantly, Zhao Hai was unlike any other human they had seen. The other humans were wary or afraid of the Red Goblin fireballs. Zhao Hai, on the other hand, seemed very familiar with fire-element spells. This was what surprised the Red Goblins the most.
As they looked at each other, the Red Goblins remained quiet. However, they gathered around the pile of wood while also monitoring Zhao Hai.
The cave became silent. The mood of the Red Goblins was as heavy as the cave outside. They didn’t know what awaited them in the future.
After two hours, the sound of footsteps was heard. From the sound alone, one could hear that a lot of people were approaching. Zhao Hai opened his eyes and slowly stood up. The Red Goblins in the cave also stood up in surprise. They guarded themselves against Zhao Hai.
Seeing the Red Goblins, Zhao Hai only smiled. Before long, a group of Red Goblins arrived. In the front of the group was the goblin who talked to Zhao Hai before. At this time, he was followed by a hundred Red Goblins. Naturally, the cave couldn’t hold so many people, so the other Red Goblins were waiting outside.
Zhao Hai didn’t mind. He looked at the Red Goblins before his gaze wandered towards the one in the lead. Then he said, “Mister, did you deliver my message?”
The Red Goblin was stunned. This was the first time that a human was being polite to him. He paused for a moment before saying, “The Chief said that he can meet with you. But you need to wear a blindfold.”
Hearing this, Zhao Hai couldn’t help but stare, then he laughed and said, “Although blindfolds can work on you goblins, it has no effect on me. We use our spiritual force to see everything around us clearly. Even in complete darkness, we could still make out the terrain around us, no worse than when we use our eyes. But if you insist, you can blindfold me. I won’t resist.” After he said that, Zhao Hai stood still and closed his eyes.
Zhao Hai’s attitude caused the Red Goblins to stare. Then after hesitating for a moment, the lead Red Goblin said, “I’ve offended Mister.” Then he took out a piece of beast skin and went towards Zhao Hai. Although his eyes were closed, Zhao Hai knew to lower his body.
The Red Goblin covered Zhao Hai’s eyes and then said, “Mister, please follow me.” Then he used his wooden club to touch Zhao Hai’s hand before leading him inside.
Zhao Hai smiled faintly and said, “There’s no need. Go ahead, I’ll follow you.” The Red Goblin nodded, then he proceeded to walk. However, every so often, he would look back at Zhao Hai. He wanted to know if Zhao Hai could really follow behind him despite having his eyes covered.
The answer came quickly. Although Zhao Hai’s eyes were closed, he acted like normal. There was a small stone on the road which he kicked to the side. This scared the Red Goblins around him. All of them looked at Zhao Hai, not daring to lower their guards.
