Chapter 222: Our pregnancy

Water. It was the first thing Mira felt once her consciousness slipped right back to her.

More water. It poured on her face along with something soaked. Mira could not help but squeeze her already shut eyes. A moan snuck out of her face, followed by a groan.

"She’s awake!"

"Really? That’s splendid!"

"Go and call for the mighty cheetah!"

"I knew from the day I smelt it that they were up to no good, hehe."

The voices in the background blended into Mira’s ears and this made her brows crease. Her eyes were still shut and from her body’s position, she could tell she was lying down. Mira’s fingers felt what she was laid on. It was soft and furry. She was on a bed that was for sure.

"Please shut up, your noise is hurting my ears." Mira groaned. She water still flooded down her face so she could not open her eyes. Mira tried to sit up but a body pushed her back down.

"Please, do not over exert yourself in your state, you need rest." Whoever was wetting her face and body said, Mira knew it was the same one because the hands of the person was wet.

Mira stayed still on the bed. "What happened to me?" She questioned. "And please get this off my eyes, I need to see." She added. The wet attire on her face immediately came off and Mira opened her eyes, water settled at the corner of her eyes and she blinked.

Just then, Ming Tao made his way into the room she was in. Mira could not see him but she heard his sigh of relief. Really, what happened to her?

"How is she?" Ming Tao asked first before approaching Mira. Mira turned her head but the beast woman by her side stopped her from doing so immediately. So she could only lay down flat with her back to the bed. This made Mira roll her eyes.

"She is in good condition. Splendid one in fact." The person said to Ming Tao. Ming Tao let out another sigh.

"Then what was wrong? Why did she collapse and for so long?"

Mira felt her ears stand, she wanted to peak but the beast woman by her side was a literal wall. How long was he talking? Mira asked herself in her head.

"It was the baby." The beast woman responded. That made Mira’s upper body come up the bed. What?! They knew? He told? What was going on?

"Please lie back down." The beast woman said to Mira and forced Mira’s body back to the bed.

"What happened to the baby?" Ming Tao questioned.

"The baby’s distress went to the mother and that was why she blacked out. She is doing really well." The woman stated. Mira had never heard about something like this in her life and she could not tell if this was a cheetah pregnancy experience or if this world was just running on new things humans never did.

[ Or it could be that you have never stayed around pregnant women enough or studied them to know this. ] System chimed.

This made Mira blink, deep in thought. Could foetuses actually feel distressed? She had no idea.

"Thank you for everything, really." Ming Tao said, it was now he walked to Mira. The beast woman gave him way to stay by her side.

"Hello wife." Ming Tao stated with a smile. Mira wanted to move, seeing him stare down at her from this angle was not it. He did look charming, of course, she just was not sure if she did.

"Tell that woman to allow me to sit." Mira cooed. She saw Ming Tao look at beast woman and immediately, the woman nodded then stood up. Mira’s face flattened, that beast woman deserved five lashes!

Mira sat up and stared at Ming Tao. "Did I die?" She questioned. She did not know why but everywhere looked foreign. Ming Tao stared at her like she had just said the most bizarre thing then laughed. He put his hand on her head and patted her gently.

"Would my hand feel this way in the afterlife?" He asked, still laughing. Mira shrugged, she did not know, she was indeed dead before and got transmigrated here so his hand could very much feel real in an afterlife.

"How long have I been out?" Mira asked.

"A day." Ming Tao responded. His voice was warm and cool like he did not want her to worry about being unconscious for that long but he was leaving a lot of gap in what happened after she had passed out. Mira wanted to know.

"And Jia Hao? Patricia? Hye Yang? What happened to them?"

Ming Tao laughed. "Jia Hao is taking treatment. He did not want to and wanted to wait for you to awaken first but I talked him out of it. Patricia is not in the cheetah clan anymore and Hye Yang, well, she’s just the way you left her."

This made Mira sigh. That was good, everything was good. "They know about my child." Mira finally added.

"You passed out, of course I needed to tell them to handle you with care." Ming Tao’s hand slid down Mira’s head and cupped her cheek. "You’re delicate. I wanted them to treat you as such. But I only told the ones attending to you. They will not say a word to anyone else till we’re ready." Ming Tao basically answered all of Mira’s questions. Now that the major threat was gone, she needed to begin making preparations for a playground for her unborn child birth indoors and outdoors with the cheetah cubs. She also needed to make a cub proof nursery. So much had to be done. She also needed to prepare for child birth and possible purchase anaesthetic suitable for pregnant women from system. She did not want to relive the pain from her first labour but all of these preparations should be done after informing the cheetah clan of her status.

Mira looked at Ming Tao straight in his eyes. "I am ready to inform the cheetahs of our pregnancy."
